Dishonored 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap

November 10, 2016 by PowerPyx 46 Comments

Dishonored 2 Trophy Roadmap

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 4/10
  • Approximate amount of time to platinum: ~20 hours
  • Offline Trophies: 51 (38trophy, 10trophy, 2trophy, 1trophy)
  • Number of missable trophies: 43 (almost everything)
  • Glitched trophies: 0
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: No
  • Minimum Playthroughs: 2 (3 recommended)

Step 1: Complete Game with Emily Kaldwin, Get High Chaos, Find All Collectibles

This is going to be your lethal, non-stealth run to get high chaos. It’s better to start with this run so you can get to know the levels and find shortcuts. This will make the stealth run much easier on the next playthrough. Also get all collectibles required for trophies (decorations for your ship, find 60% of all possible loot, paintings, some runes and bonecharms). With “loot” the game means money, so you’ll need a total of 18,000 coins to unlcok the trophy “Well Funded”.

Also work on the miscellaneous and missable trophies. You can use this YouTube Playlist along the way (all videos in mission order): Dishonored 2 Trophy Guide Playlist.

You are advised to make a manual save game at the start of every chapter. There is no chapter select in this game! So the only way to go back and mop up a quick trophy is via a manual save.

Step 2: Complete Game with Corvo Attano, Stay Undetected, Don’t kill anyone, Get Low Chaos

On the second playthrough you are going to do the exact opposite and play stealthily without killing anyone. This will get you the trophy for Low Chaos. At the end of every mission you see an overview of your total kills and detections. Furthermore, you can check out the “Stats” in the main menu at any time to ensure you haven’t been detected. If you missed some trophies on the first run you can still get them here (sometimes it’s easier to just rush through to get a quick trophy, then reload the latest save to keep playing stealthily from that point on). I find Corvo better for stealth because of his ability to freeze time and the increased teleport distance.

Step 3: Flesh and Steel trophy & Mop-Up

The Flesh and Steel trophy requires you to beat the game without the use of supernatural powers. While this is easy to do it doesn’t fit in so well with the other two playthroughs. When exploring the world for collectibles you’ll often be using the Blink/Far Reach power and when doing the stealth run your powers are absolutely vital to get through it. Since the game can be speedrunned in less than 1 hour it would be best to make an extra playthrough for this trophy. Should you still be missing any other trophies you now have a chance to mop them up.

The Beast Within
Dealt with Dr. Alexandria Hypatia
This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed, it will unlock in the third mission upon defeating “The Crown Killer” Dr. Alexandria Hypatia. You have to talk to her in the morgue after getting the key from her office. It doesn’t matter if you kill her or cure her for this.
Labyrinthine Mind
Found Anton Sokolov in the Clockwork Mansion
This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed, it will unlock in the fourth mission upon finding Sokolov in the basement of Clockwork Mansion.
A Night in 1849
Visited the past
This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed, it will unlock during Mission 7 upon using the Time Piece.
Spirit Thief
Took Delilah’s soul
This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed, it will unlock during Mission 8 upon stealing Deliah’s soul.
Down with the Duke
Eliminated Duke Luca Abele
In mission 8 you must find Abele and his body double. The real Abele has a key to the safe on his belt (which you can pickpocket). When you found the real Abele go talk to him (press Square). Now use the dialogue option “Luca Abele pay for your crimes” and kill him. You can also kill him straight away without talking to him. He is marked as a main objective.
The Greatest Gift
Saved your last known family member
This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed, it is unlocked upon beating the story (mission 9).
Freedom of Speech
Save the Printer of the Dunwall Courier

Mission 1 – A Long Day in Dunwall
On the streets of Dunwall (after escaping the palace) you will pass by a place called “Dunwall Courier”. It’s a building on the left of the road before going to the harbor. Go to the top floor and you’ll see the Printer being threatened by a soldier. Stab the soldier and talk to the Printer afterwards (he will run into a side room). The trophy unlocks after the dialogue.

Morbid Theft
Steal a corpse for Mindy Blanchard

Mission 2 – Edge of the World
When this mission starts go straight to the Black Market shop and climb out the window on the back. There is a woman here called Mindy Blanchard. Talk to her and complete her side quest, then the trophy unlocks.
She wants you to get a certain dead body from the Overseer Outpost and bring it to her.

Stay of Execution
Stop the Grand Guard from pushing someone into the Wall of Light

Mission 2 – Edge of the World
Shortly after the start of the mission you will come to a “Wall of Light”. This is a type of electric barrier that kills everyone not authorized to pass through. Two enemies will try to push a civilian into it. Quickly kill the enemies before they execute the civilian.

Fearless Fall
Drop from Addermire’s highest point and take out an enemy below

Mission 3 – The Good Doctor
When the third mission starts go straight to the rooftop of the hospital. You can either use the elevator or your traversal powers to get up there. Stand on the arch (edge of rooftop) and jump down onto an enemy. You must kill the enemy by pressing R2 / RT (melee button) just before you hit the ground.
You can lure enemies to specific locations by shooting the crossbow or throwing an explosive (the crossbow is best for this). The enemies will investigate the impact point of your crossbow bolt. This makes it much easier to get them in a good position for you to jump on.

Counter-serum
Chat with Dr. Hypatia aboard the Dreadful Wale

Mission 3 – The Good Doctor
During this mission one of your main objectives is to talk to Dr. Hypatia. To get the trophy you must cure her by crafting the anti-serum. DO NOT KILL HER! If you kill her you cannot get the trophy.
When you talk to her in the morgue check for a dying patient in the back of the room. He gives you a side quest and the combination to a safe. Grab the counter-serum formula from the safe and craft it. Then inject it into Dr. Hypatia by doing a non-lethal takedown on her (R1 on PS4 / RB on XB1).

Finish the mission and you will be aboard the Dreadful Wale (your ship / hub area). Now talk to Dr. Hypatia on the ship to earn the trophy.

Place of Three Deaths
Kill Paolo three times

HIGHLY MISSABLE!
This trophy takes place over multiple missions (Mission 4 & Mission 6). The first kill opportunity comes up in mission 4. After that you must play all the way to mission 6 for the remaining 2 opportunities.

Kill #1 (Mission 4): At the very start of the mission go to the black market shop. Upon exiting the shop you will have an encouter with Paolo. Kill him here. Easy to miss this one! If you missed it you can either reload an older save game or do it in a new game.
Kill #2 (Mission 6): Paolo is marked as a main objective. Investigate the hideout of the Howler gang to find him.
Kill #3 (Mission 6): After the last kill, Paolo will turn into a group of rats and respawn upstairs in the Howler’s hideout. He is again marked as a main objective. Take him out one last time, this time he will stay dead and not come back.

Killing him will void the “Clean Hands” trophy (for not killing anyone in a playthrough). So make sure you do it on a high chaos playthrough.

Silence
Eliminate Jindosh without him ever knowing you were there

Mission 4 – The Clockwork Mansion
Halfway through the mission you will reach the “Clockwork Mansion” which is sort of a palace. In here you have to take out Jindosh, the main target of your mission.

To get the trophy you can’t activate any of the switches around the mansion and cannot be seen by enemies. When activating a switch the mansion will change its layout or you hear an audio message from Jindosh (this will let him know you are there). The enemies and clockworks aren’t allowed to be alerted either. At the end I took out Jindosh with a headshot from the crossbow.
Stay behind the walls, climb through windows etc. to get through the mansion undetected. You are allowed to use the elevator at the end. A clockwork will walk near the elevator but it usually doesn’t notice you.

Oracular Echoes
Listen to the voices of the Sisters of the Oracular Order

Mission 5 – The Royal Conservatory
After getting past the first wall of light you will come to an area with a watchtower and yet another wall of light. Make your way through that area and you’ll reach a huge building with lots of witches (same building where you have to defeat the main target). In the main hall go up the first flight of stairs. There’s a sort of shrine on the balcony with blue glowing markings on the ground. It also has drawings of blue aliens and a machine with a switch. Activate the switch to trigger the voices. Activate it a total of 3 times to listen to all the voices. Just wait there until they are done talking.

Howlers ’til the End
Side with the Howlers in the Dust District
Mission 6 – Dust District

In this mission you have two main objectives – kill the Vice Overseer or kill Paolo. The choice is up to you. Delivering the body of one gang leader to the opposing gang will win their trust and give you one of two trophies. For this you must deliver the Vice Overseer to Paolo.

Faithful to the Abbey
Side with the Overseers in the Dust District
Mission 6 – Dust District

In this mission you have two main objectives – kill the Vice Overseer or kill Paolo. The choice is up to you. Delivering the body of one gang leader to the opposing gang will win their trust and give you one of two trophies. For this you must deliver Paolo to the Vice Overseer.

Eureka
Crack the Jindosh Lock without finding the solution elsewhere

Mission 6 – Dust District
Since the Jindosh Lock Combination is randomized you will have to use some trickery to find your solution. It will be different for every player and change with each playthrough. But this method will work every time:

Step 1: Create a manual save game at the start of the mission when talking to Meagan Foster (before killing either of the Gang bosses).
Step 2: Kill and deliver one of the gang bosses to the other. They will then give you the combination for your Jindosh lock. Write down the combination.
Step 3: Reload the save game you made earlier in Step 1. Now go to the Jindosh lock and enter the code you got in Step 2.

By reloading the old save you can trick the game. This is also extremely useful for your stealth run. Do the same procedure, then reload the old save and enter the code to skip the entire mission! Upon opening the Jindosh lock the mission will end.

Under the Table
Obtain Stilton’s Master Key from under the table, with the guards there conscious & unalerted

Mission 7 – A Crack in the Slab
Shortly after the mission starts you will receive a new item called the “Timepiece” which allows you to time travel.
Immediately after getting the Timepiece go to the far end of the corridor. Switch between past and present time to get through it undetected. By pressing Square (PS4) / X (XB1) you can see where enemies are in the other timeline.
The Master Key is in the room at the end of the corridor. Switch to present time when you enter the room, crawl under the table, switch to past time and pick up the key.

Flooded Basement
Drain the water to recover a Rune

Mission 7 – A Crack in the Slab
This can be done immediately after getting the Timepiece (a story-related item that lets you time travel). Leave the room where you obtain the Timepiece. Switch to the past. In the long corridor go through the first door on the right, jump up the shelf in the kitchen, switch to present time, go through the opening in the wall. Now you’re in a new area. Go around the left side and down to the basement. Make sure you are in past time. There are two soldiers in the basement. Near them is a crank-wheel and a hole in the wall. Throw the crank through the hole. Switch to present time and place the wheel on the underwater pipe. Now you can drain the water and reveal this very well hidden rune.

Dilapidation
Find the hidden balcony passageway

Mission 7 – A Crack in the Slab
This can be done immediately after getting the Timepiece (a story-related item that lets you time travel). Leave the room where you obtain the Timepiece. Switch to the past. In the long corridor go through the first door on the right, jump up the shelf in the kitchen, switch to present time, go through the opening in the wall. Now you’re in a new area with a balcony. In the past you must shoot the two support beams of the balcony. When you switch back to present time the balcony will have collapsed. Climb up to unlock the trophy.

Years Ago, Another Time
Heard Meagan Foster’s story

Mission 9 – Dreadful Wale
This can be done on the ship (hub area) between mission 8 and 9. Go to the upper deck where Meagan is. Pickpocket her key and open the door downstairs with it. In here you find an Audiograph and Notebook. Pick them up and the trophy unlocks.

Gazebo
Pay tribute to Jessamine one last time

Mission 9 – Death to the Empress
Early in this mission you’ll have to enter the courtyard of Dunwall Tower. There are many witches gathered around the courtyard / garden area. In the garden there’s a memorial for Jessamine. Interact with it to unlock the trophy.

Familiarity Breeds Contempt
Rob Galvani multiple times

HIGHLY MISSABLE!
This trophy / achievement takes place over two missions (Mission 1 & Mission 9). If you didn’t rob Galvani in the first mission you’ll have to replay the entire game to get it.

Mission #1: After jumping down to the Dunwall City Streets you must go into the first building on the left side (when facing the next objective marker). There’s a safe in here. The combination is behind the painting in the same room. Grab the stuff from the safe.

Mission #9: Exact same location as before. Except this time you come from a different direction (from harbor to dunwall tower). Just open Galvani’s safe again using the same code.

Occult Carver
Craft 10 Bonecharms
First you must buy the enhancement “Bonecharm Crafting” (under Powers). This allows you to craft Bonecharms.

Now go to the Bonecharms tab (next to the Powers tab when you press touchpad). Here you can craft Bonecharms using Raw Whalebone as a resource. Raw Whalebone can be found throughout missions. A much quicker strategy is to buy the “Craft Runes” enhancement which gives you 8 whalebone for dismatling a rune. To unlock crafting traits you must dismantle bonecharms you’ve found. Craft the cheapest bonecharm with 2 traits. You can dismantle your crafted bonecharms again to get the resources back. Just craft the same type of bonecharm 10 times and the trophy will unlock. The crafted bonecharms can all have the same traits and you are allowed to dismantle them right away to make a new one. As soon as you’ve found 10-11 runes you are good to go (9 to buy the required enhancements, 1-2 to dismantle for raw whalebone).

Heartbeat Reaper
Eliminated 6 enemies in less than 1.5 seconds

Mission 2 – Edge of the World
Shortly after getting past the Wall of Light you will come to Addermire Station, a huge train station with several enemies and another Wall of Light inside. Behind the registration is an armory. Here you can find several grenades. Pick them up and alert all the enemies around the building. Lure them to the armory and then throw one of the grenades when they are standing close together in the room. The grenades have a huge blast radius and will instant-kill all enemies. You can easily get 10+ kills here if you lure enough enemies.

Fatal Redirect
Kill an enemy with their own bullet

To do this you need the skills “Reflexes” and “Superior Deflection”. This will cost 3 runes total. Both characters Emily and Corvo have these skills.

Now all projectiles shot at you will be deflected to the nearest enemy while blocking. Hold the block-button and look for an enemy with a pistol. They wear red clothing – the first few can be found in mission 2. You can damage them with your sword if you want. Only the final hit has to be their own bullet. Take out all other enemies in the area so the bullets aren’t redirected to them.

Circle of Life
Cast Possession once, chaining between human, hound, rat, fish, and bloodfly

HIGHLY MISSABLE!
Mission 5 – The Royal Conservatory
For this you must play as Corvo and buy all of his possession skills by the time you reach mission 5 (costs 13 runes). If you spend too many runes on other stuff, or don’t find enough runes you cannot do this. If you play as Emily you cannot do it either.
Only Corvo has the necessary skill powers.

In the area with the watch tower (after first wall of light) make sure you aren’t spotted and don’t kill anyone. Go to the spot in the video and possess the hound, rats, bloodfly, human and fish (in that order). You have very limited time for this. After a few seconds the possession ends so you must be quick. Make a manual backup save before entering the area with the watch tower. That way you can retry if you mess up.

Ghostly
Finish an entire mission without being spotted
See “Shadow” trophy for beating the game without being seen.
Alternative Approach
Finish an entire mission with no casualties
See “Clean Hands” trophy for beating game without killing anyone.
Black Market Burglar
Rob a black market shop

Mission 2 – Edge of the World
At the start of the second mission go through the bloodfly infested building all the way to the upper floor. Here you will find an infected enemy and the key to the black market shop. Pick up the key and return to the black market at the start of the mission. Climb through the window behind the shop and open the door with the key.

Souvenirs
Collect all the decorative objects for the Dreadful Wale

Dishonored 2 has 10 Decorative Objects for the Dreadful Wale. Finding all locations unlocks the “Souvenirs” Trophy & Achievement.

The Decorative Objects are scattered across the 9 main missions. In between missions you will come to the Dreadful Wale (your ship, the hub area). Here in the starting room you can see the decorations that have been found (sitting on the shelf).
All of these collectibles are missable because there is no mission select! You are advised to make a manual save at the start of every mission. In case you missed one you can reload that save and replay from there. Without a backup you’d have to restart the entire story if you miss one.
Everything can be reached as either Corvo or Emily. It doesn’t matter what character you choose. When playing as Corvo you should upgrade the Blink range as soon as possible to reach certain places.

The collectible progress is only saved when you trigger an auto-save or manual save. If you die without saving you have to pick them up again. It’s best to save after every collectible.
Mission 6 has two Decorative Objects, every other mission has exactly one. Some of them require you to kill certain enemies while others are physical collectibles that you need to pick up.

Each mission features an open world design. This means you can free roam as you like and reach any place at any time, but only if you don’t finish the mission. Once you leave the mission you cannot go back. This also makes it easy to work on multiple collectible types at once (for trophies you need all Decorative Objects, All Paintings, All Journals and Audiographs on the Dreadful Wale). For example: go after the one Decorative Object and then collect the Paintings. The other collectibles are on the Dreadful Wale in between missions.

For timestamps to each painting & a chapter breakdown see this link: Dishonored 2 Decoravite Object Locations

Well Funded
Find 60% of available loot
This trophy unlocks upon finding 18,000 money in one playthrough. This is best done on a high chaos playthrough on easy difficulty. Here you can kill and loot all the enemies which gives you some quick money (around 6000-7000 comes from looting enemies). Each painting collectible is worth 200 coins (27 paintings x 200 coins = 5400 coins). Also go through all buildings carefully and loot everything, open as many safes as possible etc.

When you choose to play without powers Rune Collectibles convert into money as well. At the start of mission 2 you’ll be asked by the outsider whether to accept his mark. Here you can decline his offer (No Powers mode) and all Runes convert into 200 coins.

In the Stats of the Pause Menu you can see how much money you have found on the current playthrough. 60% of loot is equal to 18,000 money. Just try to pick up everything you come across.

See trophy “Art Collector” for painting locations.

Heart Whispers
Using the Heart, listen to the secrets of 40 different people
You automatically get the heart early in the game.  While having the heart equipped you must aim at 40 different civilians / soldiers and press L2. Then the heart will tell you their secrets. You have to do this to 40 DIFFERENT people over the course of the story (cannot do this 40 times on the same NPC). There are lots of enemies and civilians in mission 2, that’s the earliest you could get this trophy.
Art Collector
Acquire all collectible paintings

Dishonored 2 has 27 Collectible Paintings. Finding all Painting Locations unlocks the “Art Collector” Trophy & Achievement.

The Paintings are scattered across the 9 main missions. At the end of every mission you can see how many you’ve found. Always double check that you got all of them before proceeding.

The Paintings also give you 200 coins each which counts towards the trophy “Well Funded” (get 18,000 money in one playthrough). The 27 paintings give you 5400 coins in total.

For timestamps to each painting & a chapter breakdown see this link: Dishonored 2 Painting Locations

Clockwork Collector
Obtain numbered plates for 3 Clockwork Soldiers

Mission 4 – The Clockwork Mansion
You can do this inside the mansion of mission 4 (where you have to find and eliminate Jindosh). Throughout the mansion you encounter robots that will attack when causing trouble or making a lot of noise. You must destroy 3 of those Clockwork Robots and then pick up their plaque from the floor after they self-destruct.
Start by taking their head off (either with a ranged weapon or hold the melee button for a range strike). It should only take 2-3 hits to take the head off. Now run around them in circles and just hit all body parts with your sword until the yellow armor falls off. They will blow themselves up after taking too much damage. In the rubble they leave behind is the plaque you must collect.

Rogue
Eliminate 20 unaware enemies
Sneak up to an unaware enemy and kill them or knock them out. The takedowns can be lethal or non-lethal. You should get this naturally on your stealth playthrough.
Acrobat
Eliminate 10 enemies with Drop Assassination
When you jump down onto an enemy press R2 or R1 to perform a Drop Assassination. There are many opportunities for this during the story. You can climb to a higher place by using blink/far reach. It can also be farmed via checkpoint restart. The first good opportunity is in Mission 1 when you leave the Tower and go to Dunwall Streets. You’ll get a little tutorial message about dropdown kills and an enemy is conveniently placed below you. You could farm it here but it will most likely unlock naturally over time anyway.
Shadow
Finish the game without being spotted
At the end of every mission you’ll get a statistics screen that shows how many times you were spotted. This always has to be 0 in all missions in one playthrough.

Make a manual save at the start of every mission (and each time you get past a difficult area). If you mess up you can quickly reload and retry without having to start a new game.

Personally, I like Corvo for this. His blink is better for stealth than Emily’s Far Reach ability (harder for enemies to see you and faster teleportation). His ability to completely freeze time is like cheating and lets you run through entire levels without the enemies knowing you were ever there. You can choke out enemies and hide them all while time is frozen and nobody will ever know you were there.

Emily on the other hand, has a useful ability called “Domino” which lets you link multiple targets. If you knock out one of them all the other linked targets will get knocked out as well. Or if you shoot them with sleep darts they all get knocked out instantly even though you only hit one of them.

In the game stats you can also check how many times you were seen. This has to be zero for the entire playthrough. If in doubt check the statistics and reload last save. Make good use of the abilities described above. Also remember you don’t have to stay on street level where the enemies are. You can almost always find shortcuts and use blink/far reach to get to higher vantage points and sneak past everyone undetected. Don’t let enemies find any bodies or notice your kills as that can alert them.

The trickiest part is the final boss fight against Delilah. To stay unseen you must craft the corrupted rune. This is a side objective but can be tricky to find. It’s inside dunwall tower. That’s the big royal main tower after making your way through the garden with the witches. After entering the tower you see an elevator in front of you. Pick up the note from the elevator then climb over the bookshelves on the left side of the hallway (the left of where you entered the tower). Now go through the next room in a straight line and you’ll come to a statue with a few more bookshelves you can climb. Climb over those bookshelves and you’re almost there. Stick to the far left of the next corridor (where some witches are walking around). At the end of the corridor there’s a small side room. Upon entering you receive a side objective to craft the corrupted rune. Use 3 ingredients from the room to craft it. Now play through the mission until you meet Delilah in the throne room. Use the heart on her (from behind to avoid being seen). Before entering the picture frame you must place the corrupted  rune on her throne. Now enter the frame. From where you spawn, the real Delilah is on the hill above you. Do NOT go to the one on the throne in front of you. Turn to your right (from where you spawn in the picture frame) and climb the tall rock. The true Delilah is up there and you must choke her out (press R1). Carry her unconscious body back the way you came – outside the picture frame – and put her back on her real throne. The corrupted rune will do the rest and trap Delilah in her dream. She’ll never know you were there and you can skip fighting her body doubles altogether.

Flesh and Steel
Complete the game without supernatural powers
You must complete an entire playthrough without using any of your character’s supernatural powers (magic abilities). At the start of mission 2 you will be asked if you want to “Receive the Mark of the Outsider?”. Here you choose the option “Reject the offer (No Powers Mode)”. The game will once again ask you to confirm “Play without supernatural powers” which you must confirm with yes.

Now you won’t have any powers during your playthrough and earn the trophy at the end.

It would be easiest to do a playthrough where you focus on just that trophy. Exploring for collectibles or beating the game in stealth will be hard without the use of your powers. So just do a quick speedrun for this. The game can be speedrunned in less than 1 hour once you are familiar with the levels. You can run past most enemies on easy difficulty or just take them out in combat.

The Royal Protector
Finish the game with Corvo Attano
At the start of the game, after the first set of cutscenes you will get to choose your character in the throne room. There are two characters. To earn this trophy you must select Corvo and finish a full story playthrough with him.
The Empress
Finish the game with Emily Kaldwin
At the start of the game, after the first set of cutscenes you will get to choose your character in the throne room. There are two characters. To earn this trophy you must select Emily and finish a full story playthrough with her.
In Good Conscience
Complete the game in low chaos
Low Chaos is rewarded for killing less than 20% of all enemies in the game. You can either go through the game stealthily or simply just rush past all enemies and do a speedrun, completly ignoring all enemies. You can speedrun the game in under an hour and just run past everyone to get low chaos in the end. Eliminating bosses / main targets by non-lethal means also helps with this (e.g. knock them out, use sleep darts, save Dr. Hypatia with the anti-serum).
Empire in Chaos
Complete the game in high chaos
High Chaos is rewarded for killing more than 20% of all enemies in the game. So just go through the levels aggressively, get detected and kill everyone you come across. This is best done on easy difficulty. It’s good to combine this with the search for collectibles and miscellaneous trophies. Many collectibles and trophies are easier to get when killing enemies. To check your chaos ranking go to the save games and it will say whether you are low chaos or high chaos.
The Lovers
Link 2 characters with Domino just before one kills the other

CAN ONLY BE DONE AS EMILY KALDWIN!
You must buy the skill “Domino”. Only Emily has this skill, Corvo doesn’t. You can select your character at the start of the game after the first few cutscenes.

Once you have the skill link two enemies with it (hold L2 / LT to link them). Now choke one of them (R1 / RB). While choking one enemy the other has to attack you. He will hit his choking comrade in the process. This will kill both of them instantly. Since the attacking enemy is linked to the one being choked he essentially kills himself.
The first chance to do this is in mission 2. You can do it anywhere after this point.

Songs of Serkonos
Find 3 musical duos across Karnaca, and listen to their songs

HIGHLY MISSABLE!
If you rob too many black market shops the last musical duo won’t spawn! When going for this trophy you should not rob any black markets to be safe.

This trophy takes place over 3 different missions:

Mission #2 – Edge of the World:
The musical duo can be found at the market before entering Addermire Station.

Mission #6 – Dust District:
In the Howler’s gang hideout. Must enter stealthily and listen to them from behind the bar.

Mission #8 – The Grand Palace:
Near the start of the mission, in a back alley where you encounter the first enemies (before going through wall of light head through the buildings on the right).

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Listen to a full song. When you see them they will already be playing a song. Let them finish that one and then listen to another song from start to finish until they stop playing. This will take around 10 minutes. On my first playthrough the trophy didn’t unlock, probably because I didn’t listen to them for long enough.
  • When you start a fight near them they will run away and stop playing music. You must stay stealthy when visiting the singers.
  • If you robbed too many black market shops you cannot get the last musical duo in mission 8. It’s best if you don’t rob any of them.
  • At the third duo the trophy might not pop instantly. Just talk to them a few times after their song or run around the map for a while and then return. I was listening for 10 minutes and when I ran away it unlocked.
  • You will miss this trophy if: you scare away the singers, you don’t listen long enough, you miss them entirely (no mission select available), robbed too many black markets.
Sliding Marksman
Score a headshot while sliding

You will find your first firearm in the safe room at the start of the game (where you have to use the Imperial Signet Ring).
The first opportunity for this is on the streets of Dunwall in Mission 1. I recommend you turn off auto aim in the game options for this. Equip a pistol and slide towards an enemy. While sliding you must kill the enemy with a headshot. The pistol has a very wide spread (similar to a shotgun) so this isn’t too difficult.

Can be done with Emily and Corvo. The skill “Focused Slide” makes this easier by slowing down time when sliding, but it’s optional and not required for this (both characters can unlock this skill).

Royal Spymaster
Peruse all journals and audiographs by Meagan Foster and Anton Sokolov aboard the Dreadful Wale

Royal Spymaster requires you to find all text journals and audiographs from Meagan Foster (your female comrade) and Anton Sokolov (the eldery man) aboard the Dreadful Wale.
The Dreadful Wale is the ship you visit between missions. It’s basically the hub area. Only journals & audiographs located on the ship count for this! You do not have to find any during missions! Collecting them will be super quick as they are all sitting right next to each other.

You visit the Dreadful Wale a total of 6 times during the story. At the start of Missions: 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9.
Use the timeline below to jump to the mission you need.

The trophy is highly missable! If you miss a relevant item and move on to the next mission you cannot go back anymore (no mission select). I recommend you create a manual save every time you are on the ship.
It doesn’t matter if you play as Corvo or Emily for this. Nor does it matter if you do high chaos or low chaos. Furthermore, your story decisions have no impact on this. For example if you rescue Dr. Hypatia in mission 3 she will join the ship and leave behind some notes and audiographs of her own. These don’t matter because you only need the ones from Sokolov and Meagan. So kill her or save her, it doesn’t matter.
The contents of some letters can change depending on what character you choose and what story decisions you make. But this doesn’t affect the trophy. The letters will only have different text but spawn in the same location. I never interacted with the blackboard or the journal in my character’s room.

There is no way to keep track of what you have found. So you must be very careful to not forget anything. I included all the text notes that I picked up on the ship. Some of them are letters from other people and they might not be absolutely necessary. Since there are also letters from Sokolov and Meagan in there it’s hard to tell what counts and what doesn’t. Better safe than sorry.

TIMELINE:

#1 – Mission 2 – 0:05
#2 – Mission 4 – 3:07
#3 – Mission 5 – 4:38
#4 – Mission 6 – 6:05
#5 – Mission 8 – 7:11
#6 – Mission 9 – 8:16

Clean Hands
Complete the game without killing anyone
You must complete an entire playthrough from start to finish without anyone dying. You can check your kills anytime in the game stats. At the end of each mission you are always shown an overview of your kills and detections. Kills always have to be at zero. When in doubt check the stats or reload the last save game.

Always make a manual save at the start of every mission and when getting past difficult areas. This way you don’t have to replay the entire game if you mess up. You can choke out all enemies by pressing R1 when sneaking up to them. In combat you can also choke them by pressing R1 after a successful parry (but be careful that the other enemies don’t hit the choking enemy as that would kill him).

You can combine this with your stealh run, or if you want to make things easier just speedrun the game (which takes less than an hour) and run past all enemies. This would be by far the quickest option and get you the trophy for low chaos. Then you can kill enemies on your stealth run to make things somewhat easier.

What counts as a Kill:

  • Killing enemies or NPCs (soldiers, witches, bosses, assassinaton targets, civilians, infected people)
  • Knocking someone off a high place and them dying from falling damage
  • Rewire security system or Clockwork and getting a kill from it
  • You try to choke someone out and an enemy hits you while doing so (thus killing the enemy you are choking)
  • Enemies killing each other (e.g. Elite soldier shooting another soldier who is attacking you).
  • Using abilities to kill enemies or NPCs (summoning rat swarms for example or linking multiple enemies with Domino and having them kill each other)
  • Dropping unconscious bodies from high places and them dying from falling damage or being electrocuted by security devices or other stuff exploding near them or rats eating their unconscious bodies

What doesn’t count as a Kill:

  • Destroying Clockworks doesn’t count as kill
  • Animals don’t count as kills (bloodflies, bloodfly nests, rats, fish, hounds)
  • Body doubles of Deliah in mission 9 boss fight

Mission tips & non-lethal boss takedowns:

Mission 1 = Nothing special. Just sneak to the boat.
Mission 2 = Take the path through the bloodfly infested house. Don’t go to the wall of light because the guards will kill a civilian (which the game counts as a kill in your stats and you don’t want that).
Mission 3 = Cure Dr. Hypatia, see trophy “Counter-serum” for walkthrough.
Mission 4 = After knocking out Jindosh carry him to the electric chair. Use the platforms to power up the generator.
Mission 5 = Read the note at the oracular machine (see trophy “Oracular Echoes” for location). Now get the lenses from upstairs, they get marked as a mission objective upon reading the note by the machine. Put the lenses in the machine and Breanna Ashworth will lose her powers.
Mission 6 = Make a manual save after talking to Meagan Foster (after first group of enemies). Now play the mission normally to get the code to the Jindosh lock (kill whoever you want and feel free to get detected). Write down the code and reload your manual save to reset the kills. Now enter the code in the Jindosh lock. This way you can “skip” the entire mission as far as your manual save is concerned. Kills you do during the mission will reset when loading the manual save. See trophy “Eureka” for a walkthrough of this strategy.
Mission 7 = Nothing special. Just a few normal guards here.
Mission 8 = Talk to Duke’s body double and do not kill him. You’ll know it’s the double when he talks about his wife or complains about his “job”. He smokes a cigar sometimes and the real duke doesn’t smoke. The key he carries is NOT the vault key. After talking to the double you get a side quest to bring the real duke to him which solves the quest in a non-lethal manner.
Mission 9 = Craft the corrupted rune inside dunwall tower (in a backroom on your way to main objective… it’s also marked as a side quest). Use the heart on Delilah (from behind if you don’t want to be seen). Place corrupted rune on her throne before entering the picture frame. Now enter the frame and climb up the rock above where you spawn. Up there you can knock out Delilah (do not go to fake Delilah on throne yet). Carry her back outside the picture frame and put her on the throne that has the corrupted rune.

Again, if ever in doubt check the stats and reload last save. The safest and fastest way is to just speedrun past everyone and not bother with knocking them out.

Hi mate, nice guide in progress.

You note that difficulty affects the trophies.

Is this correct? I didnt think there was any difficulty related trophies?

    Cheers

Hey, difficulty doesn’t actually affect trophies. That was left over from my guide template. Updated it now, thanks for pointing that out.

I’m not completely sure yet. It depends whether or not the required collectibles can be reached without the use of supernatural powers. It would probably be easiest to do a speedrun for just Flesh and Steel. Game only takes 1 hour if you rush through it.

From the trophy description I get the impression that you can use the runes to upgrade the bottom row of the skills since you listed the skills instead of saying ‘must choose NO when offered powers’.

In the first game you couldn’t use any runes if I remember correctly.

Also the list seems to be missing Dark Vision for Emily and Windblast for Corvo.

Any idea what the “Corvo’s Trophy” souvenir is in the Dust District? I keep seeing “inside a dilapidated building”, but that’s not very specific nor does it tell what exactly this souvenir is.

Emily’s Doll found in “Death of the Empress” apparently does not exist either.

Scratch that. While the official guide says inside a bathroom inside the Dunwall Tower, the doll is actually on the rooftop past the throne room and inside the “Safe Room”. I’m still at a loss as to where the “Corvo’s Trophy” is.

Corvo’s Trophy is actually a trophy and is hidden in his childhood home behind a brick wall. His house is next to the Overseer’s Office.

For Paolo, you don’t have to deal with him lethally. I shot a sleep dart at one of his guards after I had linked both of them to him using Domino and was able to “kill” him once. Also, you can also get The Lovers trophy at that same spot by hiding in the corner of the Black Market and linking all of them with Domino. Then as soon as the third guy stops, sneak up behind and start to choke him out. You’ll get spotted and the other guard will shoot the one you’re choking which will kill all three of them. After that happened, I got the trophy.

I linked them to conserve the ammo and used a dart to remain undetected. Maybe I was being too paranoid, but I like to keep out of sight whenever possible.

I was spotted and started a campaign as Emily and got the Shadow trophy without any issue. Though you should keep an eye on the in-game stats page from the pause screen. It tells you how many times you’ve been spotted for both the current mission and your current playthrough.

For the Heart Whispers trophy you can use the heart on the same target multiple times and it will count each time. You don’t have to find 40 unique people to use it on.

For the Songs of Serkonos trophy did anyone else get ambushed by a bunch of gang members outside the Black Market in mission 8? I did and couldn’t listen to the last pair of musicians. Was wondering if anyone had figured out what triggered that ambush. Maybe it was because I robbed too many Black Markets….?

The info for “songs of serkonos” is a bit off. You focus on the fact that you cannot steal from a black market, or they wont show up in mission 8. However i stole from the black markets in a couple chapters and they were still there, also got the trophy to pop not even knowing it was a trophy to look out for until i already had it.
Anyways just thought i would point that out, its still possible after a black market theft.

    While im here
PowerPyx thanks for the guide. Its the only one available right now and i have used your guides in the past, you do great work.

      November 17, 2016 at 8:47 am

Thanks for letting me know. It may possibly be for robbing too many black markets. What I know is that people who robbed black markets didn’t get them to spawn and those who didn’t rob got them without problems. I’ll try to do more testing. It’s all very hard to pin down as it requires a full playthrough to test. Not robbing any markets is the safest option right now.
Do you remember how many black markets you had robbed when they spawned in your game?

About the Eureka / Jindosh lock puzzle.

I did two playthroughs and solved the riddle without clues on both of them and they aren’t that random at all. Game only randomizes some elements of the puzzle.

After solving both and looking at the similarities it seems like:

You have 1 pair that is straight out given.
The Lady that’s wearing “jaunty *COLOR* hat” has the third heirloom in the list.
The “Lady *NAME* that was at the far left,…” has the last heirloom in the list.

That leaves you with two random pairs but since the total possibilities for that is also 2 it’s easy.

I’ll update when I reach the door on my third playthrough. Maybe there are different sets of the riddle and by luck (or not) I just saw the randomized version of one.

      Yeah,

I forgot to reply here but on my third playthrough it matched as well.

Might be useful for someone who is doing a rushed playthrough for some reason. Can skip entire level.

Hey powerpyx I have a question. So I’m only missing 2 trophies in the game and they are Well Funded and Art Collector. I want to try and get all runes and paintings as well as some loot here and there on a no powers run so every rune I collect is 200 coins each. Is it possible to reach every rune and painting without supernatural powers?

    • PowerPyx says

Some of the paintings require powers. Either do both trophies in a run with powers or do two separate speedruns. You can reach 18,000 without the runes but you have to search very carefully, open all safes, go into buildings etc.

Hi, for Oracular Echoes, does it matter if Breanna Ashworth is already dead? It looks from your video that everyone in the Conservatory was already dead – however after I’d wiped everyone, I installed the lenses in the machine and pulled the lever and got no whispers, just noise out of it. Emily also made the comment that “with Breanna dead this thing is useless”. Just wondering what I did wrong.
