Takezo the Unrivalled is a mythic tale in Ghost of Yotei. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Takezo the Unrivalled mythic side quest.

• Quest Info: The Disciples of Takezo wait beneath Dueling Trees across central Ezo, waiting to challenge any who cross their path. They think this will draw out their master. They’ll find me instead.

Starting Location: Takezo the Unrivalled

This mythic tale starts automatically after you finish any Dueling Tree in any region. They are all listed below.

Dueling Tree 1 of 5

This tree is just south of Shikotsu River in Yotei Grasslands. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.

Dueling Tree 2 of 5

This tree is north-west of Yotei River in Yotei Grasslands. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.

Dueling Tree 3 of 5

This tree is right in the north-west of Tokachi Range. You need to squeeze through a small gap in the cliffside to find this. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.

Dueling Tree 4 of 5

This tree is just south of Tomamu Marshlands in Tokachi Range. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.

Dueling Tree 5 of 5

This tree is at Niikappu Falls in north-east Tokachi Range. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.

Travel to the Coastal Dueling Tree

After clearing all 5 Dueling Trees, this objective will be marked in the south of Yotei Grasslands. Track it from the map to have the wind guide you there. It’s on top of the cliffs and is a named map area. Interact with the tree stump by the campfire to “wait for Takezo”.

Follow Takezo

Follow him down the cliff.

Duel Takezo

Duel Takezo. When he reaches around a third of his health, a cutscene will play and you’ll duel for a second time. Eventually, you’ll get a prompt to use a new skill for the dual katana with + and the battle will end.

This finishes Takezo the Unrivalled in Ghost of Yotei.
