Onimusha Way of the Sword contains 23 Genma Note locations. Finding all Genma Notes unlocks the Genma-ologist trophy & achievement.
They are the only collectibles that won’t be marked naturally on the map. You can still free-roam and find all collectibles up until the Point of No Return before the final mission “The Clash At Rendaino”. If you keep a manual save from this point, then you can still clean up everything from there.

Genma Note #1 – Hitotsume Gasa
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power West of the Higashioji Street Spirit Mirror:
Genma Note #2 – Kubi Akari
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power South of the Kamo River – East Spirit Mirror:
Genma Note #3 – Togemaru
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in a courtyard West of Yorimasa’s Monument in Kyoto:

Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in a house North of the Gojo Street – West Spirit Mirror.
Genma Note #5 – Kogashira
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in the Underground Laboratory on Underground Level 3 near the Grand Theater Spirit Mirror.
Genma Note #6 – Oboro Garasu
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in Mount Oe in the Valley. Instead of going across the bridge head down and use your wall run to get to the platform with this Genma Note.
Genma Note #7 – Mohja
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in the Temple area of Arashiyama South of the Mountain Trail just through the gate you have to open with explosives.

Located in the Underground Laboratory on Underground Level 2 using Oni Power to reveal the chest.
Genma Note #9 – Hirehime
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in Mount Oe in the Valley. The chest is on the lower level near the water.
Genma Note #10 – Hitotsume Sho
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in Kiyomizu-dera Temple in the dojo in the Northmost part of the map:

Located in a chest revealed by Oni Power on a rooftop just North of the Kiyomizu-zaka Slope Spirit Mirror.
Genma Note #12 – Dohatsu-ten
Located in a chest revealed by Oni Power in the opening you first fight Dohatsu-ten East of the Gojo Street – East Spirit Mirror.
Genma Note #13 – Nue
Located in the arena you fought your first Nue in, North of the Nue Pond Spirit Mirror.
Genma Note #14 – Daidara
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in the courtyard just North of the Shrine Grounds Spirit Mirror in the Oni Refuge.
Genma Note #15 – Shuten Doji
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power outside the building you fought him in. The building is to the East of the Mountain Trail Spirit Mirror in mount Oe.
Genma Note #16 – Rasho Gan
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in the courtyard right next to the Higashioji Street Spirit Mirror where you fought Rasho-gan.
Genma Note #17 – Sasaki Ganryu
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in the Oni Refuge in Kiomizu-dera Temple, the room you fought Sasaki Ganryu.

Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power on the Bridge in Kyoto where you fought Benkei the first time.
Genma Note #19 – Greater Nue
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in the arena you first fought Greater Nue in just North of the Oikeniwa Pond Garden Spirit Mirror.
Genma Note #20 – Dokyo
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power just past the Hozukyo Gorge in Arashiyama where you fought Dokyo for the first time.
Genma Note #21 – Ifuu
Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in the opening you first fight Ifuu in Kyoto.

Found in a chest revealed when using Oni Power in the opening you first fight Burai in Kyoto.

Found during the final mission after Point of No Return.
