At Gamescom 2018, Square Enix revealed that their new game “The Quiet Man”, initially teased at E3 2018, will still release later this year in 2018.
It will have “Movie Length” which we can assume means 2 hours or so. The game will be priced accordingly, it will NOT be a full priced $60 game. The exact pricing of The Quiet Man is unknown at this time. It’s set to release on PS4 and PC.
What’s The Quiet Man about?
The Quiet Man is an interactive game that transitions seamlessly between movie and gameplay. It will be half movie-half gameplay. This can be seen in the teaser trailer and has since been confirmed by Square Enix — the teaser starts out with a movie scene and transitions to gameplay at the end. You play a deaf character. At 0:28, the main protagonist does not hear what the thugs are saying to him because he’s deaf (hence the game is also called The “Quiet” Man):
Beyond that, the only thing known is that it’s going to involve fighting. It won’t just be QTEs either, there’s actual fighting you can do yourself and there’s heavy focus on the story.
