One of the quicker ways to get around in Death Stranding is with vehicles. This quick guide shows you how to get vehicles and where to craft them.
- In Story Episode 3, beat the mandatory story mission “[Order No. 23] Retrieval: System Server”
- At the end of this mission you return to Lake Knot City. Upon completing the mission you unlock the Reverse Trike. It’s a 3-wheeled bike.
- You can also unlock various types of trucks from leveling up other facilities (by bringing deliveries to them). For example, in Central Region level up “Distribution Center South of Lake Knot City”. It gives you multiple levels of “Long Range Truck”.
Trucks require a bit more crafting materials but they are more sturdy and can cover a lot more weight at once. You can even load your cargo into the back of the truck.
Bikes require the least crafting materials. They are more versatile, even in rocky terrain you can drive between rocks and get around obstacles more easily. You can attach extra cargo to the basic reverse trike by holding 
while standing next to it (doesn’t work with long-range trike). You can also still be carrying cargo on your back as you drive. When MULEs shoot at you they can damage the cargo.
Unfortunately, the trucks you see around facilities cannot be used. Their batteries are dead, cannot be recharged and you can’t enter those trucks.
In order to power vehicles you must charge them at a generator (How to Get Generator). If you see sparks coming out of your vehicle it’s nearly destroyed. Bring it to a garage to repair it. You can also park vehicles at your garage (garage is above your private room in any facility). Vehicles from other players can also be retrieve in your garage.

You can load several small containers, a couple of medium containers or one large or XL container onto each side of the bikes.

If your bike gets destroyed, do you get it back or do you have to craft a new one?

You have to fabricate a new one, as you’ve probably discovered.

You have to craft or get a new one. You can get another from the garage though if you have met the requirements. Complete orders for the main story and youll unlock the bike. But dont forget that you have to unlock the bike again in each region you go to. New region means starting over with your garage. Kinda sucks but it makes since.

I lost the three wheeler in the first region, that was net to the distribution center due to destruction… how do i get a new one now, if i haven’t unlocked building them yet?
Its really annoying moving around per foot now that i haf that bike for all this time :/

Once you reach the first facility in Central Region “Lake Knot City”, you receive the blueprint to craft vehicles. Then you can craft as many as you want (in any facility with a garage / any map).

I finished south distro in lake knot with 5 stars but it didnt unlock the ability to xraft truck what do i do it wont let me make any i had used my delvery bot alot on that location.

To get the truck blueprint you need to do a specific mission from junk dealer. Just take all his deliveries until you get it.

You can only make vehicles at large centres. Such as the ones that you drive down into. Other delivery ports don’t offer that. And if you can’t create something yet, you haven’t progressed far enough to be able to yet.

Hey guys, so we all know that in your craft inventory it will tell you what you have made. I see the same goes for vehicles. Anyone have an idea of how to find where said created vehicle is? No point creating more if you got one hiding somewhere, right?

Normally they get parked on top of the elevator to your private quarters (so after crafting the vehicle at a terminal, turn around and it should stand there). If not, it should be in the garage which you can also access from the terminal. Please note that vehicles are not shared between centers and are tied to the center where you crafted it.
