This Could Be It is a Main Story Mission in Days Gone. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the “This Could Be It” Main Quest.
Objectives:
- Find Sarah’s Test Subject
- Tranqulize Sarah’s Test Subject
- Collect Sarah’s Test Subject
This Could Be It Starting Location
This mission will start after the end of I Don’t Wanna Hang. This mission starts in Lake Crater. To start it go to Sarah’s tent. For this mission Sarah wants you to find a test subject for her laboratory research. Make sure that you have plenty of ammo and explosives at your disposal before this mission begins. We’re going to need lots of it for the mission that immediately starts after this one. I highly recommend buying the Chicago Chopper, a primary weapon that, at least in the Easy Difficulty, kills Swarmers in one shot. For that you need Trust Level 2 at Wizard Lake Camp, something you should already have if you’ve played all available quests up until this point.
Find Sarah’s Test Subject
Ride to your new location. As you do, you’ll receive a call from Captain Kouri informing you that they’re ready to test Weaver’s new napalm weapon in the field.
Tranqulize Sarah’s Test Subject
Sarah needs a Newt, and not just any one. She needs a girl, wearing a red t-shirt. Approach your location and equip the tranquilizer from your Weapon Wheel. You have 5 shots, so make them count.
Now, Newts are pretty skittish and like to constantly move and jump around, so it might be hard to track her. Also, try not to use any weapon, otherwise they’ll attack you and it’ll be hard to tranquilize the one you need. Remember, unless attacked, Newts are harmless. My target was personally on the left side of the house, outside. Once you find her, a red and yellow icon will pop above her head, cueing you that you’ve found your target.
Collect Sarah’s Test Subject
When the girl is down, you need to first get rid of any surrounding Newt in the area before you’ll be able to pick her up and bring her back with you to camp. Now use any weapon you want to bring the rest of them down. Newts are the easiest creatures to deal with in the game, so this shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge. When you’re done, approach the test subject and press to pick her up and put her on your bike. You’ll automatically go back to camp.
At camp, Deacon brings the test subject to Sarah’s lab. As Deacon holds the girl down, Sarah injects her the cure she had been working on, but instead of healing the girl it kills her.
Sarah is visibly upset and Deacon realizes that all this time she hasn’t been working on a bio-weapon, but on said cure. Reverse-engineering the formula didn’t work and nothing seems be able to change these creatures back to what once they used to be like. Somehow Deacon encourages to keep working on her research and suggests they go back to Cloverdale to find better equipment for her next attempt at the formula. However, that’s not exactly what they’re going to do.
Right after Deacon leaves Sarah’s tent he is approached by the Colonel, Captain Kouri and Weaver, ready to try out the napalm weapon on field. And what better chance than doing it against a… Horde?!
This concludes This Could Be It mission in Days Gone and transitions seamlessly to “You Alone I Have Seen”.
