Days Gone How to Get Ammo

April 26, 2019 by PowerPyx 2 Comments

Here are all the ways how to get ammo in Days Gone:

  • Looted from the Trunk of Police Cars
  • From small ammo boxes found in the world (mostly during missions, sometimes at Nero Checkpoints)
  • From dropped enemy weapons (if an enemy has the same weapon as you, walk over it to get some ammo)
  • Bought from Merchants at Camps (costs money)

Best Method to Get Ammo Quickly & For Free: The best option in the early game is to loot it from Police Cars. They are found frequently throughout the world. Open the Trunk and you’ll find an ammo box. It refills some ammo for your equipped weapons. These also respawn after a while. This is free and gives a good amount of ammo. In the early game buying it from merchants is too expensive as it’s better to put the money in bike upgrades and new weapons. Do note that police cars with their trunk already open won’t contain ammo.

I was just playing earlier, found a police SUV with it’s back gate open, checked it just for giggles and suprise, there was ammo. It is a buggy game so maybe it was just the engine worrying about something else instead checking if an open trunk had ammo.

It’s also possible they made some changes to this with patches. This info is based on version 1.00.
