Calium is an Exotic element, commodity and crafting material in No Man’s Sky. First and foremost it is used for trading to make some money. On calium rich planets you can stack up on this substance and sell it at the nearest space station for a lot of cash. Some high-end blueprints also use exotic materials for crafting.
Rarity: Very Rare
Locations:
- Does not exist on every planet. Some planets have blob-like species on them (see screenshots below). They are similar to plants and stay in one place. But they come it lots of shapes and sizes. When using the Multi-Tool’s scanner they will be marked with a purple symbol. When you see a purple symbol pop up, it’s an exotic material. Check it out to see if it’s calium.
- Planets with extreme weather conditions (patch 1.03 and above) have a much higher chance of finding exotic elements. I found it on a planet with extreme radiation.
