)Introduction
Welcome to the Alan Wake 2 DLC #2: The Lake House Trophy Guide! A short DLC exploring The Lake House that was previously inaccessible at Cauldron Lake, you will need to collect all documents and unlock all computers. There are a few miscellaneous and combat trophies, but everything can be done on the easiest difficulty.
Step 1: Complete the DLC, find all Collectibles
Play through the DLC on any difficulty and collect all documents and unlock all computers. There are also some miscellaneous trophies, all of these are covered in The Lake House All Collectible Locations.
There are a few combat-related trophies, for these it is best to make a manual save when you arrive on ‘Sublevel 4: Research Archives’, as everything you need for these trophies can be done here. You will need to:
- Stun a Painted enemy with a Flashbang
- Defeat a Painted enemy before it leaves the wall
- Defeat one of each enemy in the Lake House with the Black Rock Launcher
Once you go down to ‘Sublevel 5: Threshold Experimentation’ you will reach a Point of No Return, so if there’s anything you’re still missing you can go back through the previous Sublevels to get what you need before you finish the DLC.
Step 2: Cleanup
If you missed any collectibles or miscellaneous/combat trophies, either start a new playthrough or load a manual save to get what you missed.

Painted enemies are the new enemy type in The Lake House. These will spawn out of painted walls, most notably in Sublevel 1: Painting Production and Sublevel 4: Research Archives. You will need to throw a Flashbang at one of these for the trophy, which you can find by searching any of the ammo crates throughout the DLC. These are marked as boxes on your map when you find them. |

In order to get this trophy you must be playing on Quality Mode! To change this, go to Options > Graphics > Game Mode > Quality. If you are on Performance mode, the trophy won’t pop. Once you get Security Clearance Keycard 03, go to Sublevel 2: Holding & Observation and unlock the Subject Observation room. Go inside and watch the projector all the way through. Interact with the various drawings on the floor in the office and a light switch will appear in the middle of the room. Pull it three times and you’ll be transported to Oceanview Motel. | Story-related, cannot be missed. Once you go down to Sublevel 5: Threshold Experimentation, you will have a boss fight. There isn’t much to this fight, use your Pistol and Shotgun on the boss and save the Black Rock Launcher for Painted enemies if they spawn. After the boss is defeated, pull the lever to complete the DLC. | ||

If you’re playing on PC you have to limit the FPS to 30 to get the Shape of a man achievement

Can confirm it is possible to get “Pull the Painting Out” on sub-level 4 but I would just recommend people do it on sub-level 1 right after getting the Blackrock Launcher.
The enemies on sub-level 4 tend to work off proximity and they seem to randomly spawn so it’s much harder to get this trophy on that part.

After the latest patch the glitched trophy is fine now. At least it was for me.

Can confirm that Shape Of A Man is no longer glitched on Performance mode and can be unlocked.

I would recommend getting the “Pull The Painting Out” trophy on Level 3. There is only one spot that Painted appear on this level, and it is just outside of the elevator when you arrive. Coming back here with the Black Rock Launcher weapon makes it a very easy kill, just pull the weapon and begin charging as you approach. You can unleash it the moment you see the Painted enemy start to emerge and bag the trophy very predictably. Also, since there is only one enemy, you don’t have to worry about others sneaking up on you while you are working on this.
