Iridium is a neutral element, commodity and crafting material in No Man’s Sky. It is used to craft several ship upgrades and other high-end materials.
Rarity: Uncommon
Locations:
- Mostly from shooting large asteroids. In some solar system there are many iridium-rich asteroids, in others they are non-existent. They are much larger in size than thamium asteroids.
- From attacking cargo ships. They often drop over a hundred iridium (do not confuse with small merchant ships that fly in and out of space stations). Cargo ships are the large blue freighters that you see warp in. Attacking them will drop some cargo for you to pick up. They also have some defensive turrets and attacking them gives you a wanted level.
- Rarely from attacking other starships such as space pirates.
