Introduction

Welcome to the Terminator: Resistance Trophy Guide! This is a stealthy hacky FPS developed by Teyon, taking place in the Terminator universe sometime in the future after the first and second movie, ignoring the timeline of the rest of the series. You play as a Resistance Member trying to reach the main Resistance force, working to stop Skynet in the future from wiping out the remnants of humanity. The game plays somewhat like Metro or Wolfenstein, with crafting and skill upgrades that you gain through levelling. For the platinum you only need to finish the game along with doing some random miscellaneous activites. There’s only 1 missable trophy “No Hope”.

Step 1: Play Through the Story, Making Sure to Level Lockpicking to Level 3 Before or During “Back to Pasadena”

For the most part you can play through the game how you want, the only thing you want to do skill wise is leveling up Lockpicking to maximum as soon as possible. You need Level 3 Lockpicking during the main mission “No Hope” to open a door for a misc trophy. If you weren’t levelling this early you’d potentially get into a situation where you’d need to replay the game to redo your levelling.

Step 2: Complete the Rest of the Story

After that you just need to complete the rest of the story, doing the one other side mission required for a trophy. Then otherwise you can complete as little or as much of the side requirements as you wish.

Step 3: Reload Chapter Saves to clean up Trophies

If you didn’t complete all trophies during your playthrough you can now use the individual chapter saves the game makes to clean up anything else you might have missed prior. Aside from “No Hope” all of the miscellaneous requirements can be cleanup up fairly quickly in one or two chapters each.

Terminator: Resistance Trophy Guide

No problemo
Acquire all the trophies.
Earn all other trophies in Terminator: Resistance to unlock Platinum (DLC not required)!
Hasta la vista, baby
Destroy your first T-800.
Story related, cannot be missed.

You’ll earn this trophy early in the game when you first destroy a T-800 Terminator. You first run into these during the main mission “Hospitality”, though you shouldn’t try to fight them there as you can’t damage them with bullet weapons, just sneak past them. In the next mission “Into the Storm” you’ll be engaged by a large number of these enemies after meeting with other Resistance members, and here you will have to destroy a number of these enemies yourself after you’re given a Plasma Rifle.

Note that in “Hospitality” if you hack a turret and it destroys a T-800 this won’t actually award the trophy, you have to destroy one yourself.

It’s a bird…
Destroy a T-800 Flamethrower by shooting it’s fuel tank.
During the main quest “Back to Pasadena” you will first run into T-808 Terminators, which carry around flamethrowers. When one is turned away from you, you should see that it has a large fuel tank on i’s back. Shoot the tank on one of these enemies to earn this trophy.

Hacker
Successfully hack 10 devices.
During the main mission “Hospitality” you will be given a hacking device. This device lets you hack certain Skynet devices such as doors and turrets with a minigame that is similar to Frogger. Hack any 10 devices after this point to earn this trophy.
Helping Hand
Successfully hack a Turret.
During the main mission “Hospitality” you will be given a hacking device. Shortly after you’ll come to an area with a gate you can hack, along with a turret. If you sneak up the side of the room you can get behind this turret and hack it to earn this trophy.
Tinker
Upgrade your weapon.
Story related, cannot be missed.

After completing main quest “Into the Storm” and reaching the South Resistance Shelter you’ll have to speak to Alvin. He explains how you can upgrade Plasma type weapons using the chips you’ve looted off destroyed machines. Modify your given Plasma Rifle in any way and you will earn this trophy.

Turn Up the Radio
Use Ryan’s boombox to annoy Alvin.
To get this trophy you first need to accept the side quest “Radio for Ryan”, which can be obtained during the main quest “Members of the Resistance” (Chapter 15 Save) after you return to the Shelter with Alvin. Go into the workshop room and speak to Ryan, and he asks you to find a new radio for him. Now during the main mission “Hunting Season” you will have the objective marked to find said radio, located in a destroyed shop with music playing from it.

Head upstairs and deal with the two T-800s, then grab the radio off the table.

Now once you have completed this mission and return to the Resistance Shelter over to the workshop room again where Ryan is and the now working radio will be. Interact with it once to turn it on, then again to turn up the volume on it, which will annoy Alvin and pop this trophy.

Researcher
Take at least a ‘good’ photo of an enemy.
After completing main quest “Into the Storm” and reaching the South Resistance Shelter you’ll be provided with an upgrade for your goggles that allows you to take pictures. When you activate it you can now zoom in with the D-Pad and then take pictures using :sq: . When you aim at an enemy you will be shown some info and the rating of what the picture would be, ranging from Terrible to Perfect. Snap one with at least a rating of Good to earn this trophy.

Not a Mission Priority
Complete a side objective.
This trophy is awarded for completing your first side quest in the game.
Easy Money
Successfully open 10 locks.
Lockpicking in this game functions basically the same as most other modern games that have a lockpick mechanic. You need to have at least one lockpick in your inventory, then when you pick a lock you will go into a minigame where you rotation the pick with the left stick, then turn the lock with the right stick. You need to find the sweet spot to open the lock so that it turns all the way. On locks of Easy/Medium/Hard difficulty if you push too long without finding the correct spot you will break one of your lockpicks. Successfully open any 10 locks of any difficulty to earn this trophy.
Handyman
Successfully craft 5 items.
The trophy is awarded for crafting a total of any five items. Crafting is done at a crafting table, found out the hideout or in Safe Houses around the game world. You then use your crafting materials you find during gameplay to craft a number of different items, such as lockpicks, ammo types, or consumable weapons or gadgets that require you updating your crafting level. Crafting also awards XP based on the level and amount of items crafted.  The easiest thing to craft is a lockpick, requiring 2 Metal Scraps per lockpick. You can choose to make 5 of these in one go, which will award this trophy.
Journalist
Find a note.
See trophy “Historian” for 10 note locations.
No Hope
Open the unlockable door in Pasadena.
Missable

During the main quest “Back to Pasadena” (Chapter 11 save) if you head East you will find an area where there is a locked door by itself in the middle of the area with a lockpick rating of Hard. You need to pick this door, even though it doesn’t go anywhere, to earn this trophy.  This is the only trophy that you really need to be watching for, as you need to reach this chapter with a lockpick skill of 3 or are able to upgrade your lockpick skill to that level during this mission before you leave.

Taste of Your Own Medicine
Get an enemy killed by a hacked Turret.
This trophy is earned by having a turret you hack destroy any other type of enemy. You can actually do this almost immediately after getting the hacking device in the same area. After you hack the first door in the room with the single turret you’ll have to move through a room with two turrets. If you sneak around the side behind the one turret you can hack it, and then it will destroy the other turret in the room, earning you this trophy.
Efficient Killer
Kill a Terminator using a Termination Knife.
A Termination Knife is a consumable weapon that you can use to instantly kill a T-800 while in stealth. You can craft them when upgrading your crafting skill to Level 3, or Ryan tells you about them and has two you can take during the main quest “Back to Pasadena”. When you have at least one in your possession you equip it to your weapon wheel then hold it in place of a gun. You can then sneak up behind a T-800 and use :r2: to instantly destroy is and consume the Termination Knife.

Blackout
Destroy a Skynet Outpost.
During the main mission “Back to Pasadena” you will be given two side objectives for “Skynet’s Western Outpost” and “Skynet’s Eastern Outpost”. These are two locations of fortified Skynet structures where you goal is to get inside and hack or destroy the main generator. Complete either of these objectives while you are in this area to earn this trophy. There are also a few more of these in the subsequent missions as well that you can destroy.
Still Counts as One
Destroy the T-47 that occupies Pasadena.
During the main quest “Back to Pasadena” you will be contacted over the radio by Baron and told about a T-47 machine that is in the area. She wants you to take a picture of it with your new goggles for a Side Quest. After you have done so (or not done so if you don’t care to) you need to destroy it. It wanders around in an area just South-West of the Eastern Skynet Outpost you are also asked to deal with. The area it’s in has a number of Plasma Storage canisters in it, and you can use those to damage it. Use any other explosives you have as well, and once you destroy it you will earn this trophy.

Priority to Me!
Complete 5 side objectives.
This trophy is awarded for completing any 5 Side Quests in the game. They are extra activities on top of the main story ones that you can do for extra rewards.

In the “Quests” part of the menu they are listed under the “Side Quests” heading, and on your map they will be marked with the blue “Side Objective” diamonds. Be sure to talk to all NPCs in the main hideout areas and agree to help them when you can so that you gain access to as many side quests as possible.  If you have done all of the prior ones you can earn this during the main mission “Back to Pasadena” when you complete any of the ones that are available in that location.  There are around 20 side missions to complete throughout the game so many more than required for this trophy.

Historian
Find 10 notes.
Notes are the collectibles in Terminator: Resistance that you can find around the game world. Collecting them gives some backstory and a small amount of XP. There are a total of 32 notes throughout the game, so way more than you need to get this trophy. As long as you are searching around each area and completing all side objectives you should be able to find more than enough without issue.

If you want to get this done as soon as possible, these are the locations of 10 notes early in the game that you are able to collect.

Note: See You Later

At the hideout when you return from the hospital, you can find this note on the table in the room with the pool table.

Close call
Escape from Pasadena with other survivors.
Story related, cannot be missed.

This is the first trophy you’ll earn in the game, after going through the initial area. You’ll be given some tutorial on stealth and combat, then at the end choose to either search for more survivors or not. After you’ll repel a few waves of spider and drone robots, then be taken to the hideout.

Contact
Make contact with the imprisoned Resistance Soldiers.
Story related, cannot be missed.

During the main mission “Hospitality” you’ll be heading into a hospital. Inside after you sneak past a number of T-800s you’ll find some soldiers stuck behind a laser grid, earning you this trophy.

Coming Home

Story related, cannot be missed.

During the main mission “Into the Storm” you’ll be heading to meet other Resistance members. You’ll be ambushed by a large number of T-800s, Drones, and Spiders. After you fight through them all with the other Resistance members you’ll head to the South Division Resistance Shelter, where you will earn this trophy.

The Tide Is Turning
Escape Downtown with Alvin.
Story related, cannot be missed.

During the main mission “Members of the Resistance” you’ll be tasked with going to the downtown area and rescuing Alvin. You push through the area with other soldiers, then after you reach Alvin you do a mad dash to the end of the area to escape. Once you do and return to the Resistance Shelter you’ll earn this trophy.

Fool Me Once…
Destroy the Infiltrator.
Story related, cannot be missed.

During the main mission “Hunting Season” you’ll head to the Docks area to set up an ambushed for the T-850, the Infiltrator. Through this level you’ll then chase it around while damaging it, until you get to the final area where you are by yourself and have to take it out. Once it is destroyed you will earn this trophy.

Second Generation
Obtain Skynet security codes from a fallen HK Tank.
Story related, cannot be missed.

During the main mission “The Codes” you’ll be tasked with going and collecting a device, then going and downloading Skynet codes from an HK Tank using that device. When you reach the tank it will still be operational, so you will need to destroy it by shooting it in the back with rockets. After you do you can hack it to download the codes, earning this trophy.

I’ll be Back
Complete the game on any difficulty level.
Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is awarded when you complete the game on any difficulty, once you complete the last main mission “No Hope” and fight your way to the TDE complex.

You’re missing the second note in the game. Even before entering the building to follow the objective during Rules of Survival, there is another garage door you can crouch under in the upper left corner of the map (with resources inside). Crouch and enter the next room and there’s a note called “Stranger Danger”. I believe it is technically the first note you can get in the game.

EDIT: technically the upper right corner when looking at the actual map, sorry (North, North-East). Garage door is next to a white van, to the left of the objective “Enter the building”. You need to crouch inside then crouch again through a duct to get to the side room. More resources inside.

For the trophy you only need 10 notes, there are more than that and it doesn’t matter which you get 🙂
      So this isn’t required.

I beat the game and maxed out lock picking skill so I went back to do clean up trophies, like no hope trophy but sadly to say it put me back at level 2 for skill. This walkthrough wasn’t very useful to me at all !!!

Can no hope be done in chapter select? Have got skill rank three, just missed this door / trophy and left that mission area

No, because you need to be Lockpick rank 3 during that mission to open the door. When you reload the chapter saves it gives you the stats you had for that save when you started the mission the first time. If you reload that save and are able to level Lockpick to 3 before completing the mission then you can do it.

I would personally give one advice. For the No Hope quest, you need to be lockpicking 3 and level 12 (which unlocks lockpicking 3(!)). Now having a point ready is not the hard part but when I got to the mission I was not level12 and I did all the side stuff, killed every enemy and opened most of the stuff available.

So I would highly suggest to drop your first skill point into lockpicking and the next one into the 10% gain or vice versa. Getting the 10% that early should do the deal easily. I did not do that and was only around level 11.5 by the time I reached the mission.

If you are already at Back to Pasadena then it might still be worth to drop a skill point or two into exp perks (after all it ll be your only chance besides playing the whole game again…) and then wipe the whole area, lockpick every stuff, do all the sidequests first and if you just miss a tiny bit you can try crafting as last resort.

Playing this way late, but my suggestion for the no hope trophy is to 1) make sure you do every side quest prior to this mission. You have to do 5 for the trophy anyway. 2) Put your very first point into Learning level 1 to get 10% more XP. Then when you hit level 6 (I think) you can unlock and add to Learning level 2 for 20%. Do that as well. The more XP you earn the closer you will be to level 12 before this mission even starts. I had no problem unlocking Lockpick level 3 and doing this when the mission started this way.

The new Infiltrator Mode now as a new achievement called “Back to the past” which requires you to find all 3 secrets in the infiltrator mode. I have not found them but thought I’d mention it.

I think the lock pick and note trophies are glitching on the PS5 version. I have way over 10 each and no trophies. The activity cards still say 1 of 10. ?
