How to Get Resources
There are a few ways to get a hold of the resources you need to upgrade your gear.
- The abovementioned skill Buy Materials opens the possibility to buy resources from merchants. The skill is located on the right-hand side on the Seer-tree and costs 2 points (plus 3 points to unlock this skill).
- If you have a Ubisoft Club (formerly Uplay) account, there is a way to get some free resources. You’ll get 10 of each for free and can get another 10 of each for spending 10 coins, which you earn for several different actions.
- Use Senu with to scan your surroundings, while hovering . Invest in the skill Eagle Tagging and synchronize viewpoints to enhance your companions vision. See the screenshot below for a visual of the use of Senu. It shows the type of resource, it’s status and – once you have upgraded Senu’s vision – also the amount on the right side. When you find something worth your time, simply press to mark the resource.
- The best farming spot for animals is in region “Herakleion Nome”. There are all types of animals close together in the swamps. The best farming spot for raw materials is Alexandria. There are always transports happening throughout the town which you can mark using Senu.

What to do with items you don’t need?
There are different things you can do with items that you don’t want anymore.
Animal Goods
Sell them. There are just a limited number of side-quests where you actually need to get some animal goods – nothing you can’t obtain again within a few minutes. Some of them actually yield decent amounts of money.
Trinkets
Generally: sell them. But beware, there is a trophy called Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. It requires you to sell 100 unnecessary items at once (only trinkets count, animal goods don’t). So, before you sell trinkets for the first time, make sure that you have more than 100 of them. As tempting as it might be to make a quick 1.000 coins or so, save those 100 items and sell them in a batch to get this trophy (make a backup savegame before selling, just in case). Getting 100 trinkets will take a long time (most likely 20-30 hours), so spend that time wisely.
Weapons & Shields
There are three things you can do with unwanted weapons:
- Sell them for money.
Fairly simple – coins for goods. All blacksmith’s accept your goods. - Dismantle them.
When you dismantle old weapons, you get some resources out of them. See above for more information about which weapons usually yield which resources. Weapons of standard rarity (blue) give one resource back, rare items (purple) give two resources and legendary items (gold) give up to three different resources. Your items can be dismantled in the gear-menu with while hovering over the item. - Upgrade them at the Blacksmith.
If you have some nice rare or legendary weapons with good effects and want to keep them, although they’re a bit outdated now, there is a good solution. Every Blacksmith in the game can upgrade your beloved items in exchange for money. The upgrades will scale the items to your current level again and cost between 200 and 4.000+ coins, depending on the rarity level of the item and how many levels the item has to be upgraded to reach your current level.

Thanks so much! I was going crazy trying to understand what the icons for each crafting material meant.

1)I’ve been looking for weeks. I can’t find any answer. In a Lvl 40 but the first thing I did was go hunting to upgrade my gear. I only purchase 2 crystals after I got impatient but I found the rest. Anyone know if these can be used in another way or sold somehow? Btw if it’s not obvious, hunting on a horse will rack up animal furs, horns, etc, REALLY quickly.
2) Also, quick advice, I bought a couple items from the Helix credits store (shield, unicorn because it’s WAY Faster Thab any other ride I’ve found and will jump higher obstacles.
3) This is probably a stupid question, but is question, ***SpoilervAlert!!!***….other thand dodging those dogs (which im can’t seem to do) Any other ideas of how to reserve enough healh him? ???⁉️

Fox says
Silica is found in the new area that comes with that DLC
Karl says
Those are shards of a star.
To get them you need to have the Curse of the Pharaohs DLC, and go to the Valley of the Kings.
