Dead Island 2 Diaries of the Dead Walkthrough

Diaries of the Dead is a Side Quest in Dead Island 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Diaries of the Dead side mission.

Starting Location: Venice Beach
Counts Towards Side Quest Completion in Region: Venice Beach
Quest Giver: W.O. Rodriguez
Requirement: Having Finished Side Quest: Cremains of the Day
Reward: 3500XP, Burst-Fire Carbine
Mission Info: The plan to deliver the fallen soldiers’ last letters home fell through due to a mysterious satellite uplink blockage. You’ll just have to take them with you when you eventually escape the city! Sure, it’s more pressure to get out alive, but Rodriguez believes you can pull it off.

Objectives:

• Locate the swarmed convoy
• Search the convoy for a memory stick
• Incoming! Kill ’em all!
• Kill the Signal Officer! He has the key card you need!
• Grab the comms area key card
• Advance to the USMC comms area
• Upload the fallen soldiers’ letters
• Upload in progress! Mop ’em up!
• “Upload failed”? What happened?
• Pull back and regroup at the Tower
• Debrief with Warrant Officer Rodriguez

Starting Location: Diaries of the Dead

Locate the swarmed convoy

Follow the quest marker to the convoy near the tower.

Search the convoy for a memory stick

The memory stick is in a laptop in the middle truck.

Incoming! Kill ’em all!

There will be four waves of enemies, kill them all to proceed.

Kill the Signal Officer! He has the key card you need!

After killing all 4 waves of enemies, an officer will appear. Kill him for the key card.

Grab the comms area key card

Once you killed the officer, pick up his key card.

Advance to the USMC comms area

Now follow the quest marker into the comms area to find the satellite.

Upload the fallen soldiers’ letters

Interact with the satellite to start the upload.

Upload in progress! Mop ’em up!

Another wave of enemies will come after you, kill them all.

“Upload failed”? What happened?

The upload will fail, interact with the satellite again.

Pull back and regroup at the Tower

Follow the quest marker back to the tower.

Debrief with Warrant Officer Rodriguez

Talk to Rodriguez in the tower.

This finishes Diaries of the Dead Side Quest in Dead Island 2.
