Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap

October 19, 2023 by PowerPyx 90 Comments

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Trophy Roadmap

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 2/10
  • Approximate amount of time to platinum: 25-35 hours (20h Story + 10h Collectibles/Side Quests)
  • Offline Trophies: 42 (1trophy, 2trophy, 17trophy, 22trophy)
  • Online Trophies: 0
  • Number of missable trophies: 0, nothing missable
  • Glitched trophies: In rare cases trophy Superior for 100% district completion can become unobtainable if a collectible doesn’t count properly. Check the map counter before & after each collectible that it counted. Always save in a different Manual Slot so you can go back to a previous save if something bugged. The trophy is obtainable but individual collectibles sometimes don’t increase the map counter, if this happens it voids the 100% completion (especially Hunter Blinds are affected).
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: No, can do everything on easiest difficulty ‘Friendly Neighborhood’
  • Minimum Playthroughs: 1
  • PS4/PS5 Autopop & Save Transfer: Game is PS5 exclusive (no PS4 version)
  • PS4/PS5 Crossbuy: Game is PS5 exclusive (no PS4 version)
  • Free-Roam / Level Select after Story?: There is still Free-Roam after the story, can go back everywhere and still do all side quests and collectibles for 100% completions. Enemies keep spawning infinitely in Crimes & Mysteriums for combat trophies. Quests are not replayable.
  • Supports Manual Saves?: Yes, 30 Manual Save Slots
  • Release Date: October 20, 2023

Introduction

Welcome to the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Trophy Guide! In Spider-Man 2 you play as two characters, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, known from the previous two games. The overall gameplay and trophy design is very similar. For Platinum you need 100% district completion which requires finding all 160 collectibles. The collectibles get marked when unfogging the map (except Spider-Bots) so they are easy to find. The map gets unfogged when reaching District Completion Level 2 (from finding Collectibles) or going everywhere manually to unfog a radius around you. All of the quest-related trophies come from the story and district completion. Some collectibles lead to trophy quests too. The only thing that doesn’t come automatically from collectibles are combat trophies and a few miscellaneous open world trophies. These are all quick to do and enemies keep spawning infinitely after the story in Crimes and Mysteriums. Just have fun, you can approach the Platinum any way you like.

Step 1: Finish Story [20 Hours]

Because Collectibles and Abilities unlock gradually from story progress it’s best to finish the story first. After finishing the story you will have access to all Collectibles. What difficulty you pick doesn’t matter. There is nothing to look out for, nothing missable, can still do all trophies after the story. There are enough materials in the game to buy completely everything so you don’t need to hoard anything. If you want, you can already grab Collectibles when they unlock for XP and materials (see Step 2 for when they unlock). Reaching district completion level 2 unlocks Fast Travel and unfogs the map. Map areas you already unfogged will retroactively mark new collectible types when they unlock from story progress. However, the most time-efficient approach would be to focus only on the story and collect everything afterward to reduce backtracking. The only combat trophy that’s easier during the story is doing 25 Stealth Takedowns from Web Lines, the Web Line unlocks in Main Quest 8: Bad Guys on the Block.

Step 2: 100% District Completion (All Collectibles) [10 Hours]

After the story you will have access to all Collectibles, can still free-roam and do all side content. For 100% District Completion you need all Collectibles (160 total). By going for 100% completion you will automatically reach the maximum level and get enough crafting materials to buy all Suits, Tech Upgrades, Gadgets. Refer to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Collectible Guide – 100% Completion.

All Collectibles get marked when unfogging the map, except Spider-Bots which are unmarked. The map gets unfogged in a radius around you. Once you reach district completion level 2 it fully unfogs the map.

If you still need any combat-related trophies try to pair them up with Collectibles, many of them feature enemies. Getting bronze medals in the Mysterium Challenges is enough for trophy purposes, no need to get silver or gold.

What you need for 100% district completion:

  •  14 Marko’s Memories – unlocked in Main Quest 02: One Thing at a Time
  •  23 Photo Ops – unlocked in Main Quest 03: Show Me New York
  •  6 FNSM Requests – unlocked gradually from Main Quest 03 to 18: Wings of My Own
  •  10 Prowler Stashes – unlocked after Main Quest 06: Amends
  •  4 The Flame Missions – unlocked after Main Quest 06: Amends
  •  5 Brooklyn Visions Missions – unlocked after Main Quest 06: Amends
  •  9 EMF Experiments – unlocked after Main Quest 07: Healing the World
  •  11 Hunter Blinds – unlocked gradually from Main Quest 08 to 16: The Flames Have Been Lit
  •  4 Hunter Bases – unlocked from Hunter Blinds
  •  43 Spider-Bots – unlocked at Main Quest 13: Hunt to Live, Live to Hunt
  •  10 Mysteriums – unlocked after Main Quest 13: Hunt to Live, Live to Hunt
  •  2 Cultural Museum Missions – unlocked after Main Quest 14: Funky
  •  9 Unidentified Targets – unlocked after Main Quest 18: Wings of My Own
  •  10 Symbiote Nests – unlocked gradually from Main Quest 26 to 28: Set Things Right

Crimes and small material chests aren’t needed for district completion. After reaching 100% you will have enough materials to buy everything in the game, except maybe 1000-2000 Tech Parts which you can quickly farm from Crimes. If you don’t want to farm Crimes for Tech Parts, you can keep a Manual Save before buying everything from one menu, pop the trophy, then reload to get the Tech Parts back and buy everything from next menu.

Step 3: Miscellaneous Trophies [15 Minutes]

All you might have left are some miscellaneous trophies like finding Phin’s science trophy or flying from Financial District to Astoria without landing. These can all be done in a matter of minutes, refer to their description below.

Use Symbiote Abilities 25 times during Symbiote Surge
Silver
“Symbiote Surge” & “Symbiote Abilities” are only available for Peter (not Miles).

First, you must finish Main Quest 15: Good Men to unlock “Symbiote Surge”. This adds a yellow bar in the top right corner of the screen that slowly charges during combat. When fully charged it can be activated with :l3: + :r3: to perform a “Symbiote Surge”. This makes Peter more powerful for a short period (only lasts a few seconds).

While the Symbiote Surge is active you have to trigger Symbiote Abilities a total of 25 times. Equip 4 of these abilities and make sure they are all charged and ready before activating the Surge. Then you can spam all 4 abilities in quick succession before the Surge ends.

There are 6 Symbiote Abilities that count:

  1. Anti-Venom Punch  – story unlock – :l1: + :square:
  2. Anti-Venom Bomb – story unlock – :l1: + :square:
  3. Anti-Venum Strike – buy “Symbiote Strike” from Peter’s skill tree – :l1: + :triangle:
  4. Anti-Venum Blast  – story unlock – :l1: + :circle:
  5. Anti-Venum Tempest – story unlock – :l1: + :x:
  6. Anti-Venum Yank – buy “Symbiote Yank” from Peter’s skill tree – :l1: + :x:

They have white icons in the Abilities Menu. 4 of them are automatically unlocked from story progress (unmissable) and 2 are bought from Peter’s skill tree. They can be equipped from the “Abilities” Menu.

For it to count you have to activate these abilities DURING a Symbiote Surge (after the yellow bar in top right is fully charged and you pressed :l3: + :r3: to activate it). If you use these abilities without enabling Symbiote Charge it won’t count.

You can keep track of your progress via the built-in PS5 trophy tracker (click the trophy in the trophy list), it shows exactly how many you have done.

It can still be done after the story in Crimes. You can change the abilities from the “Abilities” Menu at any time for Peter. Fight enemies in Crimes until the abilities recharge and keep defeating enemies with these abilities in Crimes.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap Evolved
Defeat 100 enemies with Evolved Venom abilities
Silver
“Evolved Venom Abilities” are only available for Miles (not Peter). They are the following 4 abilities:

  1. Chain Lightning :l1: + :square:
  2. Thunder Burst :l1: + :triangle:
  3. Reverse Flux :l1: + :circle:
  4. Galvanize :l1: + :x:

They are all unlocked automatically from story progress (unmissable). They can be equipped from the “Abilities” Menu.

For it to count you have to land the final hit that kills the enemy using these 4 abilities, for a total of 100 kills. If the hit doesn’t kill the enemy it won’t count towards the trophy. It’s best to weaken the enemies beforehand, or focus on enemies that die in one hit, or spam all abilities in quick succession to wipe out bigger groups.

You can keep track of your progress via the built-in PS5 trophy tracker (click the trophy in the trophy list), it shows exactly how many kills you have done.

It can still be done after the story in Crimes. You can change the abilities from the “Abilities” Menu at any time for Miles. The easiest option for Miles is to play  Mysteriums as they have lots of enemies. Alternatively, it can also be done in Crimes as they keep spawning infinitely after the story.

Defeat 100 enemies with Spider Arm abilities
Silver
“Spider-Arm Abilities” are only available for Peter (not Miles). They are the following 4 abilities:

  1. Spider Barrage :l1: + :square:
  2. Spider Rush :l1: + :triangle:
  3. Spider Shock :l1: + :circle:
  4. Spider Whiplash :l1: + :x:

They are unlocked automatically from story progress (unmissable) and by buying them from Peter’s skill tree. They can be equipped from the “Abilities” Menu. It’s also advisable to buy the upgrades from Peter’s skill tree that improve these abilities. All abilities have a timed recharge that refills automatically over time.

Stealth takedown 25 enemies in stealth from the Web Line
Bronze
First, you must unlock the “Web Line”, it unlocks automatically in Main Quest 8: Bad Guys on the Block.

After this you can shoot a Web Line at walls with :l2: + :triangle: . It creates a line you can walk over. While on a Web Line look down at enemies and press :square: to do stealth takedown. You must do this 25 times to earn the trophy.

They have to be stealth takedowns, meaning you can’t be seen. If an enemy shows “Danger” when aiming at him, it means doing the takedown will get you spotted, so avoid this. Check all enemies in an area to take them out one by one in stealth. You can still do it after the story in the open world, enemies keep spawning infinitely in Crimes (you can go invisible as Miles and focus on stealth Crimes which are random). It counts 25 total across all combat encounters. You don’t need to do 25 in a single encounter.

Good places for it are also  Hunter Bases. They have lots of enemies close together.

It can still be done after the story in Crimes. Play as Miles and go invisible by pressing  (after unlocking invisibility from story progress). Alternatively, can also focus on Stealth Crimes (which are slightly random), but going invisible with Miles is the easiest option.

As Miles, use Reverse Flux to pull 6 or more enemies together simultaneously
Bronze

“Reverse Flux” ability is unlocked during Main Quest 23: No Escape (automatic from story, can’t miss it). After this you can activate it as Miles with :l1: + :circle: . It will pull in enemies around you. Do this when 6 or more enemies are near you and it will pop the trophy. It can only be done with Miles, not Peter.

This is practically a story trophy because right after unlocking the ability you will be prompted by the tutorial to keep using this ability and there are lots of enemies around. If you didn’t get it during Main Quest 23: Escape, you can do it anywhere in the open world at larger groups of enemies, which can be found during Crimes, Hunter Blinds, Hunter Bases, Marko’s Memories, and Side Quests. If you unslotted the Reverse Flux you can equip it again in the Abilities Menu > Miles > choose right-side ability and switch Venom Smash for Reverse Flux.

As Miles, find the science trophy Miles and Phin won together
Bronze

The Science Trophy is found where Miles places it in the final cutscene of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – on the back of the church tower in Financial District.

Go to the church in the south of Financial District, climb up the back of the church tower. There is a blue cube, press :triangle: to pick it up while playing as Miles. It can only be picked up as Miles, NOT as Peter. If you play as Peter the button prompt won’t come up.

You can switch between Miles and Peter by swiping Touchpad Left > hold :square: to switch characters. The earliest opportunity for it is after Main Quest 03: Show Me New York, at this point you can free-roam as Miles for the first time and freely switch characters. During certain story sections the characters can’t be switched, in that case you must advance the story until characters can be switched again (after the story they can be switched any time in free-roam).

Aunt May’s Grave can be found in the graveyard in the north-west corner of the map (north-west corner of Harlem district). It’s in the northern half of the graveyard on a grassy patch under some trees, away from the asphalted path. There will be a white/yellow circle indicating it when nearby. It’s together with Ben Parker’s grave. Go close to the grave and press :triangle: to interact with it for the trophy. The trophy only pops after having interacted with the grave.

Using only your Web Wings, glide from the Financial District to Astoria (Wind Tunnels are okay!)
Bronze

First, you will need to finish Main Quest 3: Show Me New York. After this quest you unlock “Wind Tunnels” which give you speed boost when flying into them with the Web Wings. This is mandatory to fly far enough.

You must glide from Financial District which is in the south-west corner of the map all the way to Astoria district which is in the north-east corner of the map. You are only allowed to use Web Wings and Wind Tunnels, nothing else (can’t use Web Swings with :r2: and can’t speed up with :x: Web Pulls etc).

You use the Web Wings by pressing :triangle: while in the air. Wind Tunnels look like gusts of wind and turn into “green rings” when flying nearby. You must then fly through the green rings to get a speed boost, fly from one Wind Tunnel to the next to stay in midair until you reach Astoria district. The easiest way is to use the wind tunnel north-east of Financial district and the one over the river.

Start by putting a waypoint marker on the map in the south-west corner of Astoria district. This is the point where you must fly to:

Go to the north-east corner of Financial district and look for a radio tower on a roof. This is a good starting point (you can pull up to the tower with :l2: + :r2: ):

Jump off this tower with :x: and immediately press :triangle: to open the Web Wings. Now glide towards the north-west, in the direction of the marker you put on Astoria district. After 200 meters there’s the first wind tunnel, fly into it and follow the green rings until you reach the river:

Over the river, fly into the wind tunnel on the right (just where you come out of the first wind tunnel). It will point across the river straight to Astoria. After exiting the wind tunnel you will arrive at your destination and the trophy pops in midair while you still fly.

So in total you just need to connect these two wind tunnels in one glide.

for the hunter blinds issue, when you say it doesnt increase the map counter do you mean the “0/4” on the legend tab or increasing the actual 0-100% counter, just to keep an eye on which one.

    • PowerPyx says

      October 20, 2023 at 6:25 pm

Both. If it bugs it won’t increase the % completion or the collectible-specific counter on map.
If the trophy counter (via PS5 trophy list) doesn’t increase don’t worry, those counters can be delayed. As long as it updates correctly on in-game map it should be fine.

You can also tell that something bugged when it doesn’t show a popup at the top of the screen after collecting it. Normally it tells you the collectible has been completed and shows the reward. When it bugs the completion popup won’t appear at the top of the screen.

Heyo! Just jumping on here to report an issue I found affecting levelling up the districts. While the collectible counter goes up (i.e. 4/4 completed), a district can stop gaining XP for completing this content. Hunter Blinds, Unidentified Targets, etc… ‘end’ but no longer trigger any kind of dialog windows after completing.

This happened to me once, I took note of it, and then completed four other activities and none of them gave the completion dialog. Rolled back to a manual save and it went back to normal.

I let them know. I was told they are aware of Hunter Blinds being buggy and a patch is planned for December.
But it’s a very low chance of happening. I estimate 10% or less chance that any collectible doesn’t count. For me it was the middle Hunter Blind in Financial District that didn’t increase the counter. Then the Hunter Base never spawned, this made it obvious something went wrong. Luckily I had a save to go back (it keeps lots of autosave backups). Just if you don’t notice until hours later you could really get locked out of the plat so better be safe and check the map after each one. My luck is always terrible with bugs, if something can bug it always does for me. I talked to some other people with Plat and they didn’t have that issue so it seems pretty rare.

May I know the 1st sandman collectible obtain in Chapter 2, is it won’t count into the 14 of the collection?

My trophy card keep stuck in 0/14 no matter I try to load for multiple different manual save, auto save even I start a fresh new game, after chapter 2 still 0/14???

Also, for the Miles related trophy, Evolved. I can confirm couple of time I was use the L1 skill to as last hit finish the enemy and yet, still 0/100?

For Peter related trophy was normal counting???

Any idea what going on? >..<

The 1st Marko Memory from story (2nd main quest) did count for me in both the map counter + collections menu.
As long as it shows correctly in-game I wouldn’t worry. The trophy trackers are often delayed but it unlocks the trophy fine when the in-game requirement is reached.

Thanks to clarify powerpyx, I try to collect all sandman collectible in chapter 3 and eventually found my trophy tracker having a big issue.

In game collectible 12, tracker 11, upon I collect the 13th & trigger last one prompt up on the map with the side quest turn up…..tracker from 11 become 13….weird. I was able to obtain this trophy & hopefully 100% trophy is in order.

How about the Evolved trophy? I was in Chapter 4 switch to Miles & do couple of random with unlock L1 skill as finisher, yet the tracker still 0/100. Besides the tracker any other statistic I able to refer for this trophy?

Thank you for the trophy guide. Trophies being easy to earn and 25-35 hours to earn the Platinum trophy is about what I expected, which is good. However, I’m disappointed that it’s possible for a collectible to be glitched, making the Platinum trophy unobtainable, hopefully that’s fixed as soon as possible.

I enjoyed the previous 2 games, but I wouldn’t say I’m excited for this game, because even though I’m interested in the story and characters, I’m not into the formulaic and repetitive open world activities, so I’ll probably end up playing this in a few months (when there are no bugs getting in the way of the Platinum trophy and when the game is cheaper, since there is no way I’m paying £69.99).

I’d just like to mention, in case someone has that issue too: I did the EMF experiment in the Financial District, but upon completion it didn’t show that it was completed, didn’t show any rewards and on the map it was still marked as 0/1. However, I went to do the next one in Prospect Park and then, during a fight, the game randomly popped up a notification that the Financial District one is completed and it marked it on a map as 1/1. Hope that helps in case someone runs into the same issue.

I wonder if it’s glitched for me cause i completed these districts before the story or does that have nothing to do with this? I’ve seen the other comments where you’ve mentioned that the tracker can get delayed but i would assume it would get unstuck by now. I’ll just keep going now and hope for the best.

While I was able to get superior and all the district 100 percent pop, the actual trophy for doing all the EMF experiments didn’t count, in addition, it didn’t unlock the suit, meaning I can’t get all the trophy for all the suits either.

It only takes one second to check and you will likely want to open the map to put a waypoint marker on the collectible anyway, so better be safe than having to redo everything.

It happened to me in the Harlem district, after leaving the mission and completed it in bronze, the meter indicated 0/1 even if the mission was completed. I recharged the rescue and redone the mission by immediately leaving Premwand X and the indicator of the district scored 1/1.

Was a nice game, maybe too many cut scenes but it is what it is.
As far as gameplay goes there were crashes and glitches that needed checkpoint reloading.
If were talking trophies the weird thing happened for Superior trophy the counter said 6/14 until i did the final Symbiote Nest then it just popped, first time seeing this stuff, was kinda releived when it popped.

Overall very nice. high quality game. easy 8/10. hope the developers wont go Conveyor system like the other studios did with Assassin’s creed series.

I’m struggling to do the data collector
Following the drones going through the wind tunnels and keeping up with them.
Is there any settings I can adjust to make it easier.

There is a setting called “Chase Assist”. I enabled this for a couple of these missions and it did help.

Thank’s for the guide, just got the platinum trophy. I would suggest not completing everything 100% until you get the trophies for defeating X amount of enemies a specific way. It’s still possible, but it’ll just make it more difficult. If you completed everything 100% then just do random crimes that pop up or load a save that hasn’t got everything 100%. Besides that, you can always wait until they add NG+

Another glitched trophy is the EMF research stations. I have 100% ingame, but the trophy still says ive done 8/9 of the research posts. I know i activated one while using miles and it switched to Peter, so maybe thats what glitched it out

No, there’s an additional puzzle after you finish the main story.

The final EMF Mission which spawns after the story is not needed for 100% completion of all districts. Not sure if anybody was aware of this, but you are able to 100% all districts before the end of the game. Of course, you still need to complete for the final suit.

For Armed and Dangerous and Evolved you can use the sand men. They are all one shot kill. In the last mission when you need to destroy a big christal the sand men have an infinite spawn! When you hate those two trophies just like me you can farm it both in +- 30 minuten!

The best way i found to complete Evoved was to go into a mysterium that has you do finishers, the enemies will spawn non-stop as long as you dont do finishers, your powers seem to recharge fast ,finished about 85 in around 10 minutes

Will the ‘skip puzzle’ option in the pause menu lock you out of any trophies?
