Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Pillar of Knives Walkthrough

Pillar of Knives is a Cordona Story in Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Pillar of Knives side quest.

Starting Borough: Old City
Starting Location: Pillar of Knives (wooden pillar with knives sticking out of it)
Quest Giver: Automatically started during Side Case “Love, Death, and Cordona”
Requirement: Play Side Case “Love, Death, and Cordona” until Pillar of Knives starts automatically (when you have to investigate the wooden pillar)
Reward: 15 Money
Case Info: I found a peculiar wooden pillar bristling with knives. It seems to hold a special cultural meaning for the locals.

Starting Location: Pillar of Knives

Pillar of Knives Cordona Story starts in Borough: Old City, Place: Pillar of Knives, the wooden pillar with knives sticking out of it, in the yard south of “Observation Point” fast travel station.

This quest will trigger automatically during Side Case “Love, Death, and Cordona“. It is not available before then as the pillar cannot be interacted with any sooner. And in order to get that quest you must have completed all of Mycroft’s Side Cases and finished most of the Main Story, so it’s quite late into the game.

During “Love, Death, and Cordona” you’ll get to the point where you must follow a zipline from the Bridge Tower to pursue a killer. The zipline ends in the yard with the “pillar of knives”, which is a big wooden statue with many small knives sticking out of it on all sides. Then as part of the quest objective you have to inspect some blood on the pillar and pull out one of the knives which was the murder weapon the killer used. At this point you’ll officially trigger “The Pillar of Knives” Cordona Story.

Solution

For this quest all you need to do is to eavesdrop on two conversations. One at Old City Market, one at the Barracks across the street from the Pillar of Knives. The quest completes immediately after the 2nd eavesdropping.

Old City Market – the correct words are: Family honour, blood vengeance, Old custom.

Barracks, found in Old City, after crossing Old City Bridge it’s the first building on the left (directly south of “Observation Point” fast travel station). The correct words are: Just give the order, Near the barracks, Ottomans taunt us.
