Evolution: Charmander > Charmeleon (Level 16) > Charizard (Level 36)
Characteristics: It spits fire that is hot enough to melt boulders. It may cause forest fires by blowing flames. Its wings can carry this Pokémon close to an altitude of 4,600 feet. It blows out fire at very high temperatures.

Charizard Location in Pokemon Sword & Shield: You can find Charizard in the following locations:

  • Only from evolving Charmeleon (at Level 36). You first need to get Charmander, which is only possible after beating the story. Once you finished the story, return to Postwick, Hop’s House, upper floor (town where game started). A red Pokeball can be picked up in Hop’s bedroom that contains Charmander. Now level it up or feed it XP items to make it evolve.
  • Cannot be caught in the open world.
