Introduction

Welcome to the Aragami 2 Trophy Guide! Aragami 2 is the sequel to the original game released back in 2016. The gameplay has been expanded on and refined compared to its predecessor and takes on a more mission-like structure.

The game itself is quite easy and the trophy list is very straightforward, completing the game, some miscellaneous trophies and finding collectibles. The 10 S ranks are very generous as there’s little difficulty in acquiring them and there are way more than 10 missions available in the game. Mission select is available at all times so nothing is missable, and there are no difficulty-related trophies either for an overall easy experience.

A full collectible guide can be found here Aragami 2 Collectible Guide (Blueprints & Golden Statues).

Step 1: Complete the Game, S-Ranks, finding all Collectibles along the way

Just focus on finishing the game and finding collectibles as you play missions to save time, they are never out of the way and are very quick to collect by using the Collectible Guide.

Step 2: Cleanup Ability-related Trophies, Level 30 and anything else

After finishing the game, now is the time to use mission select to obtain any other trophies you didn’t get while playing through the story. For the combat and stealth-related trophies that require certain abilities, you can reset your skills for a price at the dojo in Kakurega Village in order to learn the required skills for other trophies. If you are yet to reach level 30 you can repeat the final mission in 5-10 minutes for around 800xp.

First Steps

Master Ninja
Obtain an S-Rank in 10 missions
This is much easier than it sounds, there are far more than 10 missions in the game and you can use mission select if you fail to get an S rank. The game is also rather easy so you should have little trouble attaining 10 S ranks, this must be across 10 unique missions, you cannot S rank a single mission 10 times to unlock the trophy.

General Tips and advice:

  • Avoid being detected – This should go without saying, not being detected practically guarantees you an S rank and isn’t very difficult to pull off, especially on earlier missions.
  • Knock out enemies – Knocking enemies out grants a higher score bonus than killing. For example, I was still able to get an S rank even after being detected 2 or 3 times as knocking enemies out grants a bigger rank bonus, whereas if I got seen even once, even killing every enemy in the mission still only awarded me with an A rank. There is also no downside to knocking enemies out, they never wake up unless another enemy spots their knocked-out body.
  • Make use of shadow powers and passive abilities – There are many very useful abilities that will make your life easier, mesmerize and the upgraded version of whisper are very useful, as is the upgraded Dark Flame power and Wraith, as well as Shadow Pull later in the game. The passive ability Chameleon is also useful and can be acquired early on.
  • Take your time – Time taken per mission has no impact whatsoever, so feel free to go as fast, or slow as you want.

Note that the game doesn’t have a checkpoint system, but most missions are short, so you can easily re-attempt them if you make a mistake.

Hot Potato
Counter a fireball thrown by a Scorcher
Scorchers are the enemies with fiery fists that are most often located atop watchtowers or other vantage points that hurl fireballs at you. To counter a fireball you need to first unlock the ability Ranged Parry. Enter any mission, Securing Supplies or Ash Flower are good choices as they have a Scorcher right near the start atop a watchtower. Get detected by a Scorcher, press :triangle: at the right time to deflect the fireball back and unlock the trophy.
Get Over Here
Perform a Shadow Pull on a Gatekeeper
Shadow Pull is a shadow power that you can unlock further in to the game, this allows you to pull an enemy from far away and knock them out. You need to use this on a gatekeeper, these are the enemies wearing hats that never move from their position, there are many of them in every mission.
Anger Management
Charm an enraged Fanatic
Fanatics are enemies that wear red head scarvs and have red or green glowing eyes, with a red or green aura emanating from their swords, depending no how late in the game you are. They can be charmed by using berserker needles (purchasable from the blacksmith). Since Fanatics are classed as strong enemies, you cannot simply use a berserker needle on one, you need to lower their health sufficiently so they can be charmed. It’s recommended using a poison needle on one first from a stealth position, once it wears off the Fanatic’s health will be very low, now use a berserker needle on it and the trophy will unlock.
Look Behind You
Perform a Stealth Assassination on a Nenshö Aragami
Nenshö Aragami enemies appear later in the game and look very similar to your character, they are uncommon enemies and aren’t in many missions. They can usually be found perching on rooftops and sometimes shadow dashing back and forth every so often, they are also almost invisible but can be seen using Shadow Vision, simply stealth kill one of these for the trophy.
Soul Reaver
Kill 300 enemies
This will come naturally, simply kill 300 enemies by any means. Most missions have 40+ enemies in them, if you are actively killing this will unlock early on.
Sleeping on the Job
Knock out 100 enemies
You can get this very quickly if you choose to knock enemies out regularly, which you should do anyway since you get a higher ranking as opposed to killing. The only downside is that it’s slightly slower than killing.
Bird of Prey
Eliminate 25 enemies while airborne
This is achieved by jumping above an enemy and pressing :square: when prompted to kill them, this will unlock very early on, there are many chances to do this in every mission.
Clinging to Life
Eliminate 25 enemies while grabbed to a ledge
This is achieved by hanging on a ledge below an enemy and pressing :square: when prompted to kill them, this will unlock very early on, there are many chances to do this in every mission.
Wall Lizard
Eliminate 10 enemies while clinging to a wall
This is achieved by standing or crouching by any wall or object and pressing :square: when prompted to kill an enemy that is standing to the side of it, this will unlock very early on, there are many chances to do this in every mission.
Apex Predator
Eliminate 10 enemies while hiding in tall grass
This is achieved by crouching in any tall grass and stealth killing an enemy, this will be one of the first trophies you unlock, there are many chances to do this in every mission.
Forge of Assassins
Craft your first Equipment piece
Early on in the game you will unlock the blacksmith, here you can craft equipment by spending gold from ay blueprints you have found, equipment is purely cosmetic and offers no tactical advantage whatsoever. Simply craft one piece of any equipment type to unlock the trophy.
Engraved with Power
Apply your first Essence Runes
Essence runes are found from blueprint collectibles, you can apply these for various buffs and debuffs to your equipment at the blacksmith, simply do this once to unlock the trophy.
Tools of the Trade
Purchase a Support Item for the first time
Support items are introduced early on, they range from potions, to shurikens and more. Purchase any one of these at the blacksmith for the trophy.
Fashionable Assassin
Apply a Dye for the first time
The earliest you can obtain this trophy is after the mission Mysterious Assignment. Talk to Danjuro and you will be able to apply a dye to your clothing for the cost of 100 gold for the blue dye, which is the cheapest one available, simply apply this to any of your clothing or your sword to unlock the trophy.
Apprentice
Unlock an Ability
Once you unlock ability points you can spend them to upgrade your character. On the skill tree you have passive abilities that you can unlock for 1 skill point each, unlock any one of these for the trophy.
Control the Shadows
Unlock a Shadow Power
You will unlock this very early on. Once the game shows you how to upgrade your character using skill points, you will be forced into buying the Shadow Power: Whisper, which will unlock the trophy.
The Spirit of Vengeance
Reach Level 30
As you complete missions you earn XP which levels up your character. You also get bonus XP based on your ranking. If you consistently get S ranks the extra XP from this will add up across the whole playthrough and is very easy to pull off. When I finished the story I was level 26, this was with S ranking all but 1-2 missions.

After the story you can repeat missions, albeit for a lower XP reward than your initial completion, if you need to grind I recommend the final mission in Woods of Memory, Tsubuyaku, it’s not very long and still awards 616xp for every subsequent completion, with an S rank you’ll get 924xp and it can be completed in around 5 minutes if you are fast.

Signature Move
Perform a Shadow Kill
Shadow Kill is a shadow ability that you can unlock from the skill tree, simply purchase the ability for 2 skill points and use it on any enemy to unlock the trophy.
Legacy
Equip the armor of a legendary hero
For this trophy you need to purchase the Legacy Armor set and Orochi Sword, this is the same outfit worn by the protagonist of the previous game. You need to have found the blueprints for each piece and it’s very expensive so you won’t be able to afford this until late in the game. Later missions give you a lot more gold and you can also find it on missions. It’s highlighted green when using Shadow Sense. As long as you don’t spend all your gold on every possible armor, weapon, rune and dye you should be able to afford this around chapter 7, if not you will easily have enough gold by the time you reach level by having to repeat missions post game.

Legacy Hood – 5250
Legacy Attire – 3500
Legacy Trousers – 3500
Orochi Sword – 3500

Total cost – 15,750 Gold

The trophy for equipping the armor of a legendary hero….what armor is that? I don’t want to spend precious gold on an armor set that won’t net me the achievement.

Pretty sure it’s the “Legacy” armour. It’s what your character wore in the 1st game.

There is no cross save functionality unfortunately.

Thank god they got rid of the “kill every enemy in every level” trophy, this was incredibly annoying in the first game without the ability to see how many of them are left.

Thanks again for another excellent guide Powerpyx. I was rank 24 when I completed the story having S ranked 42/51 levels. The only thing I would add is that I felt the best level to grind post story XP on was mission 20 the Secret of Daikizo Mine. You earn 450 XP for an S rank on that one and once you learn the route it can be done in 1 minute and 34 secs. Other than the end game grind to reach rank 30 this was a decent trophy list.

Thanks for the guide! I got all the trophies except Spirit of Vengeance…after the final mission I jumped from level 29 to 31…is the trophy glitched or would I have to hit the new level cap of 48?

I just discovered a glitched trophy:

    ‘The Spirit of Vengeance’

This is normally unlocked by reaching level 30, and I did get this on the PS5 version.

I’m playing through the PS4 version now and I have just finished the final boss and because I was playing through the all the missions on Hard difficulty, I got a ton of XP, so by the time I had finished the game, I had reached level 32.

The trophy is supposed to pop as soon as you finish the mission you reach level 30 on, but it didn’t do it for me, maybe it’s because I had reached level 30 on the final boss, or maybe I broke it by going 2 levels over.

    I will update if necessary

I have the same issue as described above…in my view it could be one of 2 things:

      1. As you said maybe it is broken if you go over level thirty (I went from 29 to 31 in the last mission and I was also doing them on hard and did not get the trophy)
      2. There was an update that makes the level cap 48…maybe the trophy checks if you reached the level cap which was 30 before…

The devs have a support email which I tried but did not receive a response.
