The Flight of Fafnir is one of the 3 Dragon Favours (Side Quest) in God of War 2018. This walkthrough will guide you to all dragon shrines to free the dragon Fafnir.
- Quest Giver: Quest triggers when stepping into the Dragon’s lair.
- Requirement: Earliest you can accept this quest is after completing the story missions “A New Destination”.
- Reward: Rare Enchantment, Dragon Tear and 615 XP
Starting Location: Beach just outside of Alfheim
Head to the beach just North of the Alfheim Tower Boat Dock, this is the location on the map:
Once you reach the beach there will be electric crystal blocking your path. Shoot the crystals with your Lightning Arrows to clear the way. Climb up and then head up the ledge straight ahead of you. Follow this path and you will come across a door. Entering inside will trigger this quest. As soon as you enter make sure to go into the Goals tab of your start menu and track this favour.
Destroy shrines binding Fafnir
Dragon Shrine Location #1
Head to the left into the little arena in front of Fafnir but be careful, there are enemies down there and Fafnir will shoot fire and electricity. Take out the enemies down below and head to the corner of the area towards Fafnir’s right front claw and destroy the blue shrine by repeatedly attacking it. Here is the shrine:
Dragon Shrine Location #2
Once the shrine is destroyed head back to the backside of the room and there will be a spot you can jump across to a ledge over a little river. This is what it looks like:
Jump across and climb up and there will be a Traveller with smaller mobs. Take them out so you can destroy the shrine in that small room, that looks like this:
Dragon Shrine Location #3
Once destroyed head back into the room you started in through the gate behind you. Head back down into the arena down below and this time hug the left wall into a small clearing with just one enemy in it. Defeat it and take out the final shrine which looks like this:
Return to the anchor
Once all three shrines have been destroyed head back into the arena where you will be greeted by a Poison Revenant and two Viken. Once the enemies have been defeated head to the stone where the dragon is leashed to and have Atreus destroy the anchor, this will set Fafnir free and complete the Flight of Fafnir favour.
