The Ainu Kotan is a side tale in Ghost of Yotei. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the The Ainu Kotan side quest.
- Chapter: 1 – The Lone Wolf
- Region: Any region, by talking to a woman selling horse saddles, she can randomly spawn at many small campsites throughout the game. Commonly found in Tokachi Range north from Mysterious Gate.
- Quest Giver: Konupas (Ainu woman that sells saddles)
- Requirement: Talk to Konupas at any of her random campsites
- Reward: None
- Quest Info: There is an Ainu kotan open to trade past the lake up in the Nayoro Wilds
Objectives:
- Find the Ainu Kotan
Starting Location: The Ainu Kotan
Ride around and look for randomly spawning campsites until you find one with a woman and a horse. Approach them and interact to calm the horse, then the woman opens up her inventory and lets you purchase saddles. Close her inventory and she will talk to you again to give this quest.
She can spawn in many places randomly throughout different regions. However, a guaranteed spot is in the south of Tokachi Range region. Fast travel to the Mysterious Gate location and ride north, she will have camps throughout the meadows there. The exact placement of her camp can differ slightly, but she’s typically found there. If not, fast travel away and come back, or rest at camp to advance time.
If you have already talked to her before you will already have this quest, and if you already visited Nayoro Wilds region you would have autocompleted it already. In this case the woman will not spawn anymore and she moves to the Husko Kotan village in Nayoro Wilds after talking to her for the first time at any camp.
Find the Ainu Kotan
The quest has a single objective: to reach Nayoro Wilds region and enter the Husko Kotan village. If you’ve already been to Nayoro Wilds, simply fast travel to Husko Kotan village to instantly complete the quest.
If you haven’t been there, go to the very north of Tokachi Range to the “Central Ferry” location, on the southern edge of the “Great Lake”. Talk to the woman there and tell her you’re ready to take the ferry. Then the ferry takes you to Nayoro Wilds.
After you leave the ferry just head slightly north to enter Husko Kotan village. The quest instantly completes when going there, you don’t get a popup or reward or anything. It’s literally just to tell you that this village exists. The saddler trader woman can also be found here, near the center of the village, can buy saddle design from her there.
This finishes The Ainu Kotan in Ghost of Yotei.
