Gift for the Little Book Lover / Books Are Like Old Friends is a side mission in NTE (Neverness to Everness). The quest is initially called “Gift for the Little Book Lover” on the map, but once started the name changes to “Books Are Like Old Friends” in the quest log.

Starting Location: Gift for the Little Book Lover / Books Are Like Old Friends

The unlock requirements for this quest are a little unclear, having finished Prologue 2 is required but it also seems to require doing other side quests. If you don’t see the quest icon on the map, don’t worry and finish other side quests until it shows up.

 

Find Miles north of the corner of Ironheart 9th Avenue and McQueen Phantom Avenue.

Miles stands at a newsstand just west of the Caltrop Lake Station.

Fill out the order form (Gift for the Little Book Lover)

Interact with the left side of the newsstand counter.

Inform Miles of the situation (Anomalous Presence)

Interact with Miles to progress.

Wait until the next day (10:00 AM – 06:00 PM) (Wait for delivery)

Interact with the magazine on the other end of the counter.

Interact with Miles, who stands to your right.

Follow Miles who suddenly left (Where Did Grandpa Go)

Head west to the southwest corner of Caltrop Lake.

Find Miles just to the west of the nearby 2-Four Mart. Interact with him.

Return to The Midnight Newsstand (Safety First)

Make your way back to the newsstand.

Talk to the Gift Shop Staff (Another Customer?)

Interact with the girl standing in front of the newsstand.

Analyze the situation with Miles (Source of Abnormalities)

Interact with Miles behind you.

You receive the first round of rewards at this point in the quest.

Head southwest to the corner of Saint Torres Avenue and Nutcracker Road.

Find him at Terrax.

Discuss the situation with Aria (Talking to Himself)

Approach the suited man on the corner.

Help Miles out of trouble (Boy)

Interact with Miles to your right.

Go to the bubble tea shop (Second Stop of Memories)

Find Miles at the Crazy Cat bubble tea shop.

Help Miles out of trouble (The Art of Communication)

Approach Miles at the counter.

Go to the cafe (Third Stop of Memories)

Approach the cafe across the river to the east.

Find a seat (Brief Rest)

Approach the empty table to progress.

Accompany Aria and talk to Miles (Ultimate Backup Plan)

Approach Miles in the nearby chair.

Go to the station (Memories’ End)

Make your way to the northwest corner of Caltrop Lake. If you have the phone booth there unlocked, use that to save some time.

Head up the stairs.

Talk to Aria (Goodbye, Goodbye)

Finish climbing the stairs to the station.

Help the fallen Miles (The Past is the Past)

Approach Miles.

 

Patiently wait for the next day between 10 am and to 60 pm (Coming to an End)
