This guide will show you where to find the Prey Weapon Upgrade Kit Fabrication Plan Location.
This blueprint allows you to craft as many upgrade kits as you want at any fabricator.
To improve weapons you need Weapon Upgrade Kits. You also need the engineer skills Repair I > Gunsmith I > Gunsmith II (costs 11 Neuromods total). Without those skills it’s not possible to fully upgrade a weapon.
To upgrade a weapon, open the Inventory > Scroll over the weapon you want to upgrade > press the Triangle (PS4) / Y (XB1) / Weapon Switch Button (PC) > select “Upgrade” from dropdown menu.
Each weapon has multiple upgradable categories, such as firepower, magazine capacity, range, accuracy. Fully upgrading a single weapon unlocks the “Cold Dead Hands” trophy and achievement. The pistol, shotgun and Gloo Gun are the cheapest to max out at 15 upgrade kits each.
Many Upgrade Kits are found throughout the game and some are random drops from enemies. The fastest way to max out all your weapons is to craft as many kits as you’d like, once you have found the blueprint for it.
Weapon Upgrade Kit Fabrication Plan Location
The fabrication plan / blueprint can be found in the “Crew Quarters” area. You go there for the first time during main mission “Gathering Echoes”. You can download the blueprint from the computer in S. Elazar’s cabin (Hall A). To hack the computer you need the “Hacking II” ability. The door is blocked but you can enter through a vent to the left of the door. In front of the vent is a box but you can get rid of it with a Recycler charge (alternatively, use Leverage II ability to lift the crate or Mimic Matter to transform into a tiny object and squeeze through the gap).

See that big box on the left side of the hallway? Behind that is the vent you need to go through. Throw a Recycler Charge to make it disappear or use the Leverage / Mimic Matter skill.
Crawl through the vent to enter the room. On the other side there’s a window that you must smash through.
Hack the PC (requires Hacking II) and download the Weapon Kit Fabrication Plan. Now go to any fabricator (one can be found in the kitchen of the Crew Quarters) and craft as many upgrade kits as you can afford.
Bonus: Some More Weapon Upgrade Kit Locations
Hardware Labs:
The first kit is in the locker of the security checkpoint. It can be opened from the security terminal (computer panel).
The next on requires you to jump through the roof of a building. Either build a tower with the Goo Cannon or do the optional objective to craft the Propulsion System and then boost jump over there.
Psychotronics:
In the armory by the Material Extraction room. Free the prisoner (by opening the door) and he’ll give you the keycode to the armory.
G.U.T.S.:
This is on the research level of G.U.T.S. – the area with the big reactor room. The reactor sends a deadly shockwave every few seconds and you must retrieve the keycard of an employee here to progress in the story.
Arboretum
In Alex’s office (middle of the area). You can climb through a secret shaft behind the looking glass. Use the Gloo Gun to make a climbable structures to climb up the shaft and reach the top of the building.
Crew Quarters
From the entrance of the Crew Quarters, go up the stairs on the left side to find this in a side room.
Life Support
Smash in the window to the room shown on the screenshot. Inside you can find a supply crate that contains a weapon upgrade kit.
Power Plant
Immediately after entering the power plant this can be found in the security checkpoint.
Shuttle Bay
On the upper floor of the shuttle bay, in the control tower. You can get up here by building climbable structures in the elevator shaft with your Gloo Cannon.
