God of War Ragnarok All Runic Attack Locations

In God of War Ragnarok, you can find and unlock Runic Attacks – types of special moves. This guide lists all of them and their locations where they are found. Runic Attacks are the most powerful moves in the game but have a cooldown period.

By putting more points in your “Cooldown” stat you can lower the time it takes for such a move to recharge. By increasing your “Runic” stat you can further increase the damage output. You can switch between all weapons and use all their Runic attacks in a row, they have separate cooldowns. This is a good way to deal huge damage in a short amount of time.

Most runic attacks are found from Legendary Chests or dropped by bosses. A few are bought at the shop, but those can also be Located in Legendary Chests. If you forget to pick up a boss drop you can find it later in the blue chest at the blacksmith, so nothing is missable.

You will get all of them on your way to 100% Completion (see Collectible Guide), except the one from the Wishing Well, which requires you to toss yellow crystals into a well repeatedly until you get it as a reward. None of the Runic Attacks are missable. You can still get all of them after the story in free roam. There are two in a story section of Helheim you can’t go back to, but they will be placed in the blacksmith’s shop afterward for purchase if you missed them (under “Special Items”).

#21 – Mountain Splitter
Reward from Favor: Spirit of Rebellion.

#22 – Thrust of a Thousand Soldiers
Found in a Legendary Chest in Helheim during Main Quest: Reunion. You can’t go back there but if you missed it, you can buy it later at any point from the Blacksmith’s Shop > Special Items > Runic Abilities for 2500 Hacksilver.

#23 – Whisper of the World
Located in a Legendary Chest in Vanaheim – The Jungle.

#24 – Huldra Charge
Automatic story reward, dropped by a “Fierce Ogre” enemy during Main Quest 10: Forging Destiny. If you didn’t pick it up, you can find it in the blue chest at the Blacksmith afterward.
