Resident Evil 3 Remake How to Unlock Infinite Ammo

April 2, 2020 by PowerPyx 38 Comments

In Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020) on PS4, Xbox One and PC you can unlock Infinite Ammo. It’s an in-game reward you can buy in the shop after beating the story, not a cheat.

After beating the game for the first time on any difficulty, you can find the Cheat Shop under Title Screen, Bonuses, Shop. The way it works is that you gain points for completing the in-game Records (such as certain number of kills with each weapon). These points can be traded in the shop for infinite ammo. Only certain weapons are available with infinite ammo. Once you bought them they can be found in the item box.

Weapons with Infinite Ammo:

  • Infinite MUP Handgun – 8,000P
  • Infinite CQBR Assault Rifle – 28,400P
  • Infinite Rocket Launcher – 62,400P

The best weapon to do Speedruns and get S-Ranks is the Infinite Rocket Launcher. It kills everything in a single hit, except Nemesis. Using infinite ammo weapons does not void S Ranks or trophies / achievements. So feel free to make use of them.

The best way to get points is by farming weapon kills. There’s a record for each weapon and also some for your total number of kills with any weapon (Pause Menu > Records to view your total kill numbers). During the story make a manual save at Hospital (Makeshift Sickroom), NEST 2 (Storage). Then after the story reload those saves to farm kills. Because kills are stored on your profile save you can jump to old save games without losing any progress.

Recommended Records & Locations to farm points:

  • 100 Shotgun Kills = 3,200P – NEST 2 / Storage (farm against room full of enemies after using red flash drive)
  • 130 Shotgun Kills = 6,200P – NEST 2 / Storage (farm against room full of enemies after using red flash drive)
  • 20 MAG Kills = 6,600P – NEST 2 / Storage (farm against room full of enemies after using red flash drive)
  • 80 MAG Kills = 10,400P – NEST 2 / Storage (farm against room full of enemies after using red flash drive)
  • 80 Grenade Launcher Kills – 6,200P – NEST 2 / Storage (farm against room full of enemies after using red flash drive)
  • 120 Grenade Launcher Kills – 10,400P – NEST 2 / Storage (farm against room full of enemies after using red flash drive)
  • 200 Handgun Kills = 5,200P – Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom (defending hospital lobby as Carlos)
  • 200 Assault Rifle Kills = 3,400P – Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom (defending hospital lobby as Carlos)
  • 400 Assault Rifle Kills = 8,400P – Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom (defending hospital lobby as Carlos)
  • 400 Kills (Any) = 5,200P – Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom (defending hospital lobby as Carlos)
  • 800 Kills (Any) = 8,200P – Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom (defending hospital lobby as Carlos)
  • 1100 Kills (Any) = 10,400P – Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom (defending hospital lobby as Carlos)
  • 1400 Kills (Any) = 10,600P – Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom (defending hospital lobby as Carlos)
  • 2000 Kills (Any) = 11,000P – Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom (defending hospital lobby as Carlos)

After reaching a kill milestone it keeps counting the kills and doesn’t reset them. So from 100 shotgun kills to 130 you only need to do 30 additional kills (not 130 again). You also get the full amount of points for each milestone (100 shotgun kills gives you 3,200 and doing another 30 for 130 total gives you another 6,200. 3200 + 6200 = 9400 points for 130 kills, same principle for all other kill milestones). Remember; to get your infinite weapon you must pick it up from the item box.

If you’re unsure where to find any of these weapons, check out the Resident Evil 3 Remake Collectible Guide.

2 Short questions to these already playing / finishing the game:

Are there enough records to unlock all stuff?
Can you farm points by repeating records or certain tasks?

There are enough records to unlock everything (beating Hardcore, Nightmare, Inferno gives lots of points too).
You cannot farm points by repeating the same task. Once it’s complete it cannot give you points again.

Yes there’s cause I have unlocked every single Item but you have to finish all the records except finishing inferno mode with S rank

Does that mean that once you run out of ammo for example in the spider lair for the shotgun you can simply reload that file again where you saved and redo it?

Correct, just reload save and farm more kills.

After beating story mode can I just play the game again instead of farming and keep the same amount of points? Or do the points restart after you beat the game?

You can play the game again for more points. It counts across all playthroughs and all saves, no points are lost or reset. Beating Hardcore / Nightmare / Inferno gives a lot of points too, doing a playthrough without using item box etc.

Does the game show you your stats for kills? Where you can find them?

Yes, in the game records it shows the progress on each weapon kill challenge.
Thanks for asking, I added this to the guide too 🙂

There is no S+ rank in 3make. S is the highest score and is only based on the time it took you to complete it. You can use whatever items you’ve purchased as well. This includes coins and infinite weapons.

I didn’t realise that I wouldn’t have it straight away and that I would need to wait till I got to a storage box. It’s okay. I got there in the end.

Can you farm pistol or Assault Rifle Kills with the infinite ammo versions?

      Yes absolutely
The best part to do this is with Carlos in the hospital pretty much at the end where you have to defend Jill from the zombies coming in from the windows

After unlocking an infinite weapon, is there only one copy of it in the inventory? For example, if I have an infinite assault rifle in Jill’s inventory when it switches over to playing as Carlos, will he also have an infinite assault rifle in his inventory box (meaning I can have both characters with their own infinite weapons)?

Or is it a situation of if I put it in Jill’s inventory, Carlos can’t use it?

    Thanks!

No both Carlos and Jill have access to all purchased items. And both have their own complete set. So don’t worry about boxing any items. Carlos also gets his extra bags inside the RPD (on desk behind Tyrell) and even has access to the “crafting buddy” even though you can’t find any gunpowder while playing as him.

I am not getting points for beating the game. I have been stuck on 58,000 points. I have beaten the game 3 more times and still no change in points.
I got enough points to get unlimited ammo for machine gun but now I am trying to get the rocket launcher. Anybody know why I am not getting more points for completing the game ?

Simply completing it doesn’t give you anything, you must finish Records to get points. When you look at the Records Menu, you must go for Records you haven’t done yet. For example, finishing the game without using the item box is a Record. Or finishing the game on higher difficulties you haven’t done yet gives a record. Replaying the game on the same difficulty you’ve already beaten (without finishing any new records) won’t give points.

Just farm kills as this guide recommends, it’s the fastest method by far 🙂

Yes you can use any and all purchased items on any difficulty. It doesn’t effect your rank either.

Hi. Do you happen to know That getting the infinite rocket launcher in my inventory spoils the trophy for finishing the game without using the supply box? Thx

As soon as you open the supply box, you lose that achievement even if you don’t take anything out or put anything in. I did the supply box, sprinter, no health items and bobble heads on amateur to get a feel for the game etc then move on 🙂

It’s a mod on pc. There’s only the 3 infinite weapons. But using assault coins and/or crafting buddy can allow you to stockpile plenty. Especially if you have any one of or all 3 infinite weapons.
