So if I trade to evolve it, I won’t be getting -‘supposedly-my’ Machamp back right? Its owner will be the guy I’ll be trading the machoke to, no?

The person you trade it to has to trade it back to you.

Its really simple. In my Pokémon Sword, I was really confused at first to. I have a few methods:
Sometimes they are found in giants mirror, but they are usually pretty strong. Make sure NOT to use the master ball if he hasn’t already , as you can only get one and he can catch Zazmenta at the end of the game. I recommend leveling up his starter Pokemon, and then using an ineffective move rather than a super effective one, as it is less likely to kill the gangar/Machamp, Then using an ultra ball. It’s less effective than the master ball, but far more common. Remember to get the Pokémon in the red first. or, if you do find someone else with the game, you go to the X menu, select link trade, and have them do the same. Then, trade your Machoke for their Machoke, and it will be a win-win, as after trading, both Machokes will evolve into Machamp, so they will both have one.

I found Gengar around the castle den, it was Level sixty btw, I need to find a Machamp while getting every Eeveelution so I can complete the Pokedex. I’m just so close to doing it, maybe a little less than Half way but I stay in the wild area and breed Pokemon constantly.

I don’t know where gangar or machamp are but I know where ghastly is. He is found at the watchtower ruins and is either level 1 or 60
