Days Gone What Kept Me Going Walkthrough

April 25, 2019 by FranciRoosters Leave a Comment

What Kept Me Going is a Main Story Mission in Days Gone. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the “What Kept Me Going” Main Quest.

Region: Crater Lake
Quest Giver: Sarah
Storyline: I’m Never Giving Up, An Officer and a Gentleman, Law and Disorder
Requirement: having finished You Can’t Be Replaced
Reward: none

Objectives:
  • Drive to Location
  • Ride to the Thielsen Pass with Sarah
  • Ride North to Cloverdale

What Kept Me Going Starting Location

This mission will unlock after the end of You Can’t Be Replaced. This mission starts in Lake Crater and unfolds in Iron Butte.

Drive to Location

Go to Wizard Lake Camp and meet with Sarah at her tent. She needs a new piece of equipment for her research, namely a DNA synthesiser. Deacon decides to help Sarah once again and his kindness earns him a kiss. Right before you’re ready to go, Captain Kouri and Colonel Garret show up asking you where you’re headed.

Ride to the Thielsen Pass with Sarah

Ride to your new mission marker. On the way over, Deacon shares his view about how pointless the military formality of the camp is. Sarah seems to be taking the side of the military organisation, saying how discipline and order are needed if they want to beat the Freakers. On your way to the Pass, you’ll be stopped by a guard. Luckily, Sarah holds a hierarchically higher rank than the guard, allowing us to continue.

Ride North to Cloverdale

After the checkpoint, Sarah will learn what kept Deacon going instead of calling it quits as they both ride to Sarah’s former job seat, Cloverdale, in the region called Iron Butte. The path is blocked by a truck that you’ll need to push out of the way in order to continue.

Continue on to your mission marker until a new cinematic plays out. The power is surprisingly still on, allowing Sarah to use her ID credentials to access the facility.

The place has food, water, and power and Deacon is surprised no-one has camped out there yet.

However, in a scene that reminds us of Birds by Hitchcock, Sarah and Deacon then are attacked by a flock of Criers. To escape danger, Deacon and Sarah scurry inside a car. After that, Deacon notices dead bodies inside the cars nearby, some of Sarah’s former work colleagues.

This concludes What Kept Me Going mission in Days Gone and transitions seamlessly to “I Knew These People”.
