Introduction

Welcome to the Metal Eden Trophy Guide! A fast paced FPS akin to modern Doom games, Metal Eden is a mostly linear experience with the focus on movement and combat. You will need to complete the game on the highest difficulty ‘Brutal’, and collect enough Dust (currency) to upgrade all weapons to their third upgrade. Completing the game on Brutal will take around 10 hours, with another few hours needed to clean up any miscellaneous trophies. The game has no New Game+. Mission Select will remember your loadout from when you played that mission previously, so you cannot bring weapons/upgrades from later missions into earlier missions. This also means that you cannot farm currency for upgrades by replaying missions.

For the various miscellaneous trophies, you cannot make progress by reloading checkpoints. In order to farm them, you will need to restart the mission.

Step 1: Complete the game on Brutal difficulty, collecting Dust to upgrade all weapons

Brutal difficulty will be available immediately, so it is recommended you play it to avoid having to do an extra playthrough. Enemies will be stronger and have faster projectiles on Brutal, but it is manageable due to very lenient checkpoints. The game will be harder in the first few missions due to your limited weapons and lack of upgrades, but as you get all weapons and start upgrading them and your abilities, Brutal will become easier.

You will want to kill all enemies that you find and explore areas a bit to try and find red vials that give you Dust. You will need a total of 160,000 Dust to upgrade all weapons to their third upgrade, and as there is no New Game+, you will need to get enough Dust in one playthrough. There is room to miss some, but it is better to be thorough to ensure you get enough.

There is a Dust farming location early on during the very first mission, which you may want to take advantage of to give yourself a safety net for upgrades. There will be a tutorial on Core Extraction where you will need to extract 3 cores before you can continue. Instead of extracting, simply kill the enemies as they spawn. The small grey enemies will give 15 Dust each, while the taller orange enemies will give 25 Dust each. Unfortunately this is quite slow, but even 5,000 Dust here can go a long way to helping you get enough by the end of the game.

When upgrading weapons, all weapons (except the starting weapon) will have two mods with three upgrades each that can be upgraded. Choose one mod and upgrade it entirely, do NOT try to purchase both upgrades for a single weapon. There will not be enough Dust to reach the third upgrade on all weapons if you get both mods on any weapons.

It’s recommended that you work towards the following various miscellaneous trophies to make cleaning up afterwards easier and faster. Some of these might be a bit annoying to do while playing on Brutal (such as completing encounters without taking any damage), in which case feel free to ignore them and do them afterwards on Easy difficulty.

  • Rip 250 Cores from the enemies
  • Consume 200 Cores
  • Kill 69 enemies with Super Punch
  • Kill at least 3 enemies with a single blow 50 times
  • Kill 80 enemies when Overdrive is activated
  • Kill 100 enemies in Ramball mode
  • Travel 40 000 meters on zip lines
  • Complete 15 encounters without collecting any placed pickups
  • Complete 10 encounters without taking any damage
  • Finish a mission with 5 One Ups

Step 2: Miscellaneous Cleanup

After finishing the game on Brutal, you can either use Mission Selection to play any of the previous chapters on Brutal to work towards miscellaneous trophies, or start a new playthrough on a different Game Slot on Easy difficulty to work towards them.

Metal Eden Trophy Guide

AŚKA
Obtain all trophies
Platinum
Earn all other trophies in Metal Eden to unlock Platinum (no DLC needed).
Rip & Tear
Rip 250 Cores from the enemies
Bronze
Cores can be ripped from enemies by pressing :l1: while you have energy. They can then either be thrown with :l1: or consumed by holding :l1: , which will heal you and allow you to perform a Super Punch.
The Beekeeper
Kill 3 Bumblebees
Gold
Story-related. Cannot be missed.

Bumblebees are powerful enemies that can hover in the air and shoot rockets at you. Despite the name, when you first encounter one in Chapter 6: Heart of it All, their name will show as ISC Judge. There are only 3 in the game, and you will need to fight them in order to progress. One will appear in Chapter 6 and two will appear in Chapter 7.

KILL BOSS!!
Kill Overseer
Gold
Story-related. Cannot be missed.

Overseer is fought at the end of Mission 5: Forbidden Science. Overseer will fly around the arena, so use your bullet weapons like the Zenit SMG to deal damage while avoiding attacks. After enough damage, Overseer will move into the middle and spawn some enemies that will start healing it. During this, the ground will become unsafe so you will want to use the ziplines around the area to move around and kill the healing enemies as quickly as possible. Repeat this a few times until you are able to fully deplete Overseer’s health.

What a mess!
Kill at least 3 enemies with a single blow 50 times
Silver
The best way to make progress towards this is to use the RM3 Grenade Launcher (with all upgrades in the STX sticky grenade mod) on the fodder enemies that will appear together. Whenever you see them, try and leave them alive to see if 3 will spawn, then shoot them when they are grouped together. You can also take advantage of Overdrive powerups to kill groups of stronger enemies.

If you want to grind this out, load up Mission 8: Reconciliation. Play through the level until you reach a room with a Laser Gatling Overdrive powerup on the ground. Ignore it and instead use your RM3 Grenade to kill all the flying robots in this area. Afterwards, ride the zip line immediately afterwards and there will be 3-4 groups of flying robots along the way you can kill together again. With any luck you will get 5-6 towards this trophy each time you play through it, and if you skip everything you can reach this point of the level in about 5 minutes.

KILL BOSS!!!
Kill Nexus
Gold
Story-related. Cannot be missed.

Nexus is fought at the end of Mission 8: Reconciliation. There will be several phases to this fight that are essentially the same with extra enemies and attacks each time. You will need to shoot off the panels on Nexus with a red marker on them, then shoot the white sections to hurt him. Eventually he will pull you into a different area where you have a 2 minute timer to escape. Platform through and return to Nexus, where you will have to repeat the same process. After hurting him enough and escaping a second timed section, after hurting him he will start shooting lasers at you, at this point you want to just keep moving to avoid damage and focus on killing him as quickly as possible.

Dominating!
Kill 80 enemies when Overdrive is activated
Silver
There are two Overdrive pickups that you can pick up in some encounters. One gives you unlimited ammo and massively increased damage, while the other gives you a powerful Laser Gatling gun. Both last for 30 seconds, and there will be plenty throughout the game.
KILL BOSS!
Kill Spiderbot
Bronze
Story-related. Cannot be missed.

Spiderbot is fought at the end of Mission 2: Sand Trap. It will have a large shield, and will try to grab the fodder enemies to restore its shield whenever you lower it. There’s not much to this, use cores for Super Punches to lower the Spiderbot’s shield and unload whatever you can on it while it tries to restore its shield. It will take a couple of phases of this to kill it.

One Punch Aśka
Kill 69 enemies with Super Punch
Gold
Consume a ripped core to enable Super Punch, then use it on weaker enemies to kill them with it.
Keep rollin’, rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Kill 100 enemies in Ramball mode
Bronze
During Mission 2: Sand Trap and Mission 6: Heart of it All, you can transform into Ball Mode by pressing :l3: . While in Ball Mode, you can use a lightning attack with :r2: and homing missiles with :l2: . Kill enemies in this mode whenever you have the chance to work towards this.
Consumer
Consume 200 Cores
Bronze
Cores can be consumed after ripping them out of an enemy by holding :l1: , which will heal you and enable Super Punch.
Impulse 101
Acquire all weapons
Bronze
Story-related. Cannot be missed.

There are 7 weapons in the game, and they are all story-related as you cannot progress without picking them up. You will have all weapons by the end of Mission 4.

  • Hertz AP – starting weapon
  • U9 Supra – Mission 0: Crash Course
  • TAS-9 – Mission 1: Paradise Lost
  • EZN-5 – Mission 2: Sand Trap
  • Zenit SMG – Mission 3: Inherent Deceit
  • RM3 – Mission 3: Inherent Deceit
  • Striga HS-V – Mission 4: The Parasite
Weapons Expert
Unlock third upgrade for all weapons
Silver
In order to upgrade weapons, you must first get enough kills with the weapon. Then you will be able to spend Dust to upgrade them at a store. It will cost 160,000 Dust to get the third upgrade on all seven weapons. You will want to be thorough as you play through the game, making sure to kill all enemies and pick up all red vials you find. There is no New Game+, so you will need to get enough Dust to get all upgrades before the final boss fight. Make sure that you only upgrade one mod for each weapon, as if you try to get both mods you won’t be able to get enough dust. If this doesn’t pop immediately upon getting the third upgrade on all weapons, equip all weapons and it will pop.

  • Hertz AP – 25 kills – 14,500 Dust
  • U9 Supra – 15 kills – 20,500 Dust
  • TAS-9 – 20 kills – 23,500 Dust
  • EZN-5 – 15 kills –  26,000 Dust
  • Zenit SMG – 20 kills – 23,500 Dust
  • RM3 – 10 kills – 26,000 Dust
  • Striga HS-V – 10 kills – 26,000 Dust

Dust Farming Location:

There is a Dust farming location early on during the very first mission, which you may want to take advantage of to give yourself a safety net for upgrades. There will be a tutorial on Core Extraction where you will need to extract 3 cores before you can continue. Instead of extracting, simply kill the enemies as they spawn. The small grey enemies will give 15 Dust each, while the taller orange enemies will give 25 Dust each. Unfortunately this is quite slow, but even 5,000 Dust here can go a long way to helping you get enough by the end of the game.

Hoarder
Collect 100 001 Dust
Bronze
Dust is the currency used to upgrade your weapons. It is acquired both by killing enemies and by picking up red vials. You do not need to hold all of this at once, so feel free to spend it as you get it. As long as you are killing all enemies and collecting all dust vials as you explore, you will get this naturally as you will need 160,000 Dust to upgrade all weapons.

Fly high
Spend 1420 seconds in the air
Bronze
This will come naturally, as jumping, dashing and hovering are key components of traversing and surviving in combat.
Traveler
Travel 40 000 meters on zip lines
Bronze
Throughout the game there are ziplines you will need to use to traverse the missions. You will only travel about half this distance doing one playthrough, but some ziplines you can travel back and forth on. Find one of these and ride it back and forth as long as needed. There is a double zipline right at the beginning of Mission 3: Inherent Deceit.
Design with Architect
Meet Architect
Bronze
Story-related. Cannot be missed.

Complete Mission 7: Cruel Intentions to unlock this.

God Mode
Complete a mission without respawning
Silver
Respawning occurs whenever you die, use a One Up, Load Last Checkpoint or Exit to Main Menu. This is best done on Mission 0: Crash Course on Easy difficulty.
I don’t need it
Complete 15 encounters without collecting any placed pickups
Gold
Encounters are room where you get locked in and have to kill all the waves of enemies before you can continue. These will regularly have pickups around the area, like health, armor, ammo and cores. You can pick up these prior to spawning in the enemies, but once the encounter starts you cannot pick them up. You will likely make progress towards this without even trying, as some encounters are very short and don’t really require picking up items.
Let’s do this!
Complete the Prologue
Bronze
Story-related. Cannot be missed.

Complete Mission 0: Crash Course to unlock this.

Live Long
Finish a mission with 5 One Ups
Bronze
Starting from Mission 1 onwards, you will find One Up pickups, which appear as white helmets. These are often slightly hidden in the areas, but as you will want to be thorough to kill enemies and find dust for weapon upgrades, you will likely find most of these naturally. When you have a One Up, if you die in battle you will immediately revive and be able to continue. For this, you will need to stock up 5 One Ups and finish a mission with them all. Even on Brutal, this is quite manageable towards the end of the game as you will get quite powerful with upgraded weapons and abilities. If you lose a One Up and want to keep it, you can restart checkpoint and try the fight again. There are a total of 35 One Ups throughout the game, so there is plenty of leniency for allowing deaths.

If you are struggling too much to get this on Brutal, you can start a new playthrough on Easy and play through until the end of Mission 2: Sand Trap/

  • Mission 1: Paradise Lost – 2 One Ups
  • Mission 2: Sand Trap – 7 One Ups
  • Mission 3: Inherent Deceit – 5 One Ups
  • Mission 4: The Parasite – 4 One Ups
  • Mission 5: Forbidden Science – 3 One Ups
  • Mission 6: Heart of it All – 3 One Ups
  • Mission 7: Cruel Intentions – 6 One Ups
  • Mission 8: Reconciliation – 5 One Ups
METAL EDEN: Brutal
Complete the game on Brutal
Gold
Brutal is the hardest difficulty available. Enemies will be far stronger with faster projectiles and will be able to kill you very quickly. You will want to constantly be moving to keep enemies away from you. This is harder in the first few missions when you have fewer weapons and upgrades, but as you get further it’ll become more manageable. Fortunately checkpoints are very lenient, so even if you die a few times in an encounter you can jump straight back into it and don’t have to worry about losing progress.

  • Enemy projectile speed is greatly increased
  • Enemies are highly dangerous
  • Enemy damage is maximum
  • Enemies are tougher and harder to kill
  • Resources restore very little
METAL EDEN: Completed

Operate with Operator
Meet Operator
Bronze
Story-related. Cannot be missed.

Complete Mission 3: Inherent Deceit to unlock this.

Untouchable
Complete 10 encounters without taking any damage
Gold
Encounters are rooms where you get locked in and have to kill all the waves of enemies before you can continue. Completing these without taking damage can be quite difficult, as there can be many enemies spawning all around the rooms, often with multiple ranged attacks flying at you. It is recommended that you do this after completing Brutal so you’re more experienced with the game.

Start a new game on Easy difficulty and rush through Mission 0 until you arrive in the first encounter. This is the easiest encounter in the game, with only a few ranged enemies to deal with. Play it cautiously and keep away from enemies, and if you ever get hit (keep an eye on your health/armor), restart checkpoint and try again. Once you complete the encounter, restart the mission and repeat until you’ve completed 10. Don’t bother playing through the rest of the mission, as even though there’s an encounter at the end of the level, it does not count towards this even if you do it without damage.

If you feel more comfortable, you can instead finish the mission and do the first encounter in Mission 1. It is a bit harder due to the new enemies, but it is earlier into the level so won’t take as long to get to each time.

Thank you for the trophy guide. I hope the developers quickly fix the glitched trophies and add New Game Plus (or let us keep Dust/upgrades in Mission Selection) as soon as possible, because it doesn’t make sense for me to play this game in its current state.

The glitched trophies have been fixed already, but sadly still no way of getting dust through mission select. I have added a dust farming location right at the beginning of the game, but it might be a bit of a downer to grind for 30-60 minutes right as you start the game.

I’m glad the developers have already fixed the glitched trophies, but considering a first playthrough of this game can supposedly take about 5 hours, they really need to add New Game Plus to make it worth playing the game again, therefore it would have more replay value, and the Platinum trophy would be easier to earn.

The platinum didn’t unlock for me. I did everything in one playthrough. All the difficulty and last boss stuff popped but the platinum didn’t.

Do all trophies have to be completed in 1 playthrough or some of them transfer to a new game eg punching enemies, consuming cores, zip lining?

I discovered that in mission 6 when you’re fighting the spiderbot, if you leave it alive endless small 15 dust enemies will continually spawn so could also be a grind spot!

I started the game on this difficulty straight away.
After completing it, I didn’t get any trophies, including those for completing it on Easy.
Trophies were broken in version 1.03.

Are the trophies for this game still bugged as of the latest patch? Was thinking about picking it up now that it’s 50% off.

I am not sure about the final version cause I keep track on steam page and its not good.
The devs interfiered and messed up everything, suggest wait for a decent patch but do not get hyped , its been months and its getting worse, btw PS5 version is way more optimized then PC, so there is still hope

I found a great spot to farm in mission 7. When you reach the part of the mission where you need to activate the lift you can farm 4 of the little guys at a time. charge the lift, wipe out all the enemies, but DO NOT grab the overcharge. when you kill off the 4 enemies together with an upgraded grenade launcher shot you’ll get 305 every time.

Platinum is currently unobtainable due the last patch which broke a lot of things, playing on brutal on second missions after killing enemies doors doesn’t open prevent you from continue the mission. Trophy for beating the game on brutal also don’t pop.

I found a method for dust farming by accident, in mission 4, where you go through narrow paths, there will be a dust vial that worth 1000 right after you walk over a wall and jump to it, after you take the vial, go back where you came from to the point where there’s a holographic sign, and then return to the vial spot and you’ll find it again, I don’t know if there’s a guide or a video that shows this method but I thought I’d share it with you guys

Pretty good game and more doom style gameplay. Shame if you plug in a keyboard and a mouse, the aiming doesn’t work. Because with the wonky controller aim it’s twice as hard to beat the game for no reason other than the indie devs very rarely know how to implement controler aim.
