In Silent Hill f, New Game+ is available after completing the game once. Load a Clear Save File and you will start New Game+. New Game+ will have new areas, new collectibles and new items for triggering various Endings. Following this will allow you to unlock Endings 2, 3 and 5 with some manual saves to revert back to. Omamoris and Emas that have been collected will now be replaced with offerings.

Highly Missable Warning for Endings 2/3 + Winners Don’t Do Drugs
After being chased by the Fog Monster, you will be able to find Red Capsules throughout the game. For Endings 2 and 3, you must never use any Red Capsules, and for Winners Don’t Do Drugs
, you will need to play until Shu’s House without using a Red Capsule, or picking any up in his Workshop. As you cannot use them, it is best to simply avoid picking them up at all to avoid the risk of using them. You will also want to remove them from your inventory so you don’t accidentally use one, which can be done by pressing
and then discarding them with
.
Radio Broadcast (for Ending 5)
After seeing the first two enemies, turn left and there will be a gap in the wall. You will be able to hear the crackling of a radio (this will come out of your controller speaker if you have it enabled). Crawl through and go into the back to find the radio. Listen to it and it will talk about an unidentified object destroying the bridge.
Inari-sama Box + Document: Diary of Revenge (1) + Character Upgrade
After the first Hokora Shrine, go down the stairs and immediately turn right. You will spot a shoe box that can be opened, which will contain both the document and ema.

During the Shrine Vault Puzzle, you will be able to access a new section in the southeast. Take the left path and you will find an Ema on a rock.
Inari-sama Box + Omamori: Shrew Mole
Cross the bridge to the large tree, then go behind it to find a shoe box that you can open.
Ebisugaoka Second Visit
Key Item: Research Journal Photo 2
When on the northern horizontal road, this will be outside the first house on the left. This will update the Sacred Sword Puzzle.
Inari-sama Box + Document: Diary of Revenge (2) + Character Upgrade
Immediately past the Hokora Shrine, turn left to find this in a garden by some statues.
Key Item: Rusted Flask
Go all the way north up the hill to Sennensugi Shrine, where you will find this next to an Antique Comb.
Jizo Statue 2/5 (Sacred Sword Requirement)
Return down the hill and take the first left, then go left again into an open area. Go behind the building to find a Jizo Statue, then interact with it to offer the Rusted Flask.

Inari-sama Door + Inventory Upgrade: Embroidered Drawstring Bag
Follow the corridors northwest to find a door that can now be opened. On the shelf in the back left will be this upgrade, which will unlock Fervent Collector
if it is the last Inventory Upgrade.
Ebisugaoka Third Visit
You will now be able to find all 3 Movie Posters for Ending 5. Make a separate manual save so that you can reload after triggering Ending 5!
“The Great Space Invasion” Movie Poster 1 (for Ending 5)
Go through the fields to a house where you can move some planks. Go through and the poster will be on the wall. If you previously interacted with the radio talking about unidentified objects, then you should see a short cutscene of a UFO flying away.
“The Great Space Invasion” Movie Poster 2 (for Ending 5)
In the southeastern section of the town, where you have to move through alleyways. On a wall near the Hokora Shrine. You will see a cutscene of two UFOs flying away.
“The Great Space Invasion” Movie Poster 3 (for Ending 5)
Return back northwest through the alleyway near Chizuruya General Store. On the wall of the building here will be the poster, interact with it. You will see a cutscene of three UFOs flying away.
Ending 5: The Great Space Invasion!
Once you go back through the alleyway, you will hear the sound of a UFO. Walk east to the front of the general store where you will see a toy UFO on a seat next to a movie review. Read it, and you will trigger this ending.
At this point, you have two choices. You can either reload your save from the beginning of this area and continue playing, or you can save the clear file and begin a new playthrough. The former will save you from replaying the first few areas again, but if you start NG+ on a save file with Ending 5 completed, you can get a new weapon. If you choose to this, when you reach the first movie poster and read it, there’ll be a cutscene of a UFO dropping a weapon for you. This weapon is the PP-8001, an unbreakable weapon that becomes shorter on lower durability. While this weapon is nice, it’s not as powerful as the Sacred Sword you will get later, so it’s not a huge difference if you choose to get it or not.
Key Item: Research Journal Photo 3
Once you reach the end of the alleyway section on the west side of town, this will be on a red barrel. This will update the Sacred Sword Puzzle.
Character Upgrade
Go up the short set of stairs after the next Hokora Shrine and turn left. Go behind the building and this will be on a stool by the back door.
Key Item: Broken Japanese Geta Sandal
After the cutscene with your friends outside the Middle School, ignore the gate and go down the southern path to find this on the ground by the blockade.
Jizo Statue 3/5 (Sacred Sword Requirement)
With the sandals on hand, return back to the east and go up the long stairs near the Hokora Shrine. Go behind the house on the left to find the Jizo Statue and offer up the sandals.
Ebisugaoka Middle School
Inari-sama Box + Document: Diary of Revenge (3) + Omamori: Rabbit
Once outside, go to the western side and climb through a window into a classroom, where you hear a crackling radio. This shoe box will be in the back. The crackling radio is for some lore you can get from interacting with a few objects in this room, it is not a part of the UFO Ending.
Worship Hall
Inari-sama Door + Omamori: Swallow + Character Upgrade
In the western area, shimmy through the gap in the wall to the south to find a door you can open. Inside you will find both items.
Document: Sakuko’s Diary (4)
In the eastern area, on a shelf in the first room with the Hokora Shrine.
Document: Sakuko’s Diary (5)
On a bench in the locker room.
Document: Sakuko’s Diary (6)
In the room with the third Hokora Shrine, on a bench in the corner.
Ebisugaoka Fourth Visit
Inari-sama Box + Document: Diary of Revenge (4) + Character Upgrade
Go up the stairs until you reach a gazebo, then walk around it to find this box on the ground.
Omamori: Goat
Once you reach the mountain hut where you get the gate key, you will be able to go inside. This will be sitting directly in front of you as you enter.
Key Item: Research Journal Photo 4
After the chase sequence, head up the stairs and this will be on the stone shrine on the left. This will update the Sacred Sword Puzzle.
Key Item: Cracked Hibachi Brazier
Continue to Shu’s house and go behind it to his workshop. Walk around to the side of the workshop to find this on the ground.
Trophy: Winners Don’t Do Drugs
Once you enter Shu’s Workshop, DO NOT pick up any of the Red Capsules. Grab the letter on the desk, and if you didn’t use any Red Capsules so far nor pick up any of the capsules in his workshop, you will get the trophy. This will also satisfy the No Red Capsules requirement for Endings 2 and 3, as they will no longer appear for the rest of the game.
Jizo Statue 4/5 (Sacred Sword Requirement)
Return back up the path towards the Hokora Shrine and there will be a Jizo Statue off to the left. Offer the Hibachi Brazier to it.
Main Hall
Inari-sama Door
As you already have your Fox Arm, you will be able to immediately go through the doors in the southeast corner of the Main Hall. Go up the stairs twice and deal with the enemies, reveal the hidden room with
and then open the door.
Key Item: Hotei-sama Sitting Cross-legged (for Ending 2)
Once you go through the Inari-sama door, head up to the temple and this bottle will be sitting on the table.
Character Upgrade
Sitting on a cabinet on the left side of the temple.
Crimson Water Puzzle (requirement for Endings 2 + 4)
Hard Difficulty – Down by the water is a stone you can read with this puzzle on it. You need to ring 3 of the 5 bells in the area in a specific order. You will have to ring the bells one at a time, once every time the water fountain in the middle of the water tips and makes the loud clacking sound. Each bell will have a lantern on them with a symbol, which indicate the order to ring them.
- Bell 1: Volcano, up near the temple entrance
- Bell 2: Water, on the small island next to the puzzle stone
- Bell 3: Tree, on the stone bridge on the right path
Doing this will turn the water crimson, which will be needed for cleansing the Sacred Sword once you get it later.
Ebisugaoka Fifth Visit
Key Item: Research Journal Photo 5
In the yard of the third house as you go down the hill, sitting on a table. This will update the Sacred Sword Puzzle.
Document: Clinical Trial (2)
After going down the hill some more, there will be a house on your left with some stairs. Go up the stairs to find this sitting next to the fifth Jizo Statue.
Key Item: Dad’s Old Kitchen Knife
Go down a bit further to the next house where some enemies are located. Go around the house to find this knife embedded in a tree.
Jizo Statue 5/5 (Sacred Sword Requirement)
Return back to the previous house and up the stairs to offer the knife to the last Jizo Statue.
Weapon: Sacred Sword (for Endings 2 + 3)
With all 5 Jizo Statues completed, fight your way back up the mountain to the Thousand Year Cedar, past Shu’s house. You will receive the Sacred Sword. This will count as a fourth weapon and cannot break. It will restore its durability when it is sheathed (when you are using other weapons).
At this point, it is recommended that you make a separate manual save. Purifying the Sacred Sword will lock you into Ending 2 (if you picked up the Hotei-sama Sitting Cross-legged), whereas not purifying it will allow you to get Ending 3. Saving here will allow you to only replay a portion of the game to obtain this ending after finishing NG+.
Weapon: Purified Sacred Sword (for Ending 2)
Now go back down the mountain to where you were before, then go up the stairs in the northwest to the Inara-sama shrine. If you did the Crimson Water puzzle in the Main Hall, the water trough will be filled with crimson water. Interact with it to purify the Sacred Sword. Once purified, the sword will no longer restore durability when sheathed. While it cannot break still, when at zero durability it will do incredibly low damage.
Inari-sama Box + Document: Diary of Revenge (5) + Character Upgrade
After going through the park, this will be sitting in the yard of the house before the Hokora Shrine.
Shimizu Residence
Inari-sama Box + Document: Diary of Revenge (6) + Character Upgrade
In the first area of the residence, go along the west corridor and north two rooms, to the room before the Photo Room. This box will be sitting to the side. If you have gotten all 6 Diary of Revenge documents, you will unlock Fate of the Apostate
.
Scales Puzzle
Ending 2 – You will need to place the five dolls on the scales to balance them.
- Left Scale – Headless Doll, Half Mask Doll
- Right Scale – All other dolls
Ominous Photo Puzzle
Ending 2 – Back in the first area, place the photo of Hinako on the empty space in the Photo Room. Then rotate the photos of Hinako and her parents to be upright, then turn the photos of her friends upside down. This will reward you with the White Bird and Fox Plate.
My Room Puzzle
Ending 2 – Once you have the three crests, you will need to place them on the plaque in front of Hinako’s Room in the first area.
- Left Spot – Scales
- Right Spot – Black Bird (flip Swords with
) - Top Spot – Fox
- Bottom Spot – Nothing (flip Heavens with
)
Treasure Hall
Inari-sama Door
Once you enter the puzzle room for the third crest (with all the fox statues and six doors), approach the door on your immediate right and it will have the Inari-sama design on it. If you have opened all Inara-sama doors and boxes up until this point, you will unlock Inari-sama’s Secrets
.
Character Upgrade
On a cabinet in the back of this room.
Mural Puzzle
Ending 2 – Place the three crests into the correct spot in the mural.
- Fox Mask Crest in far left slot, image of a Fox with a fan
- Black Sparrow Crest in the slot directly next to that, image of a lantern dangling from a red-roofed cage
- White Sparrow Crest in bottom middle slot, image of a resting Fox
Dark Shrine
Before going into the boss fight, it is recommended that you make a separate manual save. This will allow you to retry for the trophy if you fail to get it now.
Trophy: Puppetmaster
If you are on Ending 2, you will fight a different boss at the end, the Tsukomogami. This boss will use multiple weapons, and will eventually teleport far away and shoot golden arrows at you. For this trophy, you must get through this arrow phase without being hit by any arrows. It will have a few attacks here, but only three that fire arrows. For the first attack, it can fire 3 arrows into the air that fly towards you, dodge when these get close and be prepared to dodge 3 times. For the second attack, it can fire a volley of quick arrows directly at you. These will move quickly so you need to react with multiple dodges to avoid getting hit. For the third attack, it will shoot a rain of arrows directly up that will litter the entire area around you, just dodge constantly through this. In order to end this phase, you need to reach the boss, so keep running forward and dodging attacks as they come in. The other attacks that create waves can also be dodged, but if you get hit by these it doesn’t matter.
It is highly recommended that you do this fight with the Suzuran and Boar Omamoris. The former will make Perfect Dodges easier, which will fully restore your stamina, while the latter will make stamina regenerate faster. These will ensure you don’t run out of stamina mid attack. Alternatively you can use the Shrew Mole Omamori if you feel comfortable going into this phase on low health, as this will make it so dodges do not deplete stamina. If you are playing on Hard or Lost in the Fog action difficulty, you can lower it down to Story after dying a few times to make it easier to get to this phase faster, but this would mean you wouldn’t get the trophy for finishing the game on Hard/Lost in the Fog action difficulty, which is why the save beforehand is recommended.
Ending 2: Fox’s Wedding
This will unlock after beating Tsukumogami. Make sure to make a Clear Save File after completing this, as you will need to start a third playthrough on a Clear Save that has finished at least two endings.
At this point, you can load your save from earlier in the game before purifying the Sacred Sword. Do not purify the sword, then play through the rest of the game. This will put you on Ending 3.
Shimizu Residence
Scales Puzzle
Ending 3 – You will need to place the five dolls on the scales to balance them.
- Left Scale – Hinako Doll (blue shirt), Half Mask Doll
- Right Scale – All other dolls
Ominous Photo Puzzle
Ending 3 – Place the photo of Hinako on the empty space in the Photo Room. Rotate the photos of Hinako, Shu and Sakuko upright, then turn the photos of Hinako’s parents and Rinko upside down.
My Room Puzzle
Ending 3 – Once you have the three crests, you will need to place them on the plaque in front of Hinako’s Room in the first area.
- Left Spot – White Bird (flip Fox with
) - Right Spot – Scales
- Top Spot – Swords
- Bottom Spot – Nothing (flip Heavens with
)
Treasure Hall
Mural Puzzle
Ending 3 – Place the three crests into the correct spot in the mural.
- Fox Mask Crest in top left slot, image of a Fox holding up a lantern
- White Sparrow Crest in bottom right slot, image of a running Fox
- Black Sparrow Crest in the slot directly next to that.
Dark Shrine
Trophy: Fox Tamer
After briefly refighting the Shiromuku from Ending 1, Ending 3 will have another new boss, Shichibi. Three times throughout this fight, the boss will weaken and start spawning enemies. Make sure to kill all the enemies during these phases before you attack the boss. If you kill all of the enemies before finishing the boss, you will get this trophy.
Ending 3: The Fox Wets Its Tail
This will unlock after beating Shichibi. Make sure to make a Clear Save File after completing this, as you will need to start a third playthrough on a Clear Save that has finished at least two endings.
Now start a new playthrough by loading a Clear Save File with at least two endings completed (either Ending 1 and 2 or Ending 1 and 3).
Next: New Game+2

Dan says
If i accidentally pick up red capsules then discard them will I still get the trophy?
Archavia says
Yes you can pick them up, just don’t use them. The only ones you cannot pick up are the three in Shu’s Workshop, which is right where you get the trophy anyway so if you accidentally pick one up there you can just reload the most recent save.
John says
I am reading the requirements for all endings, new games 1,2 etc and i am somehow frustrated….in between all to do checklists, and all this confusing “to do things” maybe we forgot to just have fun with the game…..go there, do this, do that, dont do that, this trigger that ending, the other triggers different ending…..i like to collect platinum trophies but with all these spoilers and guides maybe we lost the enjoyment of just playing the game blindly?i bet most of us before starting the game we come here to read what is the best way to play it so we don’t miss any trophies….
Seeker says
M8,Just do as i do…First run totally blind, enjoy Explore by yourself and enjoy the story, and than in case follow the guide for Ng+ and Ng++.
The First run Is Always the One we MUST enjoy.
Ruffio says
No one is stopping you from playing without a guide… you came to a guide website. Lol
verseszero says
There is a lot to do for all the trophies/achievements – Collecting specific documents, getting all the charms, upgrades, etc. Definitely needed a guide on NG+ and NG++ for that. But that’s true for many games if you’re going for 100% completion. If you just want all the story and to see all the endings, it’s not that hard. Don’t take pills, 5 statues to get the sword, then an extra puzzle for one ending, and an extra statue for the last one. The guide helps but its not that hard to figure out from in-game clues.
Mo_Cage says
Hi please help !
I couldn’t pick the ema and the box at the dark shrine at the beginning of new game + for some reason it was forcing me to follow the fox guy!!!
It’s ema and the small box . Is it ok to get them in new game ++ , or I’m doomed ???
Emanon says
This Document Sakuko’s Diary (5)
Is actually Sakuko’s Diary (1)
Means you are missing one, since the one referenced in New Game+ is not actually Number 5.
Alexander says
You might’ve missed Sakuko’s Diary (1) during your first playthrough and that’s why it spawned the 1st one and not the 5th one
Ire says
if I didn’t offered the faded bride doll in the first visit in ebisugaoka, can I do it later?
Archavia says
Presumably you could do this during Ebisugaoka Fifth Visit, as you can access the first Jizo Shrine during that section.
NoizY says
I’m a bit confused about red remark. Even I picked up the Hotei-sama Sitting Cross-legged but not purify the sacred sword. Am i still be lock at Ending 2 ?
And not pick up the Hotei-sama Sitting Cross-legged. Can is till purify the sword? Thanks
Archavia says
Ending 2 requires either purifying the sword or not taking the sword. If you have the unpurified sword, you will get Ending 3, regardless of if you have the Hotei-sama in your inventory.
Psykoknight65 says
I cannot get the timing on the crimson water puzzle at all
Psykoknight65 says
Meant to comment this on a different tab .y bad, also figured out what I was doing wrong
Lee says
One thing I want to clarify, so with new documents/collectible items in NG+ and NG++ does that mean that they are only obtainable at a certain NG? or will I be able to get them on a collectible run on NG+++? Its bit confusing because the way it was phrased and laid out made it seem like its only for NG+ and NG++ only.
Alexander says
From what I’ve read, some documents that you take in a first playthrough are then replaced with new documents, such as the Sakuko’s Diary, so you should be fine on getting the new ones in a subsequent playthrough
HelpingStrand says
Just a small note: There’s a tiny typo at the end: it currently says ”after being Shichibi” but should probably be ”after beating Shichibi”. Thanks for the helpful guide!
Alex says
For the UFO ending, can I reload a save where I’ve interacted with the three posters, but is before triggering the ending and continue to get the other endings? Or does the save have to be before the posters?
Mags Prime says
I completed my first run blind, ensuring I collected all the missable items.
For collectibles in NG+, should i follow the ng+ guide or the ng ?
Thanks
Abuguet says
I’m sure you already got your answer but for future trophy hunters. If you do your first run blind and you made sure to find all the missables, you have to follow both guides in NG+.
You’re going to need the items you missed in NG (character upgrades, bags, documents, etc) which are all still there just not in the NG+ guide plus the ones exclusive to NG+.
I opened both guides side to side on the same monitor and scrolled as needed. Iit wasn’t difficult or confusing. It’s definitely doable.
Alex says
After getting Endings 2,3,&5 Is it possible to “grind” for Faith by doing an extra NG+ playthrough on Story to fully upgrade Hinako and get all Omamoris before doing Lost in the Fog difficulties and Ending 4?
Archavia says
Yes, definitely possible. But if you want to do an extra playthrough to grind for upgrades/omamoris, you should do Ending 4 on that playthrough and do Ending 1 or Ending on your LitF playthrough, as Ending 4 is the hardest.
Ed says
I missed out on first NG+ inventory upgrade Packing Tips on my ongoing NG+ (I think I reloaded a save and forgot to get that)
If I do a NG++ after this one, will it spawn there?
Archavia says
I believe it will be there until collected regardless of playthrough.
Chato says
I made a manual save with PS Plus before purifying the sword, not realizing the guide was referring to an in game manual save. I’m about to finish Ending 2, should I load my PS Plus save from before purifying the sword to get Ending 3, or will I have to start a completely new game?
Archavia says
That should still work. As long as you make a manual save to load NG+2 after completing Ending 3.
Violet says
““The Great Space Invasion” Movie Poster 1 (for Ending 5)” Should be under “Ebisugaoka Second Visit,” not Third.
“Corridors: Inari-sama Door + Inventory Upgrade: Embroidered Drawstring Bag” should be after “Ebisugaoka Second Visit: “The Great Space Invasion” Movie Poster 1 (for Ending 5).”
Archavia says
Whilst yes, you can find the first Movie Poster during the second visit, you cannot read all 3 in order until the third visit, which is why I opted to include all 3 during that one visit to make it easier for people.
THES79 says
I got the fourth Omamori upgrade at the beginning of the second playthrough. During my first run the first thing I did was invest everything on the Omamoris ao I could equip three as soon as possible. The when I started NG+ I saw I could have another upgrade so on the first character upgrade you get (the first shoe box) I immediately got the fourth. I’m guessing that you could have a fifth upgrade on NG++ making that run a lot much easier
Luai says
I did my first run on puzzle hard / action story would I still be able to get the remaining endings with two additional run only ?
Jizo says
I wonder the same thing, I did puzzle hard and action story in my first blind playthrough
Jamart08 says
The trick to getting puppet master trophy when fighting Tsukomogami for ending 2 is not to dodge just run a little right as you run towards him all the arrows will miss.
Pavlo says
Hi! I wanted to ask if scales puzzle affect directly on endings? For example – if I follow ending 2 but placed dolls like they need to be placed for ending 3 I will get ending 3?
Pertza says
Will I get the trophies for the Lost in the Fog difficulties if I do the UFO ending?
Gekidami says
No. It doesn’t count as a “real ending”.
