Empty Abode is the third subquest in Prologue: Act 3, Song of the Dragon and Freedom, an Archon Quest in Genshin Impact. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Empty Abode Archon Subquest.
Empty Abode is unlocked automatically when you finish the subquest Hurdle.

Mission Description: Make your way to the top of Stormterror’s Lair
Objectives:
- Go toward Stormterror’s lair
- Find a way through the wind barrier
- Go to the upcurrent
- Find a way to the top of the tower
- Enter the tower
- Go towards the top of the tower
Starting Location: Stormterror’s Lair
This quest begins automatically after completing Hurdle.
Go towards Stormterror’s Lair
From the end of Hurdle, continue through the mountain pass. Follow the left wall to reach a new Teleport Waypoint and a chest just to the right of the Teleport Waypoint.
A long bridge jets out from the Teleport Waypoint. Cross the bridge until you reach the Gate of Stormterror’s Lair.
Venti and Paimon talk about the gate being blocked and come up with an alternative way to ascend the lair.
From the gate, head right up a set of stairs and follow the barrier on your left.
Immediately after you find a pair of Hilichurls, look for a bush behind a broken pillar. Behind that bush is a chest wrapped in vines. Burn the vines and open the chest.
Continue along the barrier and up a set of stairs to pass through a gate. On the right by a broken wall is another chest.
Find a way through the wind barrier
Follow the bridge curving to the left. Avoid or burn the vines along the way.
Go through another gateway and up a flight of stairs. Before going up the second set of stairs, grab the chest to the right of the stairs.
Go to the upcurrent
Turn left at the top of the stairs and cross a short bridge. Then turn right, jump to the lower level, and climb up the broken section of wall in front of you.
Look for a way to the top of the tower
Be sure to activate the Statue of the Seven before proceeding further.
From the Statue of the Seven, walk toward the tower and glide up the wind gust.
At the top of your ascent, glide down toward a locked chest. The chest automatically unlocks when you reach it.
On that circle platform, go to the other side of said platform and approach a broken section of wall.
Enter the tower
Climb the makeshift ramp up to find a “Weird Statue” sitting in front of you. It does nothing right now.
Continue around the circle platform and glide up the next wind gust.
Go towards the top of the tower
At the top of your ascent, glide down into the broken roof.
Once you land, Diluc talks about the Light Actuator they find at the top of the tower.
Right behind you to the right is a chest semi-hidden by a chunk of fallen wall.
Be sure to unlock the Teleport Waypoint right behind Diluc, Venti, and Jean.
The Empty Abode subquest completes at the end of the conversation.
