- Requirement: Unlocked during the ‘Back to their Origin‘ Main Quest after speaking with Jill, and reading the ‘In Search of a Lost Tome’ letter at the Reading Table in Clive’s Chambers.
- Reward: 5600 XP, 30 Renown, Curiosity: Scholar’s Bonnet
- Quest Info: Vivian writes to Clive, asking him to locate a copy of From a Distance, the tome that inspired her to become a scholar.

- Speak with Vivian
- Speak with Harpocrates
- Make for Garnick
- Find From a Distance
- Leave Garnick
- Defeat the Executor’s minions
- Return From a Distance to Vivian
Starting Location: An Inconvenient Truth
Speak with Vivian
After reading the ‘In Search of a Lost Tome’ letter at the Reading Table in Clive’s Chambers, speak with Vivian in the Map Room.
Speak with Harpocrates
Go to the Shelves and speak with Harpocrates
Make for Garnick
Fast travel to the eastern-most fast travel point on the map, Vidargraes on Ash, then head south-west about 300y to Garnick.
Find From a Distance
The house you’re looking for is the one at the very back of the village. The book is on a shelf in the house.
Leave Garnick
Leave the house and head towards the exist of Garnick. You’ll be ambushed.
Defeat the Executor’s minions
Kill the enemies.
Return From a Distance to Vivian
Return to Vivian in the Map Room and hand the book over.
