Afraid of a Little Competition? is a Main Story Mission in Days Gone. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the “Afraid of a Little Competition?” Main Quest.
Storyline: I’m Never Giving Up
Objectives:
- Collect Bag of Silicate
- Return Silicate to Sarah
Afraid of a Little Competition? Starting Location
This mission will become available after Deacon returns the yeast to Sarah. Once again Sarah wants us to go “grocery shopping” for her. This mission starts in Lake Crater.
Collect Bag of Silicate
Ride to the investigation area or if you have enough fuel fast-travel to the Spruce Lake Ambush Camp if you’ve already freed it of Marauders. Once you are arrive at the investigation area, enter the building and get rid of Newts. The bag of silicate sits on a shelf in the main room of the building.
Return Silicate to Sarah
Leave the building by pushing the car out of the way and ride or fast-travel back to camp. Return to Sarah’s tent who seems to be having a falling-out with Weaver. Another animated discussion between Sarah and Deacon follows. Another requisition form.
This concludes Afraid of a Little Competition? mission in Days Gone and unlocks the mission “I Tried to Hit That Once”.

Solution to fixing problem:
Go into saved data management and delete the files until your at the start of the mission or a mission before if u manage to lose all data your can get it back by downloading it but after that continue to do the mission it should work.

Had the same issue. I just loaded a previous save from the games menu and thankfully it worked.
I don’t know if you all did the same thing or not but the run where I had the issue, I rescued Taylor before finishing Sarah’s quest.
The second run, I finished Sarah’s quest before rescuing Taylor. I don’t know if that causes the bug or not, just stating what I did.

SOLVED:
Had the same issue. Game wouldn’t let me pause or quicksave next to the bike.
I had to close out the application and restart the game. It took me back to the maurader camp that was earlier in the mission. Went through everything again and it worked just fine.

No, I’m going to attempt a load from a saved game 5 days ago!!!! All my autosaves are with this glitch! This is the best game I have ever played and now feel the experience is a little tarnished!

Help me I can’t open the door to Sarah for the next mission plus, I can’t go back as it’s to fair gone with the saved games to repeat the mission, don’t know what else to do I’m stuck

I went back the five days! When I got to the mission I did it and went straight back to the tent! All worked fine and have progressed but like I said, had to go back quite far!

Same issue here went back with the same bug still in effect, you can’t just reload the game. This shit is irritating.
