NTE Return (We! Are! One!) Walkthrough

Return / We! Are! One! is a side mission in NTE (Neverness to Everness). The quest is initially called “Return” on the map, but once started the name changes to “We! Are! One!” in the quest log.

Starting Location: Unheard Shores
Requirement: Complete “Prologue 2: Good Business, Better Treasure“
Reward: Hunter Level EXP x250, Annulith x20, Fons x5000, Senior Hunter Guide x6, Colorless Dye x6, Beetle Coin x10k
Quest Description: Follow Ruddy’s guidance to track Danzaburou.

Starting Location: Return / We! Are! One!

Talk to the little dog at the quest start.

Take a photo of Ruddy / Show the photo to Ruddy

At the quest start, after talking to the little dog, stand in the blue objective marker and press to enter photo mode. Take a photo of the 3 dogs. Then talk to the dogs to show the photo.

Go to the ad shoot location / Enter Jingle Wrangle / Talk to Nydia

This objective can only be completed between 15:00 to 18:00. You can skip time from the radial menu (hold and click on “Time System”). Then enter the “Jingle Wrangle” pet shop and talk to the store clerk.

Catch up with the dejected Ruddy / Encourage Ruddy to cheer up

This objective comes with a little search area on the map. You must go to the alley behind the tall apartment building to find Ruddy there. Talk to him.

Visit Ruddy’s Home / Talk with Ruddy

Go to the marked apartment building up the street. On the rooftop talk to Ruddy. You can simply climb up the side of the wall.

Browse the first photo / Browse the second photo / Browse the third photo

Interact with the 3 objects on the rooftop that have the blue objective marker.

Appraise the traces (x3) / Exchange clues with Ruddy

Ruddy will wait in front of a box on the corner of the roof. Click the “Check” prompt 3 times in a row on the highlighted box. If it shows the “Ruddy” dialogue prompt press to select “Check”.

Track Danzaburou (Lost and Found)

Head to the lighthouse in Unheard Shores.

Discuss with Ruddy (Trail Interrupted)

Approach the little dog to progress.

Talk to the Quarreling Couple (Search for Danzaburou)

Go west a little bit and approach the couple on the sidewalk.

Talk to the Staff (Search for Danzaburou)

Head a little more west at the edge of the parking lot and speak with the man by the power box.

Talk to the Enthusiastic Citizen (Search for Danzaburou)

Head north into the parking lot and approach the man standing alone.

Find the Dangerous Dog chasing Danzaburou (Continue Tracking)

Continue north and go up the stairs.

Talk to Auddy (Dangerous Dog)

At the top of the stairs, approach the little dog just to your right.

Investigate the Trash Can Ahead (Further Investigation)

Interact with the trash can right next to Auddy.

Investigate the Nearby Trash Can (Further Investigation)

Follow Auddy to the next trash can, butted up against the foundation of the lighthouse just east of you. Interact with it.

Investigate the Distant Trash Can (Further Investigation)

Go around the base of the lighthouse to the southeast. Interact with that trash can as well.

Follow Auddy (Trace The Tracks)

Auddy runs down the stairs to your left.

Continue to follow Auddy (Trace The Tracks)

After a short distance, the objective updates to this. Keep following Auddy around the path and eventually up a set of stairs.

Persist in following Auddy (Trace The Tracks)

Auddy heads south down some stairs and a bit further before you progress.

Talk to Auddy (Target Arrival)

Go around the fence to the right and jump down to the cave entrance.

Interact with Auddy to progress.

Move Danzaburou’s food reserve (4) (Lure It Out)

Stand next to the stack of boxes to your right. One at a time, select “Move” and then wait for the prompt to appear again. This happens four times before the quest progresses.

Defeat the transformed Danzaburou (Defeat Danzaburou)

You now basically face a level 28 Oddity. Take it out.

Talk to the JTF Member (Hand Over the Suspect)

Approach Ella, who stands to your immediate left.

Talk to Auddy (Bring Up the Past)

Interact with Auddy.

Find Ruddy (Temporary Courier)

Head back up to the lighthouse parking lot to the north. Find Ruddy where you found him at the beginning of the quest.

Return the photo to Ruddy (Return to Owner)

Approach Ruddy to progress.

Talk to the Hot Dog Stand Owner (Go to the Hot Dog Stand)

Turn around and approach the food stand to the right.

Sit with Ruddy (Nice Place)

From the hot dog stand, head north up the stairs.

Taste the hot dog (Food Time)

You get three options. Choose whichever one you like better. Note that choosing to speak to Auddy here does not progress the quest.

Chat with Ruddy (Nostalgic Taste)

Interact with Ruddy.

Find Buddy (Last Ticket)

Look easterly over the edge.

Jump off and press R1 to loft your way down to the tree.

Approach Buddy by the tree to progress.

Give the movie ticket to Buddy (Dogboss)

Approach Buddy to progress.

There are dialogue options, but the outcome remains the same no matter which options you choose.

Wait for the movie to start (Next day, 14:00 – 22:00) (Patiently Waiting)

While tracking the quest, press L3 to adjust the time.
