Introduction

Welcome to the Redout 2 Trophy Guide! A love letter to anti-grav racing games like WipEout and F Zero, Redout 2 is an extremely fast paced anti-grav racer. Unlike the aforementioned games however, Redout 2 is a cross between arcade and simulation, with many different racing mechanics that you will need to master in order to complete this.

Fortunately the game comes with a wide array of Control Assists and difficulties that will allow anyone to learn the game, but few to master it. These Control Assists are very useful in the beginning to learn the game, but as you play it is recommended that you try and lower these Control Assists as much as you can while still being able to race comfortably, as having high Control Assists will make completing certain requirements harder.

The majority of the platinum is tied to Career mode, which is extremely long for a racing game, with over 350 events that take 50+ hours to complete (for comparison WipEout Omega Collection has only 227 events across 3 different campaigns). You will need to get a gold medal on many of the events, as well as acquire the bonus trophy (optional objective) on every single event. The game also has Online mode, on which you will need to win 50 races.

Some trophies may not pop immediately, in which case completing another event should unlock the trophy.

Glitch Note: In order to get Fashion Racer :silver: , you will need one of the DLC packs – Summer Pack (currently available) and Winter Pack (not yet available). Obtaining all cosmetic parts in the base game will not count for this so you will need to unlock some in the DLC to unlock the trophy.

Step 1: Complete the Career, work towards Bonus Trophies

Play through the Career, through the 4 different Leagues. When you start out, you may want to utilize the Control Assists to learn the game, but as you play it is recommended that you adjust these lower until you are comfortable racing with lower assists (I kept mine around 15%). This is because having higher assists will make it difficult to get really fast times on Time Attacks/Speed Events as the game overcompensates with assists. That being said, Flight Assists are very beneficial as it isn’t always clear where you need to land when doing certain jumps, and these will help with that considerably.

While playing through Career, you will unlock different chassis and vehicle modifications. The chassis will have different strengths and weaknesses, and it is recommended finding a few chassis you are comfortable using. I personally found Akhal-Tech and Sulha to be the best chassis to use overall, but you may prefer different chassis. You will also want to constantly upgrade your modifications to your preference. You will also unlock new trials occasionally, which are recommended to do as these are effectively further tutorials on the game mechanics.

Every event in Career will have a bonus trophy you can achieve, which are done by completing an optional objective. You will eventually need all of these, so it is recommended to attempt to achieve as many of these as you play to avoid clean up later on. You will also need all modules and aesthetic modifications, so try and achieve these where you can.

Step 2: Career Cleanup

Once you have completed the Career, you will likely have a lot to clean up. You will need to get all bonus trophies, chassis, modules and aesthetic modifications, which will require getting the majority of the stars available. You will also need to achieve 10 platinum medals across Time Attacks and Speed Events.

All of this will require mastering the different tracks at different speeds to achieve. Hopefully by this point you will be well versed with the controls and tracks and can work towards them all. This will be the hardest part of the platinum and is a serious investment.

Step 3: Online

Lastly, there is the Online mode. You will need to win 50 races, which can be done either in public lobbies or by boosting in private lobbies. There are several other trophies that you can work towards while getting these wins.

Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Bonus trophies are optional tasks you can complete in every event. Many of these can be gotten without trying (especially if you have the game difficulty set to Zero or Chill), but some you will need to go out of your way to achieve. In particular, winning Time Attacks with X second lead and qualifying in 1st position for some races are the hardest ones, as these require the most knowledge of tracks and racing cleanly in order to achieve them. Below is a list of all types of bonus trophies, as well as an explanation of how to achieve them:

  • Fastest lap time – As simple as it says, you will need to get a faster lap than any of the opponents. For the most part this should be pretty easy, especially on Zero or Chill difficulty, however you cannot see the fastest lap times of your opponents, so sometimes you won’t achieve this despite leading every lap.
  • Lead every lap – Finish every lap in first place. Easy enough, especially on Zero and Chill difficulty.
  • Reach a top speed of X or above – In order to hit required top speeds, you will usually need to utilize both hyperboost :r1: and regular boost :l1: with either boost pads on a long straight, or a big jump. If need be you can adjust your vehicle modifications to increase your Thrust or Top Speed.
  • Finish at or above X speed – Similar to the above bonus trophy, except you must finish the race at this speed. Utilize the same method, making sure not to scrape a wall during it. If you are about to cross the line and aren’t at the necessary speed, you can use Rewind :circle: to rewind back far enough to give it another attempt. Playing on Zero or Chill difficulty will give you unlimited Rewinds, so is very beneficial for this.
  • Win with X distance lead – Similar to many other race-based bonus trophies, this is a lot easier on Zero or Chill difficulty. You will want to race well to build a big enough lead, but being on lower difficulties will make many of these happen naturally.
  • Win with X second lead – These are only seen on Time Attack events, and you must beat the gold time by 1-5 seconds. These will require very good knowledge of the track, as well as clean racing so you aren’t crashing and maintaining high speeds. These can be easier if you come back to them after getting more game experience and better modifications. Using higher-tier Propulsors is a good way to get the extra speed necessary for these.
  • Fly X Distance (single jump or total) – For these you simply want to pitch back your vehicle as much as possible when doing jumps to jump as far as possible. In certain events you will need to detach from the race track off ramps to get extra jumps you wouldn’t normally do to in order to reach the required distances.
  • Perform X Perfect Landings – When performing jumps, your landing will be rated based on your tilt and pitch. Even these are both parallel to the track, then you will get a Perfect Landing. Your tilt can be adjusted with  :left: / :right: , and your pitch can be adjusted with  :r-up: / :r-down: . Utilizing Rewind :circle: is beneficial if you mess these up, as you can attempt them again. Playing on Zero or Chill difficulty will give you unlimited Rewinds, so is very beneficial for this. In certain events you will need to detach from the race track off ramps to get extra jumps you wouldn’t normally do, and these won’t give you a rating, but they will count if you land correctly.
  • Respawn a maximum number of times – Respawning occurs when your vehicle is destroyed, either by falling off the track or letting your hull integrity reach zero. In many instances this is null and void simply by playing on Zero or Chill difficulty and using Rewind :circle: any time you fail, as rewind can be used as many times as you like without voiding this bonus trophy. This however cannot be utilized on Speed Events, in which case you simply need to race carefully. You can do the bonus trophy and the regular speed trophies separately if need be.
  • Never reach full heat – Your heat bar will increase when boosting, and also when racing in certain areas of tracks with higher temperatures. This can be easily avoided by simply limiting your boosting as much as you can, and keeping an eye on your heat bar. This is especially prevalent on Tartarus Mines and Black Hole tracks, as these tracks have very high temperatures. Having a high Durability stat can help with this if needed.
  • Qualify in X position or better – Starting in A League, some race-type events will have a Time Attack-style qualification prior to the event that will determine your starting position. For these you will need to beat the fastest qualifying time. This will be similar to completing Time Attacks, so apply similar tactics here. Beating a fastest qualifying time will unlock Great Start :bronze: .
  • Grandslam – These are perhaps the hardest of the bonus trophies. A Grandslam requires you to get the pole position (1st place) during the qualifier, achieve the fastest lap during the race, lead every lap and win the race. Fortunately, once you qualify in pole position, you can restart the event as many times as needed while still starting in pole position, in the event you mess up. Unfortunately however, like mentioned earlier, you cannot see the fastest lap times of your opponents, so even when racing well, you may find that you simply do not achieve this upon completing the event because an opponent got a really fast lap time. Completing a Grandslam will unlock the trophy Grandslam bronze: .

Every Time Attack and Speed event in the career will have hidden platinum times/scores that you can achieve. These are usually a decent way ahead of the gold time/score, so they will require a very solid performance to achieve. These are best done after completing the career, as you will be very experienced with the game by that point, as well as know all the tracks. Utilizing higher-tier vehicle modifications is a good way to achieve these, especially by using higher-tier Propulsors to increase your Thrust and Top Speed. Unfortunately, there are currently no high scores or ghosts to view, so with the platinum requirements being hidden until you reach them, you will simply need to keep trying until you reach the requirement.

The medal scores were readjusted for Time Attack/Score events to match changes to the Thrust/Top Speed stats, but the platinum times/scores were not adjusted to match these. Due to this you will find that some platinum medals are actually easier than the gold medal, meaning you will likely get some of these naturally.

If you are struggling to achieve these, you may need to adjust your Assist Controls if you have been utilizing them. Assist Controls are beneficial when learning the game, but having them up too high will limit how quickly and cleanly you can race and will prove detrimental when trying to achieve platinum medals.

Below are the platinum medals I was able to achieve and the scores/times required for them.

Time Attack:

  • Sands-of-Time Championship – Old Cairo: Tahrir – 1:23.019 (B League)
  • WRG Tourney – Cloud Ocean: Aura Reverse – 1:52.838 (B League)
  • WRG Tourney – Cloud Ocean: Libeccio – 2:16.144 (B League)
  • Zenith and Nadir – Mount Fuji: Dragon’s Gates – 1:31.426 (A League)
  • Dragon’s Time Trial – Mount Fuji: Dragon’s Gates – 1:30.940 (A League)
  • Magna Appreciation Open – Mars Memorial: Faith Town – 1:27.816 (A League)
  • Ferox 1st Cooler Fiesta – Cloud Ocean: Libeccio – 3:18.289 (A League)
  • The Air Gods Trial – Cloud Ocean: Mistral – 1:26.654 (A League)
  • The Hurricane Rush – Cloud Ocean: Aura Reverse – 1:42.308 (S League)
  • Armoden Armed Contest – Genesis: Cain’s Flats – 2:17.038 (S League)

Speed:

  • Sakura Rush – Mount Fuji: Dragon’s Gates – 1,301 Points (S League) – lower than Gold score

There is an exploit you can utilize on certain Speed events, where if you find a section of the track you can fly off and respawn back there, you can repeatedly fly off a far distance to maximize points. This won’t work in many locations that you can fall off as you will either hit an invisible wall too quickly which will make it inefficient, you will be going the wrong direction which gives you 0 points regardless of speed, or simply will respawn you too far forward to constantly repeat this method. Below are the tracks I was able to utilize this exploit on:

  • Unshackled Sprint – Tartarus Mines: Ixion Reverse – 980 Points (A League)
  • Downtown Speedtown – Neo Tokyo: Neo Roppongi – 920 Points (A League)
  • Hyperlight Velocity – Neo Tokyo: Neo Roppongi – 1,110 Points (SRRL Invitational)

This can be done in either public or private lobbies. The game is pretty dead, so it may prove difficult doing this legitimately in public lobbies.

Instead, you can choose to boost this with another account. By pressing :r2: you can create a party, and then start either a private or public lobby. Starting a private lobby will allow you to select which track you race on, so you can repeatedly do the shortest tracks to make this faster. The fastest tracks are either Neo Calima (Cairo) or Voyager (Black Hole). You can adjust the lap count in private lobbies, so you can do 1 lap instead of 3 laps like in public lobbies. There is also timeout period, so if you were to self-boost this, you can leave the second account completely untouched without it disconnecting.

If you are unable to boost or choose not to, you may find long wait times while trying to find lobbies. Having Career experience before doing this is recommended, as you cannot use Rewind online so without knowledge of race tracks you will likely fall off the harder tracks constantly.

This will require you to grind against walls or the ground 20 times in a single race. Glitched (Requires DLC).

In order to get this trophy, you will need one of the DLC packs – Summer Pack (currently available) and Winter Pack (not yet available). Obtaining all aesthetic modifications in the base game will not count for this so you will need to unlock some in the DLC to unlock the trophy.

This is the hardest trophy in the game, and will require earning nearly all the stars in the Career. In order to unlock all aesthetic modifications, you will need to get all 4 Stars on every individual event (gold and bonus trophy), 9 Stars on all 3-event tournaments, and 12 Stars on all 4-event tournaments. Many of the regular race types (race, arena race, last man standing, boss) are made trivial by utilizing Zero or Chill difficulty (with the exception of some bonus trophies), but completing all Time Attack and Speed events will require mastering the respective race tracks to complete them all.

In order to complete all of these, it is recommended to use higher-tier vehicle modifications on the lower events to make them easier, and use lower (or no) Control Assists, as these will ultimately slow you down if they are too high. Find a level that you are comfortable with and still able to complete gold and bonus trophies.

Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap Great Start
Get pole position in a qualifier
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Qualifiers are introduced in the Career during the A League, and are essentially Time Attack events prior to the race itself to determine your starting position. Pole position requires getting the fastest qualifying time. These usually require utilizing higher-tier vehicle modifications with high Thrust and Top Speed stats, as well as good knowledge of the tracks themselves to race cleanly. Many bonus trophies will require you to achieve a pole position, so this will come while going for those.
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap Grandslam
Get a grandslam (pole, led every lap, fastest lap, win race)
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap
A Grandslam requires you to get the pole position (1st place) during the qualifier, achieve the fastest lap during the race, lead every lap and win the race. Fortunately once you qualify in pole position, you can restart the event as many times as needed while still starting in pole position, in the event you mess up. Unfortunately however, you cannot see the fastest lap times of your opponents, so even when racing well, you may find that you simply do not achieve this upon completing the event because an opponent got a really fast lap time. Several bonus trophies will require you achieve a grandslam, so this will come while going for those.
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap Beat you to it!
Win a race with a 0.01s lead
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap
This is a very tedious and frustrating trophy to actively attempt. If you want to avoid this, while playing through Career you can set the game difficulty to whatever difficulty is closest to your own ability, so that you are regularly finishing races with the opponents nearby. When nearing the end of the race, you can use boost or brake to try and get the finish as close as possible. On lower difficulties, you can utilize Rewind as much as you like to try and get the perfect finish.

Alternatively, you can do this in Arcade, which will be easier as you as choose whichever track you like and set it to 1 lap, so you can attempt it more frequently. Another method you can try is doing this online with two consoles, getting to the end and then crossing the finish line with both simultaneously. This is a more tedious method as you will need to race with both consoles, but it’s more consistent using this method.

There is a positive glitch where this may simply unlock after completing a race without meeting the requirement. This appears to be quite rare, but if you are lucky this will happen while playing through Career.

Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap He who laughs last…
Win a race after having qualified in last place
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Simply win any race after getting last place during the qualifier. If you skip a qualifier you will automatically be in last place, so this will likely come naturally during Career as there are many qualifiers that you simply do not need to participate in.
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap Blurred photofinish
Cross the finish line at 1500 kph (932 mph) or higher
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap
This will likely come naturally, and is done many times during Career for bonus trophies. Simply utilize a combination of boost, hyperboost and boost pads at the end of a race to cross the finish line at 1500km or higher.
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap Running at the speed of sound
Average a speed of 1234 kph (767 mph) in an event
Redout 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap
This will come naturally, either by playing online as you will have the highest-tier vehicle modifications or during SRRL Invitational in the Career.
