The Yotei Six is the 5th main tale in Ghost of Yotei. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Yotei Six main quest.

Starting Location: The Yotei Six
The quest starts automatically when completing Main Tale 4: Saito.
The Yotei Six is a game-spanning main tale that will appear between the 3 main tales “The Oni“, “The Kinsune“, and “The Saito Brothers“. You have to ride around the Yotei Grasslands and kill enemies until you find ones who have info on the Yotei Six, then you can pick what main tale you want to start first. These can be any random enemy encounters: bounty hunters, enemies riding on horses, or any other groups of enemies. These are frequently found in the meadows south of The Old Inn, and found along the big rivers. The easiest strategy is to ride along the meadows south of The Old Inn, if you don’t find any enemies ride along the rivers. Defeat any enemy group you see, then you will automatically interrogate the last man standing. You must do this between each main tale to trigger the next one.
Find information about the Yotei Six
There won’t be an objective marker on the map for this quest. This can be confusing. What you have to do is kill enemies across Yotei Grasslands (starting region) until one gives you info on the Yotei Six.
Simply ride along the big river going through this region and you’ll get ambushed by bounty hunters. Below are some possible spawns that work quite reliably, but should these not spawn just ride along the river and kill any other enemies you see.
Informant #1:
Head to the river crossing slightly south-west of The Old Inn (west of your home where you start). When you arrive in the area, a cutscene will automatically trigger. A wandering ronin will attack you, defeat him.
If he doesn’t spawn, defeat any random enemies on horses:
After defeating the wandering ronin, you can choose which of 3 main tales you’d like to do first. Each unlocks a different weapon type and region, so pick what you prefer to start with. You’ll have to complete all 3 to advance the story, but the order is up to you.
Proceed with the main tale you picked:
Someone must have a lead on the rest of my family’s killers
After completing the first and second main tale, you again don’t have a map marker. Same as before you must kill random groups of enemies until one gives a clue. They will spawn very frequently across Yotei Grasslands, you should find a group every 1-2 minutes while riding around.
Informant #2:
- Ride between your Home and The Old Inn/Yotei’s Shadow Inn, check for any enemies on horses or any groups of bounty hunters who interrogate civilians. These frequently spawn around Yotei Grasslands. Kill any such group and the last enemy will give you the info.
- Ride along the river, sometimes groups of samurai/bounty hunters ambush you randomly. If nobody spawns you can fast travel away and come back to check again. Below is one example, sometimes they string a rope along the river and if you ride into it, they ambush you.
Pick between your two remaining quests:
After completing your second tale, repeat this again to find someone with info for the third tale. You can also run into the same trap in the river again as shown above, the ambush respawns there repeatedly (but won’t be there on every attempt). The group of ambushers very frequently have the quest info.
