Introduction

Welcome to the Halo Campaign Evolved Trophy Guide! Halo: Campaign Evolved combines classic missions with new bonus content, skull modifiers and the remixed campaign. The remixed campaign randomizes enemies and weapon spawns. The main challenge is beating the game in LASO mode, which is the highest difficulty “Legendary” with 17 negative modifiers from skulls to make it even harder. First you must find all 39 Skulls to unlock LASO mode, then do another playthrough in LASO. Luckily, the difficulty trophies stack and beating LASO automatically unlocks the trophies for Legendary and all other difficulties.

Step 1: Unlock Remixed Campaign [10 Minutes]

To unlock the Remixed Campaign, you need to find 3 Skulls in the first mission (any 3 Skulls will do). Once you have the Skulls, return to the main menu and then start the Remixed version of the campaign in either Solo or Co-Op.

» Halo Campaign Evolved Collectible Guide (39 Skulls & 13 Terminals)

Step 2: Finish Remixed Campaign without Dying + All Collectibles (Skulls, Terminals) [10-15 Hours]

For trophy Mix Master, you must play through the entire story in Remixed Campaign without dying. In Remixed, all enemy spawns and weapons are randomized, so it will be different for every player.

While you are playing the campaign, grab all collectibles (39 Skulls & 13 Terminals) to unlock LASO mode. Refer to the Halo: Campaign Evolved Collectible Guide. If you die, quickly pause the game and close the application. This way, the game will not register your death, and you can continue your run. You can also use the Modifier Exploit to play the Remixed Campaign with beneficial modifiers to make it easier.

Step 3: LASO Playthrough [10-15 Hours]

After finding all 39 Skulls, you will unlock LASO mode. LASO is a challenge where you must play the game on the highest difficulty “Legendary” with 17 specific skulls enabled. These skulls all apply negative effects, making the run extremely challenging. Beating LASO Mode will automatically unlock all difficulty-related trophies, so you won’t need a separate playthrough for the Legendary difficulty trophy.

You can use the Exploit outlined below to make this much easier. In case this gets patched, the next best option would be to do it in Co-Op to have a friend help you. Solo it’s very challenging if doing it legit without exploits.

LASO Modifier Exploit (confirmed with patch 16.754.404 – reportedly no longer works after patch 17.661.002):

There is an exploit that allows you to use helpful modifiers in LASO mode. Go to the Settings menu, then select Gameplay. Go to Modifier Preset and click on Preset 01 Modify Preset 01 and set the following values:

  • Damage Resistance: 2000%
  • Shield Recharge Rate: 200%
  • Damage Modifier: 300%
  • Melee Damage Modifier: 300%
  • Ammo: Bottomless Clip

Save these settings and start the LASO campaign. Complete the first mission, and once you load into the second mission, save and quit the game. Now go back into the settings and turn off the Modifier Preset. Start a Remix campaign on a new save slot, choose the mission “Two Betrayals”, and once the mission starts, turn around and interact with the terminal behind you. This will advance your trophy progress for the LASO requirement. After that, continue your solo campaign in LASO, the modifiers will still be active. Finish the next mission, then again save and quit after completing it, go back to the Remix campaign, interact with the terminal, and push the trophy tracker further. When you have effectively finished LASO and interact with the terminal at the end, you will unlock the trophy.

Step 4: Miscellaneous Cleanup [1 Hour]

If you have any miscellaneous trophies left, you can quickly clean them up through Mission Select.

Mix Master
Complete an entire Remixed Campaign without dying.
To unlock the Remixed Campaign, you need to find 3 skulls in the first mission. Then return to the main menu and start the Remixed version of the Campaign. In Remix, all enemy spawns and weapon pickups are randomized, so each playthrough will feel different.

You need to complete a full Campaign playthrough in this Remixed mode without dying, including the bonus missions. Play on Easy difficulty and finish the campaign without a single death. If you die, quickly pause the game and close the application. This way, the game won’t register your death, and you can continue your run.

The trophy progress is counted chapter by chapter, if you die you can simply replay the chapter where you died, and don’t need to replay the whole game.

You can also use the Modifier Exploit to make this easier.

Bad Gas
Destroy 100 Grunt backpacks.
Grunts are the smaller amphibian-looking enemies with big pods on their back. This will come naturally over time as you play through the campaign, in remixed mode their spawns are entirely random.
Plate Tectonics
Break off 25 Hunter backplates.
Hunters are the big armored enemies with a metal shield in their left hand and a cannon in their right hand. Destroy the plates on their back. This will come naturally over time as you play through the campaign, in the remixed mode their spawns are entirely random.
New Whip
Hijack 10 Vehicles.
Hijack any 10 Vehicles. This will come naturally over time as you play through the campaign.
Disarmed
Dismember 100 Flood parts.
Floods are the small alien-looking crawlers that infect dead enemies. Let them infect enemies, then shoot off their body parts. Repeat for a total of 100 body parts. This will come naturally over time as you play through the campaign, in remixed mode their spawns are entirely random.
Claims Adjuster
Break off 50 Vehicle parts.
Break off 50 Vehicle parts. This will come naturally over time as you play through the campaign.
Make Them Count
Kill 100 enemies with headshots.
Kill any 100 enemies with headshots. This will come naturally over time as you play through the campaign, just aim for the head.
Hot Streak
With the Floor Is Lava Skull activated beat a mission without jumping or dying.
See trophy Map Quest as this is best combined with other trophies.
Even Tempered
With the Temperamental Skull activated beat Halo without upsetting anyone.
You must complete the mission “Halo” with the Temperamental Skull enabled. Make sure you do not shoot any NPC allies during the mission, otherwise you will not earn the trophy.
Like Old Times
Complete Two Betrayals with the Speed Limit, Endurance Spec, Hip Fire, and Armistice Skulls enabled.
You must complete the mission “Two Betrayals” with the Speed Limit, Endurance Spec, Hip Fire and Armistice skulls enabled. Play the mission on Easy difficulty and simply finish it from start to end with all of these skulls turned on.
Frugal Fire
Equip Famine, Recession, and Johnny Ammo Tree Skulls and beat a mission without running out of ammo.
See trophy Map Quest as this is best combined with other trophies.
MYTHIC
Complete the Campaign with LASO enabled.
Note: Finishing LASO Mode also unlocks all difficulty-related trophies for finishing the game on Legendary, Heroic, Normal difficulty. So you don’t need to do extra playthroughs for the difficulty trophies.

For this you must complete the entire Halo campaign in LASO mode, including all bonus missions. LASO mode becomes available once you have found all Skulls in the game. This also means it’s not available from the start, you need to do 1 playthrough first and find all Skulls.

LASO mode is a challenge where you must play the game on the highest difficulty “Legendary” with 17 specific skulls enabled. These skulls all apply negative effects, making the run extremely challenging. Luckily, there is an Exploit to make this easier.

LASO Modifier Exploit (confirmed with patch 16.754.404 – reportedly no longer works after patch 17.661.002)

There is an exploit that allows you to use modifiers in LASO mode.

Start a Remix campaign on a new save slot. Choose the mission Two Betrayals and, once the mission starts, turn around and interact with the terminal behind you. This will advance your trophy progress for the LASO requirement. After that, you can continue your solo campaign in LASO. As you will notice, the modifiers are still active. Finish the next mission, then once again save and quit after completing it, and go back to the Remix campaign to interact with the terminal to push the trophy tracker further. When you have effectively finished LASO and interact with the terminal at the end, you will unlock the trophy.

Doing it without Exploits:

If the Exploit gets patched, the simplest way is to complete the campaign in Co-Op, as this makes things more manageable. Doing it solo without exploits is extremely challenging and there are no “easy” tips.

LASO Skulls:

The following 17 Skulls are automatically enabled on LASO.

  1. Iron – Dying in Co-Op resets you to your last checkpoint, dying while solo restarts the level
  2. Black Eye – Your shields will only recharge when you melee enemies
  3. Fog – Motion Tracker is disabled
  4. Mythic – Enemies have increased health
  5. Thunderstorm – Upgrades the rank of most enemies
  6. Famine – Weapons dropped by enemies contain half the ammo
  7. Grunt Birthday Party – Grunt headshots produce legendary celebrations
  8. IWHBYD – It would have been your dialogue
  9. Boom – Explosion radius is increased by 2x
  10. Malfunction – Upon respawn a random element of your HUD no longer appears
  11. Grunt Funeral – Grunts die in a blaze of plasma
  12. Eye Patch – All auto-aim is disabled for all weapons
  13. That’s Just… Wrong – Enemies have increased awareness of the player
  14. Speed Limit – Take your time, enjoy the sights! Disables sprint
  15. Pop – Shooting Flood in their weak point causes them to explode
  16. Johnny Ammo Seed – When reloading you lose the ammo remaining in the discarded clip
  17. Temperamental – Allies will attack the player more quickly if the player kills a friendly
This is My Ship Now
Eliminate Captain Keyes and trap his six avenging Marines in the Autumn’s observation pen.
You must kill Captain Keyes in the first mission. Captain Keyes is located on the Autumn’s observation pen. Simply shoot and kill him.

After you kill Captain Keyes, six Marines will appear. To unlock the trophy, you must push all six Marines down the ladder. Use melee attacks to hit the Marines toward the ladder and shove each one down. The trophy can be a bit annoying, but on Easy difficulty it’s not too bad. Once all six Marines are down the ladder, you will earn the trophy.

Map Quest
Complete The Silent Cartographer without shooting, using grenades, melee, dying, or restarting.
This is best combined with trophy Hot Streak and trophy Frugal Fire in a single run. First, it is important that you don’t jump at all during the mission because of the Hot Streak trophy requirement. In addition, you must not fire any shots, throw any grenades, or kill any enemies with melee attacks!

After you spawn, run to the left side and follow the beach. Make sure you run over all the small rocks so that your health does not get drained.

After a short while, you will see a vehicle that you need to use for the mission, located near the beach. Once you reach it, get in the vehicle.

Since you are not allowed to kill any enemies yourself, you will now use a little trick. Drive the vehicle back to the spawn area and pick up two NPC allies who will get into the vehicle with you.

Now you can finish the mission together with the NPCs. While the NPCs are in your vehicle, they will shoot and kill all enemies, which makes things much easier. You are also allowed to run over enemies with the vehicle, as this does not void the trophies. Just make sure you stay in the vehicle whenever possible. As soon as you enter buildings, try to drive the vehicle inside so the NPCs can kill any enemies that might block your path.

Once you have to complete the main objective, things get a bit tricky. If possible, pick up an Overshield and only activate it when you are about to die. Inside the buildings, try to stick to the edges of the rooms. Stairs and small ramps do not count as regular ground, so your health will not drain there. Try to move through the area as quickly as possible to minimize the risk of taking damage.

That’s My Ride
On Assault on the Control Room get to the Banshee before the Elite.
In the mission “Assault on the Control Room”, you must reach the Banshee before an Elite can use it. The trophy is fairly simple: once you exit through the door and are prompted to use a Banshee, just sprint straight to it and get in. If you play on Easy difficulty, the enemies will also go down quickly if you decide to shoot them instead of ignoring them. If you do it via Chapter select, choose Rally Point Echo.

Arm’s Length
On 343 Guilty Spark complete the first floor without taking a hit.
In the mission “343 Guilty Spark”, you must complete the first floor without taking a single hit. The trophy challenge starts when you go down with the elevator and ends when you reach the second elevator. It’s best to play on Easy difficulty so you can take out enemies quickly.

Important: you are not allowed to get hit even once. You can tell if you have been hit when a red damage indicator appears next to your weapon’s crosshair, as seen in the image below:

If you take damage, you can reload the last checkpoint. However, make sure the game has not saved at the moment you took damage. If it did, you will have to restart the entire mission.

Clean Lap
On The Maw complete the warthog run without being forcibly ejected from your vehicle.
In mission “The Maw”, you aren’t allowed to fall off your vehicle from the Rally Point Charlie checkpoint onwards. Play the mission on Easy difficulty, as you have 8 minutes to complete it, and it’s better to drive a bit slower rather than too fast. Take corners at low speed and avoid driving over bumps at full throttle. If you drive carefully and slowly, this trophy will be yours.

Tip: Go to Settings -> Controller and change the Warthog Control to “Aim Based”. This makes driving a lot easier.

Jiralhanae Conservationist
On The Most Dangerous Game don’t kill any rampaging Brutes.
In mission “The Most Dangerous Game”, you must complete the entire mission without killing or damaging any Brutes. Brutes are the enemies with a red glowing point on their chest.

You can play on Easy difficulty and let your NPC allies kill the Brutes for you. If Brutes are standing among large groups of enemies, hold back and allow the NPCs to handle the fight and take out the enemies.

Food Critic
Listen to the Thirsty Grunt talk about his eating habits.
This takes place in mission “The Maw”. It is important to start from the Rally Point Charlie checkpoint. Play through the mission until you reach the bridge.

From the bridge, keep driving until you reach the quest marker that indicates the objective is about 750m away. Once you are at that distance, you will see a tunnel on the right-hand side.

Enter this tunnel and keep to the right again to reach the Grunt. Listen to his dialogue to unlock the trophy.

All Shield, No Yield
Complete any level on Heroic difficulty or higher without taking health damage.
You must complete a level on Heroic difficulty or higher without taking any health damage, but you are allowed to take shield damage. The easiest way to earn this trophy is by playing the first mission “The Pillar of Autumn”. In this level, the enemy count and enemy density are still fairly low, making it more manageable.

Try to stay towards the back while your NPC allies engage the enemies up front. Always make use of your grenades by throwing them into groups of enemies. Keep in mind that Elite enemies can one-shot you, and the same goes for grenades. If you die at any point, simply reloading the last checkpoint is not enough. You must restart and replay the entire mission from the beginning. Always keep an eye on your shield. If it gets low, take cover, fall back, and wait for your shield to regenerate.

With the modifiers, could you just turn them on and complete the game on legendary and pop that trophy? I’m saving LASO with some friends but I still want to do a solo legendary run.

Pre-patch I’d strongly recommend doing a 100% run on Easy in Step 1, LASO Step 2, Remix Step 3. If they patch it, Remix will be a checkpoint reloading exercise, whereas LASO will be absolute hell. I’m about to start LASO tonight and I’m staying up until it’s done.

Also worth noting for more objectives of getting to point X (i.e. non “clear the enemy threat” objectives) you can essentially run your way through all encounters.

How likely is the exploit to be patched? Given that it’s part of the accessibility settings, I’m guessing they may not.

It’s not patched. They are not designed to work, but they update with a workaround. The site glitch still works. Do it NOW. They’ll probably patch it very soon, but expect you have the weekend at this point. Takes 6-7 hours.

So, correct me if I’m wrong:

    – the Exploit also works in the Remix campaign
    – I could get all the Achievements on Xbox and get an insta-Platinum on PS5

Weirdly, I did the LASO playthrough and followed the exploit instructions, the difficulty trophy’s popped, but the Mythic progress is at 76%

Going to do another run to see if it changes but I’m wondering if LASO needs the bonus missions too

@Sean I had the exact same outcome as you. Did you resolve your issue and how? I have a theory I’m going to test. Originally I did the Remix part of the exploit on Legendary. This time I will choose LASO Remix when doing the exploit. TBD

@Sean. I can now confirm you need to complete the bonus missions on LASO also. That resolved my issue. Each mission is 8% completion. Hence why we were stuck at 76%. Good luck in your trophy hunting.

Two additions that might make it easier / is good to know.

For ‘Mix Master’ the not dying aspect is tracked by level. It’s not required to do it in one go. In case of a death it’s OK to go back to the main menu and start a new remix of that level. (Doing a level restart from within the mission is not counting.) Or in case of shutting down the game and the trophy not unlocking just replay mission where the console was shut down. So it’s a good idea to keep manual tracking of levels without a death.

For ‘Jiralhanae Conservationist’ the screenshot is showing the brute in normal state. Shooting the red part triggers the rampage of the brute (they ‘glow red’ and start charging / running around). The player is not allowed to kill them in this ‘glowing’ state. As long as they are looking like in the screenshot it’s OK to kill them (like with headshots or 1 hit kill weapons, like the energy sword).

For ‘Mix Master’ I believe you can just pause the game when you’re about to die or the death animation is starting and just hit restart checkpoint. It’s how I’ve managed to avoid restarting the whole level when I’ve “died” during LASO.

Okay i started the game up online, started silent cartographer, picked up the Skull (Bandana) and the plundered trophy unlocked.

I then switched to offline and picked up the next skull (Acrophobia) and the tracker went up. My theory at the moment is that if you launch the game while offline it delays the trophy tracker.

However, if you start the game online and then switch offline, the tracker works. Happy for anyone to prove or disprove this!

I got the Mythic trophy yesterday using the LASO exploit so it still has not been patched, and I also did not encounter any problems with Johnson or Keyes turning against me when they or any Marines got damaged by exploding Grunts. I had heard that was a problem for some on LASO. For the Jiralhanae Conservationist trophy, I have not unlocked it yet but have done two playthroughs of The Most Dangerous Game mission trying to unlock it and I’ve come to the conclusion that you cannot damage or kill ANY Brutes at all. Play on Easy and let the Marines and Johnson kill every Brute. I made sure no Brutes went into rampage status, and killed them quickly with melee and the trophy never popped for me.

Issue is you MUST be online for the first game bootup. It will force you to update the game to log in and be able to start the game at all.

Just to clarify with the LASO Modifier Exploit. Are you always going back to “Two Betrayals” in Remixed every time you complete a mission in LASO? If you wanted to do the exploit for Remixed, would it be starting a Remixed campaign and then just going back to Two Betrayals after each mission in Campaign?

Thanks for the reply PP. So after the very first boot up online (and update) could you then disconnect to avoid future updates / patches and just play offline…or does it always require an online handshake every time you boot up?

I haven’t started my platinum journey yet, personally, but I installed the game, disabled automatic updates, and logged in. Afterwards, I went offline and was able to start the game in offline mode. It didn’t seem to restrict me from being able to play in offline mode after that first online boot up + update.

For the trophy ‘Jiralhanae Conservationist’ you CAN damage the brutes. You just CAN’T damage them after they become enraged which is when you shoot that orb thing on it’s chest.

I just used the Needle rifle which you can pick up from a sniper later on. I targeted the head mainly, but you can shoot them in the legs or back as well.

Is there a way to do an exploit offline?
Because I’ve just started a gem online, then go offline, took first skull and trophy didn’t pop.
Can you confirm that remix, LASO and skull statistics counts offline?

“For trophy Mix Master, you must play through the entire story in Remixed Campaign without dying”

Not the case; the trophy progression is counted if you complete it by each chapter, meaning if the character dies, they can simply retry that chapter. Make this fact clear in the guide.

You can also just hit the restart checkpoint in the pause menu when you’re about to die or during the death animation.

@GregothTheDoth I can confirm that “restarting checkpoint” DOES NOT work to avoid a death, at least if you’re already in the death animation. After finishing a mission using this method, the tracker did not progress forward.

However, if you’re about to die or you’re in the death animation, you can Save and Quit from the pause menu and then Continue your playthrough from the main menu, and this does not void the no-death run. After finishing a mission using this method, the tracker progressed forward.

apparently for Arms Length you can equip Bandana and just spam grenades.

If you mess up the no death run on remix don’t panic, it counts progress per mission. I’ve been going back via chapter select to do no death runs on the missions I failed on and it counts

“Achievement progress will no longer be awarded incorrectly when using restricted Skulls or difficulty modifiers.”

Since the update doesn’t work anymore, does anyone know if reverting to 1.0, staying offline, doing it the exploited method, updating and then reconnecting to the internet will pop the trophy?

I noticed it happened when I beat the game offline, didn’t get the trophy, reconnected to the internet and “resumed solo campaign”(which just kicked it back to the menu cause it saved after the credits) it awarded the appropriate trophies

I can’t even launch the game without updating. I disconnected my internet, launched the game, yet it somehow knew there was an update and requires update to start the game.

Is there any workaround to this? I do NOT want to update my game until I’ve got that LASO done.
