Sword of the Sea has 163 collectibles that are required for trophies/achievements. Each collectible type has its own cumulative trophy or individual trophy for rideable animals and frogs.
None of the collectibles are missable and progress saves between playthroughs. You can collect any missed collectibles in New Game+ or Chapter Select after your first playthrough, with the exception of Water Points. Water Points have a gameplay aspect in each level and are reset each time you play through a chapter, so if you don’t earn the trophy for fully restoring water to a location during a chapter, you need to collect all of them in that chapter again to earn the trophy/achievement.
You can see your total number of secret shells collected in the pause menu, but Chapter Select doesn’t keep track of how many per level you have collected.
Collectibles are required for the following trophies:
- 50 Secret Shells – Water Whisperer
- Each level with Secret Shells includes an individual bronze trophy/achievement for finding all shells in that level
- 23 Stele – Wisdom of the Ancients
- 7 Rideable Animals
- Each rideable animal awards an individual bronze trophy/achievement
- 5 Frogs
- Each frog awards an individual bronze trophy/achievement
- 4 Trick Attack Areas – Trick Attack Seeker
/ Trick Attack Expert - 74 Water Points
- Activating all water points in one playthrough of a level awards an individual bronze trophy/achievement.
Collectibles are generally listed in the order they can be obtained. Secret Shells will typically be left until after restoring the water in the area they are in, as collecting them is easier after restoring water.
