The Path of the Yari is a sensei tale in Ghost of Yotei. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the The Path of the Yari side quest.

- Quest Info: Sensei Takahashi’s old students are prisoners at the lumberyard east of Horokanai Bluffs. I promised to free them. / Sensei Takahashi’s dojo will need spearheads. There’s a weaponsmith held prisoner at Bold Kaji Forge west of Kakagoya Springs. / Sensei Takahashi claims with enough practice, a new yari technique will come to meat an Altar of Reflection.

Automatically accepted after completing The Way of the Yari.
Liberate Higashi Lumberyard
Once you arrive at Higashi Lumeryard, you’ll need to defeat all of the enemies located inside. There are a lot of enemies, so taking some out stealthily before alerting them is the safest option.
After you defeat the last enemy, you’ll learn about Eijiro the Ruthless who is the leader of the camp. Go to the courtyard of the area and go through the wooden gate to find him. He swaps his weapons a lot, so make sure you swap your weapons accordingly to stagger him faster.
Learn a yari skill
After liberating Higashi Lumberyard, you’ll be placed in front of an Altar of Reflection. Bow to get a skill point and spend it on the Typhoon Sweep skill under the yari category.
If you accidentally spent this skill point on something else, you’ll also get another chance after liberating the Bold Kaji Forge.
Liberate Bold Kaji Forge
Once you arrive at Bold Kaji Forge, you’ll need to defeat all the enemies located inside, as well as free Kotetsu. There are a lot of enemies, so taking some out stealthily before alerting them is the safest option.
Kotesu is located around the center of the area, hammering away at his forge under guard. Once you defeat the guard and free him, the enemies will be alerted and you’ll have to defeat them all.
After liberating Bold Kaji Forge, you’ll be placed in front of an Altar of Reflection. Bow to get a skill point and spend it on the Typhoon Sweep skill under the yari category if you didn’t already do that before. If you missed the chance to do it this time as well, you’ll need to find one of the other Altars of Reflection spread throughout the game.
This finishes The Path of the Yari in Ghost of Yotei.
Afterward, you can do the final Yari tale The Yari’s Fury. If this doesn’t automatically get marked you’ll need to visit Sensei Takahashi’s Dojo in the north-east of Ishikari Plain, in White Deer Woodlands.
