Evolution: Magikarp > Gyarados (Level 20)
Characteristics: It has an extremely aggressive nature. The Hyper Beam it shoots from its mouth totally incinerates all targets.
Once it begins to rampage, a Gyarados will burn everything down, even in a harsh storm.

Gyarados Location in Pokemon Sword & Shield: You can find Gyarados in the following locations:

  • Bridge Field (Wild Area)
    • OVERWORLD – All Weather – can be found swimming in pool of water, requires Rotom Water Bike.
  • Dusty Bowl (Wild Area)
    • OVERWORLD – All Weather – can be found swimming in pool of water, requires Rotom Water Bike.
  • Route 2
    • OVERWORLD – All Weather – 20% chance that it swims on the water surface of the lake left (west) of Professor’s House. Requires Water Bike.
  • Evolves from Magikarp (automatically at Level 20)
