Shootin’ the Shit is a Main Mission in Saints Row (2022 Reboot). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Shootin’ the Shit story mission.
Quest Giver: Eli
Requirement: Complete Take Me to Church
Reward: $2,500 Cash, 3,000 XP, Eli Friend Weapon Upgrade
Mission Info: Eli needs help developing a new skill.
Objectives:
- Meet up with Eli
- Talk to Eli
- Get in position
- Use the shooting range
- Shoot the shit (x4)
- Defeat Marshall
- Get in Eli’s car
- Escape Marshall notoriety
Meet up with Eli
Eli wants your help with something, head out to the Badlands on the west side of the map to meet up with him.

Talk to Eli
Head up the road to where Eli is waiting for you.
Get in position
Eli has set up a target range and wants to watch you shoot stuff. Go standing by the barriers to get started.
Use the shooting range
Interact with the barrier in front when you’re ready to start.
Shoot the shit (x4)
Once you start the shooting range there will be barrels launched towards you from in front, which you are meant to shoot. You’ll need to do this in 4 different sets. It doesn’t really matter how many barrels you actually hit in each set, so just hit whatever you can.
Defeat Marshall
After the 4th set of barrels, some Marshall vehicles will start appearing from behind the hill, shoot the enemies as they appear.
Get in Eli’s car
After defeating a couple of waves of Marshall enemies (not all of them) you’ll be prompted to get in Eli’s car nearby. You’re driving, he’s shooting so get in the driver’s side.
Escape Marshall notoriety
Start driving away and just follow the roads, waiting for Eli to clear out the Marshall vehicles that are chasing you so that you lose notoriety. If any of the vehicles drive up beside you can sideswipe them to get rid of them faster, but most of the vehicles will hang behind and Eli will clear them out, then the game will eventually decide that you’ve lost notoriety (even if there’s still vehicles chasing you).
This finishes Shootin’ the Shit main quest in Saints Row.
