Days Gone Driven to Extinction Walkthrough

Driven to Extinction is a Main Story Mission in Days Gone. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the “Driven to Extinction” Main Quest.

Driven to Extinction Starting Location

This mission will start immediately after your ride with Captain Kouri. This mission starts in Lake Crater.

Search the Cabin

Deacon wants to investigate the reason that led to Vasquez’s death. Start by making your way to the cabin opposite you.

In the cabin, investigate the bag on the bed and don’t forget to pick up loot. There’s some scrap and kerosene here, useful for explosive throwables.

Track the AWOL Militia Soldier

After investigating the cabin, exit from the back door and continue down the slope to find some cut barb wire.

Continue on straight to find some bootprints. Hold to investigate one more time.

Keep going straight ahead and you’ll find some recently fired shell casings to investigate.

Clear the Wolves

As you investigate, you’ll find a pack of wolves on your path. Clear them out with a gun and don’t forget to skin them for some meat. Remember, animals’ meat can be sold in exchange for camp Credits and Trust. After killing the first wolf, Trust for the Diamond Lake encampment will reach level 1.

Examine the Elk Carcass

Move on by examining the elk carcass lying nearby to continue your investigation.

Track the AWOL Militia Soldier

Keep following the path and you’ll come across a new item to investigate, a backpack. Investigate it to continue until you reach the end of the path. At the top you’ll come across with a Horde, but it’s your lucky day. No Judgment Day for now, phew!

Follow Captain Kouri

Use stealth to walk up the slop around the Horde. You can either lead the way or follow the Captain. The path to take is obvious though. Just don’t engage!

Keep walking while crouching until you get to a truck with some road tracks nearby. Sherlock Deacon decides to investigate one more time.

Track the AWOL Militia Soldier

Continue up the slope, following the white dots on your mini map.

Sneak to the Abandoned Lumber Mill

At the top of the hill you’ll see a locomotive near an abandoned lumber mill. You’ll have to sneak in to investigate the ruckus. Keep going straight until you reach your new mission marker.

A new cutscene plays out. Captain Kouri radios in for some back-up, while Deacon can’t stand seeing an innocent, unarmed girl being threatened to death. Captain Kouri orders Deacon to stand down and wait for back-up, but our sensible hero intelligently defies his orders and decides to interpose himself.

This concludes Driven to Extinction mission in Days Gone and transitions seamlessly into “Don’t Give Me Orders” after the cutscene with Captain Kouri.
