Introduction
Welcome to the The Plucky Squire Trophy Guide! Plucky Squire is a puzzle/adventure game about the titular Plucky Squire and his friends having to deal with the fact, that they are actually in a book. A cute, short game that has the main protagonist deal with a villain, by manipulating his own world, or in this case the book world. The game is about 8 to 10 hours long and takes place on book pages which you either navigate in 2D or manipulate from the outside in 3D. The trophies are nothing difficult and everything can be done in a single playthrough, but you must grab all collectibles in one playthrough as the Glitchbirds don’t count in Chapter Select, and the merchant that sells Art Scrolls & Skill Upgrades glitches out in Chapter Select.
Step 1: 100% Completion Playthrough on Adventure Mode
Simply follow The Plucky Squire Collectible Guide and you’ll get all collectibles and trophies along the way (it also includes all trophies in chronological order). There are two types of collectibles: 10 Glitchbirds & 50 Art Scrolls.
Also pick up every single “Bulb” you see and hit everything for money, since you need almost all Bulbs to buy all Scrolls and Skill Upgrades in a single run. Bulbs are this game’s form of currency which you spend at the merchant named Martina.
Bug Warnings:
At the time of writing, there are several bugs (might be patched in the future):
- Collected Glitchbirds DON’T save in Chapter Replay, the first Glitchbird you collect in Replay will raise your trophy progression by 1 for this trophy, but the Bird will respawn, no matter if you finish the level afterward or not! So if you only missed one Bird, you might get the final one by replaying the chapter, but if you missed 2 or more, you will have to play the entire game again.
- Your companions glitch out on Chapter Replay, they become invisible and it causes problems with some cutscenes and dialogues. Most of the time you can still progress, but it might also block progression in some cases. Chapter 7 is confirmed to glitch out completely in Chapter Replay, so if you missed anything there and plan to get it in Chapter Replay, you will need to redo the whole game.
- Scrolls can be obtained via Chapter Replay except in Chapter 7 due to progression bug (see above). You do not need to finish the level after picking up a previously missed Scroll for it to save.
- The merchant Martina also glitches out completely in Chapter Select, so everything that has to do with her is also missable (Scrolls and Skill Upgrades bought from her).
- Hit every enemy, bush, tree and everything else that drops bulbs so you can buy all the scrolls and skills from Martina in a single run, the amount needed is pretty high, you need almost 100% of all bulbs!
While the glitches might get patched in the future, it is better to be safe than sorry, so in general:
- Follow The Plucky Squire Collectible Guide if you want to avoid a second run – it’s a good idea to back up your save to PS+ cloud at the start of each chapter, if you missed a collectible you can copy back your save and replay from there.
- Keep hitting everything for bulbs!
- Avoid Chapter Replay.

Thank you so much for having the guide ready for release! So happy to get home from work and be able to enjoy this little gem 🙂
One question, how many bulbs do you need exactly for all the upgrades? I’ve noticed that if you go back to previous pages and strike the trees again, you can get bulbs again from some trees that previously already dropped them.
Anyway, thanks again for you great work! Every game I play I always have your guides to help me through!
Bruno says
Oh! I didnt know that, great find! I’m at chapter 5 atm, will surely find a nice forest and do some farm to be more comfortable, I’m finding myself hitting EVERYTHING and always buying scrolls and only if with a lot more bulbs, upgrades….
Sunny says
There’s an amazing farming spot at Chapter 6!!
When you reach the area where you have to give some cheese to a monster rat, hit every bush and tree here, there’s a lot of bushes on the bottom right corner, then let the monster rat kill you. You’ll keep the bulbs and the bushes will respawn!! Rinse and Repeat !
Kieran says
Damn that’s a lot of glitches, hopefully I don’t miss anything while following the collectables.

Thank you for the trophy guide. I am usually not interested in 2D games, but since this game is a combination of 2D/3D, as well as launching on PS Plus Extra/Premium, makes me somewhat interested in The Plucky Squire. Unfortunate that there’s bugs that cause glitched trophies when using Chapter Select, but if I were to play this, I would try to do everything to earn the Platinum trophy in a single playthrough regardless.
Thanos Kakkavas says
Where is Enotria guide and roadmap ?
Voldo says
It isn’t on their list of Upcoming Trophy Guides, so you can probably guess they aren’t doing one.
Vince says
Nice job on this guide! I was just curious if you all have any plans to make an Enotria: The Last Song Trophy Guide and Roadmap? I noticed it was on the list for upcoming guides but it’s not there anymore. I almost always use your guides to platinum souls and soulslike games. No worries if you’re not making a guide though, I’d just like to know. Thank You!
Anonymous says
Looks like they reduced the Art Scroll cost to 10 bulbs for release, so the bulb economy shouldn’t be as strict. Hopefully they fixed the bugs too!
Bruno says
Are you sure? I’m buying them 20 a piece
Anonymous says
They’re definitely 10 for me, but I’m playing on Steam. Maybe the launch update hasn’t hit PS5 yet, if you’re playing there?
Siva says
request for Enotria: the last song trophy guide, planning to get platinum for it
Bruno says
I already catch the fish, but wasn at the first time and Im now on chapter 5, can i go back to catch it again ir do i meet to start a new game?
Anonymous says
You can do it via chapter select but the quit/load checkpoint trick won’t work because quitting chapter select will return you to the main menu
Ultimusfantasy says
When do I have to defeat this mage?
I completed the story and didn’t get this trophy “Mighty Witch”
DK says
It was at the end of chapter 8, he blocks your story path so I wonder how you could have missed it…
Wicked says
Does invincibility or one hit kill turned on void any trophies ?
Pfroebbel says
The Bird Trophy is bugged. I took them all. But it only counted six. It stopped a while at four and the last two counted again. Yeah. No second playtrough for this.
PhantomFear94 says
I’m pretty sure you can use accessibility settings and make this a 1/10 difficulty. I have 1HK and invincibility active and am still unlocking all story achievements, getting progression towards Adventure Mode correctly, and all collectible tracking appears correct too. This is on Xbox. Don’t believe it will invalidate any other achievements if its not blocking the Adventure difficulty achievement from tracking.
PhantomFear94 says
Can confirm. Have the 1000G using accessibility setting, meaning you can 1HK all non boss enemies and be immune to damage. If you wish to grind coins just turn off invincibility for a bit.
Vaughn says
Metal Warrior Trophy (Defeat Metal Eagle) is bugged as i have completed the game and not received this trophy ????
PhantomFear94 says
I had to do this fight twice for it to register. I clocked it immediately, re-loaded an auto save and it popped. So I think it’s buggy.
ArtMontef says
Okay, so I might be nitpicking, but it maybe would be good to change the wording of the guide. It says multiple times in the guide to not pick quote “chapter select”. Which I assumed is like classic chapter select, since the game is chapter based. But you actually mean the automatic savefiles that are made after making progress or entering new page.
I was so adamant to get everything on one playthrough, expected said chapter select to become avalaible after the game ends
Camboggia75 says
Hi guys, I saw that there are tricks that can be reached in the options, like invincibility etc… I wanted to know if they disable the trophies… Thanks!
John Belanger says
Finished the game but Powerful Jot is only at 91%, keeping me from the platinum. I hope there’s a way in the future to obtain this without having to replay the game. I collected all the bulbs I saw and it still wasn’t enough apparently.
Proldo says
Did you hit all the trees and bushes you could?
Camboggia75 says
Do cheats disable trophies?
WickedMatrix says
No. Got the platinum with invincibility and one hit kill switched on.
MoonWilts says
It’s worth noting using “Save History” is the same as using “Chapter Select” and affects the Glitchbird trophy – They aren’t counted properly.
So now I’m waiting for a patch which will hopefully come soon…
Nartos89 says
yeah I was stuck in a tree surrounded by fire so I had to use Save History and now I am missing 3 birds….
Max says
Thanks for this, I just did the same thing. I got soft locked by using invincible to roll past the blades without having the stop stamp. I reloaded a quick save from before I got the glitchbird so I thought I had to get it again. I thought it was weird when it didn’t say anything after grabbing it. Then I got the next one and it said I just picked up the second one. I’m not gonna start over, I’ll just wait with you.
blackcat2806 says
same, this trophy has been corrupted with the last update. Really, this is annoying…
MTT says
My Adventure Complete trophy is stuck at 80% for some reason. I beat the game in “adventure” but it unlocked only the Story Complete trophy. I tried replay the Chapter 9 in “adventure mode” from chapter replay but it didn’t unlock. Is there any way to fix this that doesn’t involve replaying the whole game?
Leo says
Dont know why, but got powerful jot at chapter 7.
I fully upgraded sword, sword throw and curcle attack, when I bought the jump attack, the trophy poped.
I didnt farm but hit everything.
Meddling1 says
Just an fyi the glitch bird trophy is glitched. I experienced a bug during the mine cart section and had to reload an earlier save. Now the game is not reporting when I pick up new glitchbirds
Camboggia75 says
Thanks to WickedMatrix says for the kind reply of the cheats that do not disable the trophies…
I wanted to ask another question, why this game from 1 to 10 as difficulty, is it given a 3 out of 10? It does not seem to me a game that has anything difficult apparently from the trophy list, maybe there are some levels or fights too difficult somewhere in the game?? If someone can kindly explain to me why it is a 3 out of 10 and not a 2 out of 10, I would be very grateful, because this game intrigues me a lot… Thanks to all guys…
Pascal says
In my progress for the platinum trophy, the adventure mode is 80%. In Chapter 9, out of frustration with the puzzle with the balls, I switched from adventure to story mode. Can I replay this chapter in Adventure mode and still get the Trophy, or do I really have to replay the entire game in Adventure mode?
Mix says
All boss battle trophies are missable if you choose to skip mini-game
Shane Kelly says
If you skip a mini game does it invalidate the trophy? Trying to beat the Humpgrunp in the Tetris battle after jump mega bird and am so tempted to skip it but don’t want to lose the trophy.
Sanctus says
You can use chapter select to beat it again. That happened to me, so verified on my own.
crona says
I jumped over all of them, so the trophy is only for the last part of the boss with humgrump
(so it is after the three first faces)
Sanctus says
Achieved platinum with a patch. Everything counted correctly, followed the guide, but missed like 10 bulbs to get full improvements in a shop. That was the only trophy left to me. As expected shop doesn’t spawn in chapter replay, so I had to revert my save from cloud, from chapter 7, then found some page with some enemies and bushes, kill them all expect one, die, repeat, and after about 1 hours I got a required 360 bulbs to buy 3 upgrades that I had left at my save from chapter 7.
BodyChipper says
A couple of tips I didn’t see listed, since getting bulbs is the main blocker for two of the trophies.
There are tons of hittable objects in 3D world, not only the cardboard bushes and trees but regular looking trees and other things when in the house. If an object has a white border, it can be hit for bulbs. Look everywhere, behind things, and in the corners for extra bulbs whenever in 3D.
Don’t buy the sword throw badge, you can get it for free if you wait another chapter or two. Martina will sell it for 0 by chapter 3 (I think), because you have to have it to progress the story at a certain point. This saves you another 20 or so bulbs.
When hitting everything available and killing every enemy, without any farming, I had 80 spare bulbs at the final store and had purchased everything up to that point.
Brett says
New PC patch (10/8) includes the below fix. Hopefully it will also be on the next console patch.
“Fixed the shopkeeper not appearing when using the Chapter Replay feature even when she has something to sell.”
