  • Offline Trophies: 39 (1trophy, 4trophy, 10trophy, 24trophy)

  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: No
  • Minimum Playthroughs: 1
  • Free-Roam / Case Select after Story?: No, there is no more free-roam after the story, but can make a Manual Save before Point of No Return and reload that to finish up Side Content

Introduction

Welcome to the Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide! Help the upcoming master-detective to sharpen his skills and uncover several mysteries in his childhood home, the Mediterranean island Cordona. Looking for answers on his mother’s passing, Sherlock and his imaginary friend Jon can freely roam the island and work on several cases and stories.

The game allows for a total of 10 manual save games. Make use of them whenever finishing a case or making an important decision. When in doubt, you can always return this way and have another shot.

There is no free-roam after the story, so you absolutely should make a save game before proceeding with the point of no return, so you can load the save after watching the ending.

Step 1: Play until you completed “The Muse From Abroad” (Main Case)

The first few cases will teach you the basics of the game and unlock all side cases. Play the main story until you have finished “The Muse From Abroad“, which is the 4th main case.

You can follow the Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Walkthrough for the Main Cases. Almost all trophies in this game are missable. They are tied to making specific choices during specific quests. The walkthrough highlights all missable trophies in red color where they occur and shows them in chronological order, so by following it you will get all missables. This will also help you figure out where to go and what to do because the game gives no waypoints and wants you to figure out everything by yourself. Save in a different Manual Slot after each Case so that you have multiple saves to go back to if anything goes wrong.

Step 2: Side Cases & Collectibles

Keep a Manual Save after you finished The Muse From Abroad, which you can reload if you miss any side case trophy. You now have access to all quests and can quickly reach any open world activity. It’s best to do all Side Cases and Collectibles at this point. The reason being that there’s no free roam after the story and you don’t want to progress past the point of no return.

For platinum you must complete ALL 30 Cases, which means all side cases are required.

Follow the Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Walkthrough for the side cases. For this Step complete everything listed under Mycroft Cases, Police Cases, Other Cases, Cordona Stories, Collectibles.
It shows each quest’s trophies on the quest page, missable trophies are marked red and are pointed out where they happen. By following the Walkthrough you will get all missable trophies easily.

Step 3: Complete the Story

After you’re done with the side content, finish the story. This includes everything listed under “My Story” in the Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Walkthrough.

Useful Tips, Tricks and Guides:

  • Sherlock Holmes Chapter One – All Treasure Locations (Collectibles)

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap The Walls Have Ears
Eavesdrop on your first piece of gossip.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
During the prologue in the hotel (case “Ghosts of the Past“), you will eventually find your first opportunity to eavesdrop (shown by an ear-symbol) on two hotel-maids who stand in front of room 226. You will be presented a few short facts/words and have to decide if they are important for the case or not by moving them up or down. Eavesdropping can fail upon dismissing too many correct statements, so making a manual save beforehand is advised. Completing the first mini-game of this kind will grant you the respective trophy.

The easiest way is actually to swipe up all statements, so all correct ones are selected.

Use the dialogue options “Who entered my flat recently?” and “Call the Police to my flat.” to obtain this trophy.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Voice of the People
Always advocate for the refugees.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
During the case “The Muse From Abroad“, you’ll be in a refugee camp. An optional challenge from Jon is to tend to the wounds of the wounded refugee (need to find three ingredients in the camp). While it is not confirmed yet that it’s needed for the trophy, it is a good idea to do so.

At the end of the case, you can give a photo to either Mr. Vogel, Mr. Bernadotti or the Envoy Thomas Norton. To achieve this trophy, give it to the Envoy at City Hall.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Short Temper
Punch first, ask questions later.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Close to the end of the case “The Muse From Abroad“, you will confront the Envoy, Thomas Norton, in his Office at City Hall. Upon drawing his character portrait (Partygoer!), you get the option to punch him.

After this, you want to head to the Bernadotti company, which is located here:

Put on your detective clothes and talk to the thug in the back of the mansion to gain entry. Say you’re an investigator and also punch him to get inside.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Vengeance of the Lamb

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Lawful Neutral
Interrogate every suspect in the safe murder as a police officer.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
When starting the case “Iron Coffin“, put on the Police Uniform before talking to anyone. While talking to all the suspects (Basilio, Augusta, Billy, Felicia), do not tell that you’re not a cop. You will talk to them several times, the trophy will not unlock until you’ve exhausted all dialogue options with everyone.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Friends in Low Places
Talk to The Pipe in the correct disguise.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
While playing the case “Iron Coffin“, Jon will issue the challenge “Thinning the Ranks” when you are supposed to visit Felicia and her gang the Backyard Boys. Eavesdrop on the two thugs near their hideout and they will reveal a new person you can talk to, the Pipe. Put on some dirty clothes like Vagabond Rags before approaching him at Miner’s Market. This won’t negate the trophy for speaking to everyone dressed as a police officer, as he does not count as a suspect.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Join The Club
Follow the rules of the Blind Duelling Club.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
In the case “Blindsided“, Jon will challenge you to follow the rules of the Blind Duelling Club that you’ve uncovered at the crime scene. To do so,

  1. Do not mention the Club’s existence to the Undertaker at the crime scene
  2. Shoot the vases for practice in the inner courtyard of the von Staub Residence
  3. Do not kill anyone while fighting in the basement of the Blind Duelling Club (make arrests only)
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Open Eyes
Take pity on a poor girl.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
In the case “Blindsided“, you need to gather enough evidence to make the sister Magda a suspect and accuse her. Present the correct evidence (LeMat Revolver, Duel in the Ruins, Letter to Mr. Boddington), but let her go after she tells her side of the story.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Curse Correction
Investigate the third accident.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
While playing the case “Siren Song“, you’ll eventually enter the bar Drinking Dutchman and talk to the bartender. He will talk about a third related accident, which is optional to visit, while your main objective would be to go up the stairs and search for further clues. Head to the location mentioned, interact with the body and speak with the police officer to obtain this trophy.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Not Now
Refuse to help Mycroft.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
After completing the case “The Muse From Abroad” and returning to Stonewood Manor, you’ll encounter an agent of your brother Mycroft, who wants to inform about a new case. For this trophy, say “I’m busy”. This won’t have any consequences, as you can talk to him again immediately and still take the case “Love, Death, and Cordona“.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Not His Toy
Disappoint Mycroft.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Close to the end of the case “Love, Death, and Cordona” when you’ve identified the killer, you’d normally should return to Mycroft’s Agent to let them handle the situation, as they requested. Instead, confront him yourself.

The correct evidence in the accusation against him: Victim Profile, Meeting Gone Wrong, Jailan’s Letter

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Read It and Weep
Find the book.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
At the end of the case “The Missing Shopkeeper“, you’ll be in a bandit’s hideout. After defeating them and interacting with all the clues you can find, pin the piece of evidence “Bandit’s Lair” and retrieve the book from under the bloody mattress in one of the cells.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Child’s Play
Solve all the cases for the police.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Upon completing the story-related case “The Master of Disguise“, you can take cases from the bulletin board inside the Police Station.

The cases you need to play:

  1. The Collie Shangles
  2. Splitting the Loot
  3. What Was Did in the Shadows
  4. The Scapegoat
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Well-Earned Rest
Let an old man have his retirement.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Upon solving the Police cases ( :silver: Child’s Play above), Sergeant Stark gives us a final case called “Plan Bee“. Close to the end, you will talk to a man close to several beehives, you must identify him as “Placido” to trigger a dialogue with him (don’t identify him as “Hive Master” as it would lock you out of the trophy). Placido is Stark’s missing colleague. Then at the very end of the quest when reporting back to Sergeant Stark at the police station, report Placido as dead to unlock the trophy.

Uncover all of the treasures.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
The Snuffbox is a weapon for close combat, which is thrown on the ground to disorient enemies and enabling an arrest if no other environmental (yellow) destructible object is around. It takes some time to recharge, but getting a total of then should be easily doable while playing your second Bandit Lair (or repeating the first).
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Citizen’s Arrest
Arrest ten enemies.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
See Street Sweeper below.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Street Sweeper
Arrest twenty-five enemies.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Is easiest done while playing the Bandit Lairs. Use the yellow highlighted objects to start a short timeframe in which you can arrest someone. Approach them, press :x: , move the :l: stick in the shown direction and be ready to mash the corresponding action-button afterwards. If the stick needs to be moved :l-left: you need to mash :square: , if :l-up: mash :tri: , if :l-right: mash :circle: . Enemies with armor – indicated in blue – need to be stripped off their protection first before being eligible for arresting.

If you accidentally kill someone, it doesn’t matter but will count towards the other trophies.

Both Arrests and Kills only count upon completing the Bandit Lair. Failing or Reloading won’t work. All respective trophies can be done by replaying the same Lair several times in a row.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Finger Slipped
Kill five enemies.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
See Blood On Your Hands below.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap Blood On Your Hands
Kill fifteen enemies.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Is easiest done while playing the Bandit Lairs. Deal some headshots to the unprotected enemies. Those with armor – indicated in blue – need to be stripped off their protection first before being eligible for killing.

Both Arrests and Kills only count upon completing the Bandit Lair. Failing or Reloading won’t work. All respective trophies can be done by replaying the same Lair several times in a row.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap The Tale of the Empty House
Refurbish the entire manor.
Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Trophy Guide & Roadmap
For this trophy, you need to complete side case “The Tale of the Empty House“. It requires you to buy all 22 pieces of furniture from different shops on the map. Some of them exist several times and sell the same inventory. Don’t spend unnecessary money on clothing, as the items in question will cost quite a bit and require finishing several cases. Buying all objects costs a grand total of 645 Currency. Not all items are available from the start. They unlock gradually by playing the main story.

The initial starting point of this Cordona Story is the Auction Note on the ground floor of Stonewood Manor. Upon buying everything, return to the Residence and interact with the respective five clues in the refurbished areas.

Proud to present you with another Day-1 Trophy Guide.
I had never played a Sherlock game before but this turned out to be a nice surprise. It’s a medium sized RPG with an open world that focues mostly on solving cases by investigating and exploring. There’s also combat with guns, can shoot enemies or take them out by non-deadly means. There are traders around town that sell you clothes, and what clothes you wear affect how people will interact with you or if they will talk to you at all.

Really something different from the usual AAA games. If you can look past the technical issues, the gameplay is quite nice, and they made the most of it despite a small budget 🙂

I recommend you to play Crimes & Punishments + The Devil’s Daughter (Testament of SH also now have a PS4 remaster). Both are much much better thant this.

I’ve played all the Sherlock Holmes and can say this is probably the best yet because of the attention to detail throughout the cases and how the characters react to different events

Thank you for the trophy guide. I usually don’t have much interest in Sherlock Holmes games but this is the most interested I’ve ever been. Shame then that the game doesn’t have a physical edition and trophy-breaking bugs (which I assume will be patched out but who knows when?).

It certainly is a very decent game and it had a lot more to offer than I thought it would.
Trophy-breaking bugs would actually be a bit harsh to say. I had two trophies not unlocking. Restarted the game, loaded my last save and completed the last requirement again.
10 Manual savegames (plus several autosaves) come in quite handy 🙂

That’s fair enough, I usually refer to any bugs that prevent a trophy from unlocking as “trophy-breaking” when “glitched trophy” would be more applicable but either way, I don’t really want to play any game just yet when it has those bugs still present.

Unrelated to the bugs, it’s strange that they’re releasing the PS5 version before the PS4 version (which doesn’t even have a release date) when there are far more PS4 consoles sold than PS5 and backwards compatibility being available for PS4 games.

Just wanted to add for the Tale of the Empty House trophy – I think the furniture you can purchase unlocks as the main story progresses (as more rooms in the manor open up). You can’t buy them all at once in the beginning.

Never mind, was doing it too early. For those wondering, as PP and co. are still writing their (excellent) walkthrough pages, this is once you’ve come to the conclusions in your mind palace, NOT at the point of punching him.

    • PhantomFear94 says

      November 21, 2021 at 4:08 pm

….although that didn’t pop the achievement either! Buggy one, for sure. I have a save so I’ll keep trying different things…really hope I don’t need to do the entire case again.

    • PhantomFear94 says

      November 21, 2021 at 7:00 pm

Had to re-do the entire case, but I got it to unlock the 2nd time (loading a mid-case save did not work). I think that saving the injured refugee (a Jon’s Challenge at the camp) may be mandatory. It shouldn’t be, but when I re-ran the case, I saved him. Otherwise, I didn’t do anything else differently. Strongly recommend people

      a) Save right at the very start of ‘The Muse from Abroad
      b) Make another save at the refugee camp, before investigating
      c) Don’t skip cutscenes. I didn’t skip any the second time around, and someone above said they got an achievement/trophy to pop after not skipping cutscenes either. Probably a coincidence, though.

    • dalailama1989 says

      November 21, 2021 at 7:39 pm

Saving him is actually a good point from your side. I did so on my first playthrough, so I couldn’t confirm if this is mandatory or not. I will add a note about it, so everyone is aware 🙂

2 very minor points – more to avoid confusion, just regarding a Cordona Story that won’t technically be completable at the start of Stage Two.

    1) Step Two of this roadmap is to complete all side cases. This is a great time to do it, but technically “The Tale of the Empty House” Cordona story (and its self-titled achievement/trophy) won’t be available to complete like all other cases/stories at this point and requires a touch more progress, maybe 20 mins or so. Some vendor items won’t unlock until you’ve unlocked the final room of the Stonewood Manor house (cabinet of curiosities area, right hand side of ground floor), which you won’t have done right after completing ‘The Muse From Abroad’. At this juncture, play on until you get the Cabinet of Curiosities achievement/trophy (very soon after), and play one some more again until you have the ‘Sacrificial Lamb’ case unlock on your screen. At this point, you should now have everything you need to buy all 22 items for the house and interact with the clues. Before this, this Cordona story won’t be completable. Just wanted to clarify.

    2) This one doesn’t really matter, but technically, “The Tale of the Empty House” Cordona Story doesn’t count towards the “Lore Almighty” achievement/trophy. It unlocked at 10/11 Cordona stories, all others than this one. Despite being listed as a Cordona story, it doesn’t count. In the end, you have to do them all anyway so not a huge deal.

Have you by any chance played the “Lead Zeppelin” DLC-Cordona Story, which is part of the Victorian Starter Pack?
I suspect this one positively impacts the “Lore Almighty” trophy, as there is one extra Story available.

    • PhantomFear94 says

      November 25, 2021 at 1:13 am

I didn’t, actually. I followed your case list and left ‘The Tale of the Empty House’ for the end, so 10/11z I didn’t touch the DLC cases at all.

Ultimately you need to do this case anyway for it’s respective achievement, so it really doesn’t matter, just thought it was interesting that this case isn’t needed despite being listed as a Cordona story.

I can confirm that the trophies for killing bandits cannot be done by replaying completed bandit lairs.

I’ve done three rounds of killing all 12 bandits and surviving but the game will not recognize it.
