Final Fantasy 16 (XVI) All Potion & Inventory Upgrade Locations

Final Fantasy XVI has 4 Upgrades consisting of 2 Potion Potency Upgrades and 2 Potion Capacity Upgrades. Fully upgrading consumable potency and inventory slots to their maximum is needed for the “With Two Ds” trophy. They increase how much each potion heals or how long buffs from potions last. They also increase the inventory size for potions thus allowing you to carry more.

None of the Upgrades are missable. They all come as automatic rewards from side quests. The relevant side quests are still available after the story in free-roam. After the story you can create a “clear save” and reload this save to still free-roam and complete all relevant side content.

The needed quests will be marked by a green “+” sign on the map, unlike regular side quests that are marked by a green “!” icon. This makes it easy to tell which quests are important.

Consumable Potency Upgrade #1

Reward from The Root of the Problem side quest. This starts in The Hideaway and becomes available in Main Quest #37: After the Storm. Increases consumable potency.

Inventory Size Upgrade #1

Reward from completing Weird Science side quest. This starts in The Hideaway and becomes available in Main Quest #47: Letting Off Steam III. Increases carry capacity of potions and buffs.

Consumable Potency Upgrade #2

Reward from Please Sir, Can I have Some Morbol side quest. This starts in The Hideaway and becomes available in Main Quest #59: Like Father, Like Daughter and after side quest The Root of the Problem. Increases consumable potency.

Inventory Size Upgrade #2

Reward from completing side quest Even Weirder Science. This starts in The Hideaway and becomes available in Main Quest #62: Across the Narrow and after side quest Weird Science. Maximizes carry capacity of potions and buffs.
