Introduction

Welcome to the Ghost of Yotei Legends DLC Trophy Guide! Yotei Legends is a Co-Op Online DLC to Ghost of Yotei. It’s very similar to Ghost of Tsushima’s Legends Mode, so if you’ve played that, you’ll know what to expect. Legends is based on the main game’s combat system but with 4 playable classes and allowing for cooperative online gameplay with other players. You must finish the campaign, survival on gold difficulty, raids, and reach rank 25 with all 4 classes.

Step 1: Complete all Story Missions

From the hub, interact with the Torii gate stele and select Campaign. For this trophy, you have to complete all 4 missions for each of the Yotei Six banner. The first three missions are chapters that you can play either solo or with a friend. The fourth and final mission is an Incursion where you’re teamed up with up to three players to take down a demonic form of the Yotei Six you’ve selected.

Step 2: Survival Missions

For trophy Ghosts Unyielding you must complete any Survival mission on Gold difficulty or higher. To unlock Gold, you must first successfully complete Survival mode in the Bronze and Silver difficulty. Each tier consists of surviving a total of 12 waves of enemies.

Step 3: Raid & Rank 25 with all Classes

For trophy Kaibyaku, you must finish the two Raid Missions. You must also reach Rank 25 with all four classes: Samurai, Hunter, Mercenary, Shinobi, but this will come naturally through gameplay.

Ghost of Yotei Legends DLC Trophy Guide

Main Game Guide:
Ghost of Yotei (Main Game) Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Tale of Revenge
Complete all Story missions.
Bronze
Ghost of Yotei: Legends features a Story mode, named Campaign in-game. You don’t have to complete the Bounties optional objectives.

Each story features a specific mechanic, blessing or curse that you’ll find again in their respective Survival missions:

  1. The Spider (Jubokko trees): trees that, unless slain, will unleash harmful vines honing in on you. However, these can also be used to your advantage as they also release fruit bombs that can be cast at enemies.
  2. The Oni (Teru Teru Bozu totems): these can be removed after throwing the Raijin’s Kami Blessing gift at the feet of the Teru Teru Bozu totems.
  3. The Oni (Onibi): these will-o’-the-wisps can be vacuumed with the Fujin’s Wind Kami blessing and blown away into protective barriers to release a spirit.
  4. The Kitusne (Torches): the torches can be thrown at shrines to burn them down or thrown at the enemies.
  5. The Kitsune (Teleportation): this Kami blessing allows for quick traversal across a map. It is also very handy to use it to sneak up on an enemy and perform an Air Assassination.
  6. The Snake (Attunements): in this tale, some enemies will glow in a specific color: Blue (Moon), Green (Storm), and Orange (Sun). Always attune your weapon with the respective color to remove the attunement shield from an enemy or it otherwise will take much longer to defeat an enemy.
  7. The Snake (The Eye): later on in this tale you will meet a cart that you need to feed with souls. It can also give you an eye that can be used to remove attunements from enemies where there are no attunement totems in the vicinity.
Student No More
Reach rank 25 with one class.
Bronze
See :silver: No More Lessons.
Vengeance Fulfilled
Complete all four Incursions.
Bronze
Once you have completed the three campaign missions for each Yotei Six available, you’ll unlock an Incursion where you’re teamed up with up to 3 more players to take down a demonic form of the Yotei Six you’ve selected. Simply complete them all to unlock this trophy.
Ghosts Unyielding
Complete a Survival mission on Gold difficulty or higher.
Silver
Ghost of Yotei: Legends features a Survival mode. For this trophy, you must complete any Survival mission on Gold difficulty or higher. To unlock Gold, you must first successfully complete Survival mode in the Bronze and Silver difficulty. Each tier consists of surviving a total of 12 waves of enemies.

The easiest option is the first map: Survival – The Spider – River Village.

No More Lessons
Reach rank 25 with all classes.
Silver
The Legends DLC features 4 different classes: Samurai, Hunter, Mercenary, Shinobi. For this trophy, you must reach Rank 25 with each class. This will come naturally through gameplay. After reaching rank 25 with one class, the other classes will go a bit faster as you can use most of the already unlocked gear.
Kaibyaku
Complete the Raid missions.
Gold
Ghost of Yotei: Legends features a Raid mode. To access the Raids, you must interact with the central Torii stele in the Haven of the Ghosts and choose Raids.

There are two Raids, the Dragon and Lord Saito. Completing the Dragon is a necessary requirement to access Lord Saito. Because matchmaking is unavailable at the time of the Raid’s release, you must find three other players to team up with. Communication and coordination are essential for the Raids. Without good communication and coordination, you won’t get far. Additionally, because of how challenging the Raids’ bosses are, you won’t stand a chance if you have a build that is lower than A tier on all gear properties. For example, the damage increase you get from even B- to A+ will make a difference here. As for what you need to do during the Raids themselves, getting through the puzzle areas isn’t a problem, the real challenge is the bosses. Here are some suggested strategies:

The Dragon: he has three main attacks.

  1. When he drops bombs around the area, just run around until the AoE attack is over.
  2. He can drop four massive explosive arrows. You can attack them, but only if it’s all four of you attacking one single arrow to create a safe area. Their health pool is just too big for one single player to attack one single arrow and make it in time to create a safe zone. The safest option is to just pull back to the entrance of the arena where the arrows can’t get you.
  3. A third attack to pay attention to is when he targets one of the players. When he does, the targeted player will have a red skull above him to indicate that he’s being chased by the explosive bombs. When that happens, the targeted player must run around until the targeting is off.

Don’t ignore the elite enemies he spawns, mainly Bo-Hiyas and Lords. You want to try and get rid of them because they can otherwise be a nuisance while taking care of everything else.

Lord Saito

Lord Saito basically combines all of the Yotei Six and their trademark moves and mechanics, but much more powerful. During the fight, he spawns Elite enemies (Bo-Hiyas, Lords, Berserkers, Summoners, Yuki-Onnas) as well as massive Jubokko Tree root areas. While facing the attacks he does, you must do your best to clear out the area of some of the Elite enemies. If you go all in on the boss, you’ll die quickly. One more thing to keep in mind is that over time he will fill his Spirit gauge (below his health bar). When the Spirit gauge is full, he will cast one of the following attacks, usually in this order and a couple of seconds after his Spirit gauge is full:

  1. He will spawn four different shadow ronin, each targeting the players. These spawn and attack you at lightning speed and you must be ready to parry their attacks and try to survive through them. If you manage to land a perfect parry, they will vanish instantly.
  2. He will summon two shadow Kitsune at the center of the arena, who, in turn, will cast ice orbs around the area. During this spawn, just try to stay alive as your health goes down because of the frost.
  3. He will summon the Snake and Dragon, who in turn will surround the area of purple corruption and drop bombs around the area. Your job is to either run around the edge of the arena to avoid the bomb drops or run around in the middle. Don’t bother with the enemies as they won’t attack you during this phase. If you come across one of your teammates and you run into each other’s bomb AoE areas, move to the middle through the corruption areas or you’ll die. This attack will last a good 20-30 seconds and there’s nothing you can do but run.
  4. He will cast his massive Odachi into the ground and spawn a huge yellow glint area followed by a red wave. You have two options here, either of which requires a large pool of health before the attack even starts. When the red wave is about to hit, you can dash through it, but the problem is that the timing is very tight. Or you can just tank through it provided you have enough Spirit to get some health back. Depending on how much health you have by the time this attack starts, you might have to use more than Spirit. He won’t deal as much damage, so if you start at full health you can probably tank through it without too much damage. After running through the wave, get close to the boss and start unleashing attacks because that’s when he’s at his most vulnerable.
  5. He will summon a shadow Oni and a shadow Kitsune and these will be chasing you at all times until they despawn.
  6. He will summon two Oni who, in turn, will surround the arena with Onibi.

For the rest of the fight, he will continuously go through these same attacks. He will summon the shadow ronin at least one more time and also cast his yellow glint attack on the ground. When he does the latter again, he will cast a second red wave to tank through. If the fight lasts too long, he can cast this attack again and spawn three consecutive red waves, each of which deals increasingly more damage. Last, but most definitely not least, if the boss takes too long to go down he will plunge his Odachi on the ground and cast infinite red wave attacks. When that happens you can only move towards him and attack him until he’s dead and hope to survive.

Lord Saito is also extremely vulnerable to Stagger Damage, something that a class like the Samurai is really good at, especially because of his techniques and passive abilities. An S-tier build with all gears featuring Enemy Stagger Damage properties with the use of the Blade of Mountains Odachi which restores health when dealing a Spirit attack is highly recommended.

Both the Dragon and Lord Saito are extremely tough battles, sometimes bordering on the unfair, but it’s just a matter of learning the mechanics and exploiting their vulnerabilities. Having a fine-tuned build is key to surviving.

Thanks for the guide! How come on PlayStation, it says the raid trophy is 0.1% achieved. I thought it will be released in April or could this be the devs ?

Hi, I have a question about the trophy Kaibyaku.

What tips do you have for getting it if you don’t have a lobby to play in? It requires four people. Is there a trick to getting it solo?

    Kind regards

Just a tip if you want to level up fast there is also a pretty game breaking exploit to level up / Farm gear. If you google for it you will find videos etc. Maybe it can also get included into the Guide. With this Method it should be possible to get all charakters to level 20 in about 2 hours…

What I don´t understand I´ve beat the story once and after the credits it put me right back, before I defeated Saito, but when I go to Legends Mode I can´t play the Story cause for some reason it´s locked for me, same with Incursion so what exactly do I have to do so that I can play both mode?

Matchmaking for raids is now available with new only boss modes (lets you skil raid right before the boss).
Question: anyone tried whether the raid trophy can be awarded for just killing boss in this mode?

Update: I can confirm that killing Lord Saito outside of raid (in Saito Battle) was enough to obtain Kaibyaku trophy. (Dragon raid I completed whole, but if you can open Saito in Dragon Battle, i think raid is not neccessary).
