Introduction

Welcome to the Hell is Us Trophy Guide! Hell is Us is the newest game from Rogue Factor, a Canadian game developer who previously made turn-based strategy games based on Games Workshop properties. Hell is Us is a significant departure, being an adventure game played in similar manner to a Soulslike combat-wise, but with a very heavy emphasis on solving puzzles and using clues found throughout the game to determine where you are meant to go and what to do. The game doesn’t include a traditional map or any objective markers, so you need to think about the information you’re given and use cardinal navigation and context clues to solve mysteries and progress the game.

Trophy-wise the game requires you to finish all side content, completing Good Deed and solving Mysteries to access all locations and receive all awards. You’ll collect almost all possible collectibles in the process of doing this, though not 100% of every item is required. Some Good Deeds and NPCs you need to converse with are missable, but most missables are only triggered by progressing the story, so you can make sure to complete these before story events, then everything outside of those missables can still be cleaned up after the story.

Step 1: Follow Walkthrough to get 100% in 1 Playthrough

Follow the Hell is Us Collectible Walkthrough and you’ll get all trophies in 1 playthrough. It includes all trophies, collectibles, missables, and explains how to advance the story objectives.

Players who prefer to search by themself can follow the Missables Guide which lists only the strictly missable collectibles.

Aside from missables, everything else can be completed after the story when you load your save. This means you can complete all side content as you go outside of what is specified in the Missable Guide, or leave everything not missable and clean it up post-story.

Step 2: Cleanup Remaining Trophies

After you finish Act 3 and reload your save you are placed back in the final story location, then can continue exploring the game world and continue cleaning up any remaining side activities. As long as you completed the missables during the story then everything else can be cleaned up now, as all areas are still accessible to you.

Trophy Tracker Exploit for Good Deeds and Relics

On PS5 you are able to exploit the PS5 System trophy trackers to earn :gold: Man of the People and :gold: Antiquarian without actually collecting everything in one playthrough. Currently the game adds +1 to the trophy tracker for these two trophies whenever you complete a Good Deed or acquire a Relic, even if it is one you have collected before. This is most useful if you manage to miss a Good Deed or a Relic during a playthrough, as you can start a new save and then turn in the same one over and over to progress the trackers, then the trophies are unlocked when the trackers progress to 100%.

This can be done without PS+. When you have a Good Deed ready to turn in (such as The Golden Watch in Senedra Forest) or rewards available to be collected from Gildas Brom (such as from closing a Timeloop):

  • Save manually at a save point, then go to the Good Deed turn in or Gildas and either complete the Good Deed or claim the rewards.
  • As soon as the Good Deed completion appears or you receive the rewards close the game
  • Launch the game and reload your save and you should be back at your last save, but the trophy counter has been increased +1
  • Repeat until the trophy unlocks

If this doesn’t work at first you may need to delete your save from the PS5 save menu (back it up first if you haven’t completed everything else) then try again starting on a completely fresh save.

MISSABLE

This trophy is awarded for completing all 26 Good Deeds during a playthrough.

Good Deeds are interactions involving people in the game world, generally requiring finding and bringing someone an item, or doing something that they ask of you. A handful of these are MISSABLE and is the highest priority thing to keep track of. They become missable through story progression typically because the person involved dies or disappears if not completed, so they are easy to complete without missing as long as you are aware of the point they need to be completed by.

No Mysteries are missable, so you can complete them at any time you have access to the location and required items or information to solve them, and they can all be cleaned up after completing the story.

All the Rage
Defeat all 3 Haze of Rage variants

Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is awarded when you defeat a Tier I, II, and III version of a Haze of Rage (red).

You will fight all versions of all Hazes throughout the game and in the final area you must fight all three versions while defeating bosses required to complete the story, so you will earn each of these four trophies eventually as you progress.

Buzz Killer

Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is awarded when you defeat a Tier I, II, and III version of a Haze of Grief (blue).

Big Game Hunter
Defeat all 5 Hollow Walker variants
Bronze
This trophy is awarded for defeating all 5 versions of the Hollow Walker enemies. Hollow Walkers are the white faceless enemies you encounter throughout the game. The earliest you can earn this is once you reach the third area Vyssa Hills, as this is where the final variant starts to appear.
Rise and Phol
Defeat 40 Hazes of tier 1
Silver
This trophy is awarded for defeating a total of 40 Hazes of the Tier I version.

Hazes are the coloured cloud enemies that appear attached to Hollow Walkers, and must be dealt with before the Hollows can be damaged. You will encounter many more than the 40 required for each of these trophies throughout the game. Each time you defeat a Haze, even if it is respawned because you don’t defeat the attached Hollow in time counts toward this number.

You can see your progress toward each of these three trophies with the PS5 trophy tracking viewable on the trophy list.

Phol Guy
Defeat 40 Hazes of tier 2
Silver
This trophy is awarded for defeating a total of 40 Hazes of the Tier II version.
The Harder They Phol
Defeat 40 Hazes of tier 3
Silver
This trophy is awarded for defeating a total of 40 Hazes of the Tier III version.
Legend of the Phol
Close all Timeloops and defeat all remaining entities
Gold
This trophy is awarded for closing all 14 Timeloops, and then clearing all remaining Hollow enemies in each area in one playthrough.

Timeloops are the source of the Hollow enemies appearing in the game. Most locations have at least one Timeloop, and to close them you need to defeat the Timeloop Guardians that appear in their associated location, before entering the Timeloop and using the correct Amine Prism to close it. Once the Timeloop in an area is closed enemies won’t respawn, then to earn this trophy you need to go through each location in the game and defeat every remaining Hollow enemy so that every location is completely clear of enemies, as conveyed by the Threats: Clear text that appears on a location in the APC map menu.

Good Vibrations
Upgrade one of each Weapon type to Grade 5
Bronze
MISSABLE

This trophy is awarded for upgrading one of each of the four Weapon types (Sword, Twin Axes, Polearm, Greatsword) to Grade 5, which is the highest upgrade level.

Weapons and Defensive Gear are upgraded at the Blacksmith Victor located in Acasa Marshes – Jova who becomes available in Act 1 of the story. Initially he can’t upgrade weapons to this level, but along the main story path you can find books to bring back to him that allow him to upgrade gear further.

This and the other two upgrade-related trophies are marked MISSABLE because once you clear Timeloops enemies no longer respawn, so at that point the Lymbic Shards you have are finite and you cannot obtain any more in your current playthrough. You receive so many over the course of the game though (including a huge number by defeating the four bosses in the Eye of God which is required to finish Act 3) that you can’t miss this trophies unless you were purposely wasting the Shards creating a large number of Lymbic Consumables, which you shouldn’t do as they aren’t that useful and you can find tons throughout the story.

Accessorizing
Imbue a Defensive Gear to Grade 4
Bronze

This trophy is awarded for upgrading any Defensive Gear item to Grade 4, which is the highest upgrade level.

To the Teeth

Gold
This trophy is awarded for performing research on all 45 different research items, and is awarded after you earn the other 6 :bronze: trophies for completing each category.

Research Items are collectibles found throughout the game world, that can then be given to Tania in the APC to learn more information about them after she joins you in Act 1. They have six associated categories that each gives a :bronze: trophy when you research them all, along with an article from Tania that pieces together the lore of the game. Researching items also gives the solutions to the Vault of Forbidden Knowledge doors, though you can open these if you already know the solution before it is provided by Tania.

Vault Raider
Unseal a Vault of Forbidden Knowledge
Silver
This trophy is awarded for opening a Vault of Forbidden Knowledge for the first time.

There are 6 Vaults of Forbidden Knowledge spread throughout the game. Only 1 needs to be opened for this trophy, but each Vault also contains a Relic so they all need to be opened while you are collecting them for :gold: Antiquarian. You learn the solution for the door and a hint at the Vault location when turning in Research Items with Tania, but you can look up the solution and open the Vault at any time as long as you have access to the location where it is found.

Tech-Savvy
Acquire all Drone Modules
Bronze
This trophy is awarded for acquiring at least 1 of each of the 8 unique Drone Modules during a playthrough.

Drone Modules are abilities you can slot 4 of at a time in your Drone and provide abilities that you can use during combat. There are 8 unique Drone Modules, each having an upgraded version for a total of 16 that can be found. They are typically found in the game world on the bodies of OMSIF soldiers, or obtained from mysteries. You only need to acquire one version of each of the 8 unique modules for this trophy.

Emotional Damage
Acquire at least one Glyph of each Lymbic Sphere
Bronze
This trophy is awarded for acquiring at least on Glyph from each Lymbic Sphere.

Glyphs are like Drone Modules and are slotted into weapons, giving access to unique abilities to be used in combat. These are given as rewards for completing Good Deeds and closing Timeloops, along with being found throughout the game in locations such as the Vaults of Forbidden Knowledge.

They are separated into the 5 separate Lymbic Spheres: Rage, Grief, Neutral, Terror, and Ecstasy. Acquiring one of each Sphere for a total of 5 unlocks this trophy.

» Hell is Us Collectible Walkthrough
» Hell is Us Glyph Locations

Emotional Warfare
Acquire all Glyphs of each Lymbic Sphere
Silver
This trophy is awarded for acquiring at least one version of all Glyphs in the game, for a total of 25.

Each Lymbic Sphere has 5 different Glyphs, each of which have a normal, Enhanced, and Elite version for a total of 75 Glyphs that can be found throughout the game. For this trophy you only need one version of each for a total of 25, regardless of what upgrade version it is.

Curator
Acquire 10 Relics
Bronze
This trophy is awarded for acquiring any 10 Relics. See the below trophy :gold: Antiquarian.
Antiquarian
Acquire all Relics
Gold
MISSABLE

This trophy is awarded for acquiring all 29 Relics in a playthrough.

Relics are equipment that allows you to use one relic that gives a passive buff, and one relic that gives an active ability similar to Drone Modules and Glyphs. There are a total of 29 throughout the game and are given as rewards for Good Deeds, closing Timeloops, or found in locations such as the Vaults of Forbidden Knowledge.

This is MISSABLE for the same reason Good Deeds are, as some of the missable Good Deeds award Relics for completion, so if you miss those Good Deeds you won’t be able to collect all 29 Relics.

» Hell is Us Missables Guide
» Hell is Us Collectible Walkthrough

Well-Travelled
Visit all locations
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is awarded for visting all locations in the game. No locations are missable and you travel to all locations over the course of the story, so you will earn this at the start of Act 3 once you reach the Eye of God.

Lend an Ear
Converse with all NPCs
Bronze
MISSABLE

This trophy is awarded for conversing with all 21 conversational NPCs during one playthrough. This seems to require only the NPCs who move into a menu when you speak with them, where you can select the different progression related dialogues on the left, or the optional extra info dialogues on the right. NPCs spread throughout the game world who you interact with and they just say a line of dialogue do not seem to be required.

This is MISSABLE as some of the NPCs die or disappear after certain story events, so if you missed speaking to them earlier and progressed without the information they give then you can miss this trophy during a playthrough.

NPCs are listed in the order they appear in the story in the Missables Guide along with their location.

» Hell is Us Missables Guide

Keymaster
Solve 25 puzzles that require the right item
Bronze
This trophy is awarded for solving any 25 puzzles that require you to have specific items. This means things like doors that require keys, Lymbic chests, etc. While working on all other trophies you will solve many more than 25 of these in total.
Long and (not so) Winding Road
Traverse the tunnel from the Lymbic Forge to the Eye of God.
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is awarded once you travel through the tunnel past the Lymbic Forge, at the start of Act 3.

It’s Mine Now
Acquire a means of transportation
Silver
Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is awarded once you obtain the key and return to the APC in Sendra Forest, allowing you to travel to the second area.

Ever After
Ensure that all possible NPCs end up at Lake Cynon
Silver
MISSABLE

This trophy is awarded for having all possible NPCs end up in Lake Cynon after specific events in Act 2 of the story. This is missable as two of the NPCs are related to Good Deeds.  One is a missable Good Deed, and the other needs to be completed before a specific point in the story even though the Good Deed itself isn’t missable. If you missed either of these conditions the NPCs won’t be in Lake Cynon.

The NPCs are:

  • Abbott Jaffer and Rebecca who both come to Lake Cynon after the story events during Act 2 at Pathem Abbey.
  • Halie Tellah, who is related to Good Deed Love Thy Neighbour which must be completed during Act 1.
  • Maxie (dog in Jova), who is related to Good Deed Man’s Best Friend. This can only be completed from the start of Act 2 when some of the soldiers leave Jova, but must be completed before going to Pathem Abbey to trigger Jaffer and Rebecca moving to Lake Cynon. If you complete the Good Deed after they move then the dog won’t appear with Rebecca in Lake Cynon.

The trophy is awarded the next time you travel to Lake Cynon after the NPCs appear, so if you aren’t ever going back to Lake Cynon after the first visit then you wouldn’t earn this until you travel there to place the remaining Keystones to complete Act 2.

» Hell is Us Missables Guide

Passion for Fashion
Acquire and wear all baseball caps
Silver
This trophy is awarded for obtaining and wearing all 10 Baseball Caps during a playthrough.

There are 10 caps counting the starting one, which means you need to find the remaining 9. These are spread throughout the game world or found in areas available after solving Mysteries, so they can be obtained at any time and cleanup up after finishing the story. Once you have collected them all you need to equip each one at least once in the Loadout menu to receive the trophy.

If the trophy doesn’t unlock after wearing all 10 make sure you don’t have the “no hat” cosmetic option enabled while switching between the hats.

By following the missables guide, would I still be able to go through and explore and figure most things out by myself?

Usually don’t have an issue with following a guide, but this game is kind of built around the idea of figuring things out yourself.

Yes, it only covers the specifically missable stuff you need to watch for. Most of the more involved puzzles are related to story progression or the Mysteries which aren’t missable.

You should be able to run back to this on the second save in about an hour. You would only need to complete the two Good Deeds, then complete up to the story event at Pathem Abbey to have everyone move to Lake Cynon and it should unlock.

Thanks for the guide Gage, by the way, a heads-up that you don’t really need to do the dog good deed before giving the keys Atticus. The couple stay near the mine anyway, and you can give them the collar, then the dog will be in the lake as well and the trophy pops fine.

The exploit must only work on good deeds and not relics, as exiting the game and coming back, the option for relics isn’t there anymore. Thus meaning it was used the first time when speaking to Gildas and can’t be redone.

    • Gage says

If you have PS+ try backing up your save and fully deleting the one off your system, then try doing it on the first relic you receive on a completely new save. Someone I talked to during the review period said they tried it for relics and it worked, but it might not work on Relics you’ve already picked up on an existing save slot.

If you don’t have PS+ you could try rushing to that point on a second save slot and specifically get that relic, maybe it counts all relics across all save slots.

    • PhotoGamer says

      September 5, 2025 at 9:58 pm

Edit: it works as long as you save before leaving to the Hills and not saving again before taking to Gildas. That was the only way I wa sable to replicate a relic usage, but was only a one time thing. I couldn’t spam using it. Perhaps the game doesn’t allow more once you’re caught up. TBD I guess lol

Community Manager on Reddit has replied to certain posts about a patch that is supposed to be in the pipeline for the 19th. One of the alleged fixes is to certain achievements not properly counting and not unlocking. He said we’d just have to load up the game and then it’d recount things for the pops.

    Hello

First of all Thank you for this useful guide !

Just a question for the Legend of the Phol trophy : once I have closed every timeloops, should I clean every maps by killing every ennemies ? Basically, I have to explore again all the maps ?

I mean it can take a lot of time, since each maps are more or less complex…

It’s been 7 hours that i’m at Vyssa Hills looking for the last level 1 ennemy remaining for the Legend of the Phol trophy. The ennemy doesn’t want to spawn anywhere in the map. I can’t believe that I miss an area after all that time of research.

Also when you run near an ennemy (even if you can’t see him yet) your stamina starts to decrease. At no time my stamina decreased during 7 hours of search.

I assume the trophy is bugged for me.

I noticed after Act 3 that I had a converted option left with the dude on the balcony. (Even though I did speak to him when I first saw him) Would loading a backup save from mid Act 2 resolve this when speaking to or do I need to do another play through?

I cant for the life of me clear Senedra Forest! I’ve cleared every place on the map except for the Forest. It says there is still Level 2 threats present but can’t find anything!!! I went back to the very beginning to the top of the tower with NO luck. I spent 6 hours on this area searching meticulously. I thought maybe there was an enemy stuck in one of the cells but all the cell doors are opened and empty. This is all I need to clear for plat too 🙁

There’s a small bug in game, for Legend of Phol trophy, if you hover on plains of mist area from navigation map you’ll notice it says clear when you hover from any cleared location but hover on plains of mist after you’ve hovered on uncleared area you’ll see it’s unclear and have enemies.

Lend an ear did not unlock for me. I followed your guide to a T and never popped when talking to the DR through through the intercom. So annoying.

I only missed “Ever After” as I didnt want to follow a guide for my very first play.

But in case you’re wondering, you can start a new game and get “Ever After” after just 1h-1:30h of play. So, if that happens to you, dont worry.

Also, I was able to get Man of the People even after losing 2 good deeds. I missed the time for Incognito and Forlom’s Fate, but I had all the items, as soon as the last deed ended was failed, I got the trophy.

    Hi,

Just to say, there is one more missable trophy – The Harder they Phol. This is because you have to kill the *actual* haze enemy (i.e. the big colorful shape shifting blobs), not simply the pale enemy with the glowing stomach/vomit.

On my first play through I used a tactic where I’d stun the enemy from a distance with a lymbic ability, then rush and follow up with melee to finish them off. So the hazes were not spawning and I was not killing them. By the time I’d cleaned out all enemies from the world I’d only killed 39 (of the required 40!) tier III hazes. I had to do a rerun until tier III started spawning again to get that final kill.

So make sure you’re going to get this before you close all your tier III timeloops.
