Ghost of Yotei contains 31 Bounty locations. Completing all Bounties unlocks the Master Bounty Hunter trophy. None of them are missable, everything can still be done after the story in free-roam.
Bounties are short quests where you must find and kill a specific enemy. All Bounties are started from the bounty boards at the inns of each region or by talking to Kojiro the Bounty Broker. On the bounty board you can grab a bounty poster. Then you can track it on the map. It will point you to the area where the bounty is found, but doesn’t mark the exact location. Each region has different bounty posters on the board. After doing a few bounties, new ones will become available, and Bounty Broker Kojiro will also give you some special bounties.
After defeating a bounty target you must return to Bounty Broker Kojiro to get a reward, only then it will count the bounty as “complete”. Kojiro sits next to the bounty boards.
Most bounty posters can also be found in other locations in the open world. Even if you haven’t picked up the bounty poster, you can find most of the bounty enemies directly in the open world. So in most cases, grabbing the posters isn’t strictly necessary.
Some posters from the bounty board only lead to mythical/sensei tales and aren’t enemies you kill. These will be pointed out here below each region.
There’s no in-game tracker that shows which bounties you’ve done. Because of this it can be beneficial to keep track yourself. This lets you quickly narrow down which ones you have left to do. If you end up missing a bounty, recheck all bounty boards, try talking to Bounty Broker Kojiro, and check on the map that no bounty quests are pending. Your own bounty (“Ghost of Yotei”) never goes away and can’t be completed.
You can keep track of total progress by checking the trophy on the PS5 trophy for “Master Bounty Hunter”. If you end up with a few bounties missing, the most likely ones you are missing would be Iron Chuta because he requires doing a side tale first, or Wayward Oni Raiders because it doesn’t count as complete until you finish Shiro’s follow-up quest The New Lord. Also recheck all bounty boards and talk to Kojiro at every inn.
