Introduction

Welcome to the Silent Hill f Trophy Guide! A new Silent Hill experience set in 1960s Japan, Silent Hill f features a more action-oriented gameplay with dodging and countering, while still featuring the psychological horror aspects you would expect in a Silent Hill game. To get Platinum, you will need to unlock all 5 Endings, which will require a minimum of 3 playthroughs. You will need to complete the game on Lost in the Fog difficulty (both action and puzzle difficulty), as well as find all 93 Collectibles (trophy-relevant documents, hidden Omamori, Character Upgrades). All players will get the same ending on their first playthrough, then on New Game+ you will be able to unlock more endings. 3 playthroughs are required as Ending 4 will require a save file with at least 2 full endings completed on it, the rest you can combine with some smart manual saves and partial replays.

Step 1: Complete the game on Story Action/Puzzle Difficulty, all New Game Collectibles, Ending 1

Silent Hill f has 3 difficulties across both action and puzzle gameplay: Story, Hard and Lost in the Fog. You will need to complete all of these, but you won’t have access to Lost in the Fog action difficulty on a New Game, so it is best to start with Story difficulty on both. Action difficulty trophies will stack, but Puzzle difficulty trophies will not.

While playing, you will want to collect all the collectibles that appear on a first playthrough, as well as get all the available miscellaneous trophies. Follow the Silent Hill f Collectible Guide to get everything.

Most of the collectibles and miscellaneous trophies during this playthrough can also be found again on New Game+. So if you miss any or choose to do a blind playthrough, you can get them on other playthroughs, but at the very least it is recommended that you get the following to save potential extra playthroughs:

  • Sakuko’s Diary (1), (2) and (3) – The locations for these documents will have new documents on New Game+ and New Game+2, so if you miss picking these up it will take an extra playthrough to spawn all the diary pages. These can be found in the Worship Hall.
  • Clinical Trial (1) – One Clinical Trial document will appear per playthrough. This can be found in Ebisugaoka Fifth Visit.
  • :silver: The Bird that Flies Highest – This is a miscellaneous trophy for the boss fight on Ending 1. If you miss it, you would need to trigger Ending 1 again to be able to attempt it again. This can be done in Dark Shrine.

Ending 1 is the only ending you can get on a first playthrough, so you don’t need to make any decisions during this playthrough. Once you finish the game, make a separate Clear Save File.

Step 2: New Game+ on Hard Puzzle Difficulty, all New Game+ Collectibles, Endings 2, 3 and 5

Once you finish the game, you can load a Clear Save File to start New Game+. Make sure to start it on Hard Puzzle difficulty, as you will need to complete all 3 puzzle difficulties, as it doesn’t stack.

New Game+ carries over your Faith, Stat Upgrades, Omamoris, non-puzzle documents and certain key items. It will also give you access to new areas, new items and new endings. In order to get all of these in one playthrough with only partial replays, follow the New Game+ Collectible Guide. The requirements for each ending can be checked by looking at Endings on the main menu after finishing the game once. By making separate manual saves at certain points, you will be able to get endings for their respective trophies, then reload to continue for the other endings.

Make sure to never use any Red Capsules during this playthrough, as it is as requirement for Endings 2 and 3.

At this point you will have access to Lost in the Fog action difficulty, so if you want you can do the highest action difficulty now. This is entirely up to you however, as there are pros and cons to doing Lost in the Fog on your second or third playthrough. Doing it on New Game+ will mean you won’t have access to the Sacred Sword for the majority of the game and you also won’t be fully upgraded or have access to nearly as many Omamoris, meaning the game will be harder. However, the boss fight on Endings 2 and 3 will be easier than the boss fight on Ending 4, so it’s a matter of whether you want to have a harder overall experience with an easier boss fight, or an easier overall experience with a harder boss fight.

While collecting Ema and Faith for your remaining stat upgrades, it is recommended that you keep one Ema to use in New Game+2. This is because you can unlock an extra Omamori Slot on New Game+2 which will be more beneficial than an extra upgrade in Health/Sanity/Stamina. You will be able to get the final stat upgrade towards the end of New Game+2.

Just like on the first playthrough, there are some documents you will want to make sure you collect to avoid extra playthroughs:

  • Sakuko’s Diary (4), (5) and (6) – The locations for these documents will have new documents on New Game+2, so if you miss picking these up it will take an extra playthrough to spawn all the diary pages. These can be found in the Worship Hall.
  • Clinical Trial (2) – One Clinical Trial document will appear per playthrough. This can be found in Ebisugaoka Fifth Visit.

Just like with Ending 1, there will be miscellaneous trophies tied to the boss fights of Ending 2 and 3. Make sure to get these or make a manual save to avoid having to redo these endings for their trophies.

  • Ending 2: :silver: Puppetmaster
  • Ending 3: :silver: Fox Tamer

Once you finish the game with either of these endings, make sure to make a separate Clear Save File. You will need a save file with at least 2 of the 3 full endings on it (indicated by the symbols on the save file) to be able to get Ending 4. This means either Ending 1 and 2, or Ending 1 and 3. Ending 5 (UFO Ending) does not count as a full ending.

Step 3: New Game+2 on Lost in the Fog Puzzle/Action Difficulty, Ending 4

After finishing the game twice, load a Clear Save File with at least two of the full endings completed on it to start New Game+2. New Game+2 will once again have new items and areas, allowing you to get the remaining documents for their trophies, as well as trigger Ending 4. Ending actions from the previous playthrough will remain completed, meaning you will be able to grab the Sacred Sword as early as the second Jizo Statue, and you won’t need to do the Crimson Water puzzle again to be able to purify it. Follow the New Game+2 Collectible Guide to get everything else and trigger Ending 4.

It is recommended to do Lost in the Fog action difficulty on this playthrough as you will be at your strongest with stat upgrades and Omamori. New Game+2 will allow you to increase your Omamori Slots to 5, so if you saved an Ema from the previous playthrough you will be able to immediately unlock this, rather than near the end of the game where you would find the last Ema. The best Omamori to equip for this difficulty are the following:

  • Beetle – Greatly increases damage inflicted to stunned enemies.
  • Boar – Greatly increases Stamina recovery speed and greatly shortens Out of Breath duration.
  • Rabbit – Press Heavy Attack immediately after performing a Perfect Dodge to deal a powerful Counter. This Counter greatly consumes Stamina.
  • Serpent – Will automatically perform a Counter when the visual hint appears, but some Max Sanity when it is activated. When equipping, Sanity will also recover at a lower rate.
  • Suzuran – Perfect Dodges become easier to perform.

With this combination of Omamoris, you will automatically perform counters, be able to perform Perfect Dodges easier, be able to do a powerful counter after perfect dodging, do more damage to stunned enemies and restore your stamina faster. This will make most encounters significantly easier as you won’t need to focus on countering, and allow for a lot more extra damage in general.

If you have difficulty with the puzzle solutions on Lost in the Fog difficulty, refer to the Silent Hill f Puzzle Solutions Guide.

Step 4 (Optional): Cleanup

If you missed any miscellaneous trophies or need an extra playthrough to collect missing documents, start a new playthrough by loading a Clear Save File from NG+2.

Clear Skies
Complete the game with action difficulty set to “Lost in the Fog”.
Silver
In order to unlock Lost in the Fog action difficulty, you must first complete the game once. This difficulty will add new enemy spawns throughout the game, increase their health and damage, and remove the ability for Hokora Shrines to restore your health/sanity for free. It is best to do this on your third playthrough, as by this point you should be fully upgraded and have all the Omamoris to make a stronger build. You will also be able to equip a 5th Omamori in NG+2.

If you die multiple times during an encounter, the game will offer you the chance to lower your action difficulty. DO NOT do this, as you cannot change it back and it will void the trophy.

A lot of the combat encounters in the game can be ignored by simply running past them, there’s only a few occasions where you will be forced to fight.

If you are doing this on NG+2, you will likely be doing this alongside Ending 4, which also has the longest boss fight. There will be checkpoints throughout the fight so you won’t have to redo the whole fight if you die. If you would prefer to not deal with a more difficult boss fight on this difficulty, then you can optionally do it on your second playthrough, or create a manual save before entering Shimizu Residence so you can change onto another ending. Ending 3 will have the easiest boss fight, but if you choose to do it on your second playthrough you won’t have as many upgrades or Omamoris for the rest of the playthrough.

Puzzle Master
Complete the game with puzzle difficulty set to “Lost in the Fog”.
Silver
This does not stack, you must complete a playthrough on each puzzle difficulty.

Lost in the Fog puzzle difficulty is available immediately on the first playthrough. All puzzles will have a unique solution for each difficulty, with the exception of puzzles in Shimizu Residence and Treasure Hall, as the puzzles here are dependent on the ending you are doing. Puzzles on Lost in the Fog will often provide obscure hints and have more complex solutions. As the puzzle solutions are the same for all players, you can simply refer to the following guide if you ever get stuck on any:

» Silent Hill f Puzzle Solutions Guide

Like the Fleeing Hare
Escaped from the Fog Monster at Ebisugawa without getting hit.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Ebisugaoka First Visit

After going to the Chizuruya General Store, you will have to flee from the Fog Monster. You will need to escape without being hit for this trophy. This is fairly simple, press :l3: to start running and keep running through the path presented to you. Make sure to press :cross: when you need to climb over or through an obstacle. Avoid getting close to the red tendrils that appear on the floor and walls, as these will hurt you. If you get hurt, you can either quit out and continue or simply die and continue. This will pop when the cutscene starts.

Untouchable
Opened the Shrine Vault at the Shrine Path without getting hit.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Shrine Path

After returning to the Shrines to try find the code for the door to the Shrine Vault, you will encounter a new enemy type. You will fight it immediately, and it will regenerate after enough time passes while you do the puzzle to find the code. You will need to fight it, complete the puzzle and open the Shrine Vault without getting hit. They will mostly attack with two attacks: an overhead attack that can be parried with :r2: , or a combo attack with nine swings, with the ninth being the overhead that you can parry. For the combo attack, walk backwards from it so you’re out of range, counting the attacks, then move in after the eighth attack so you can parry the overhead. You will know when you can parry their overhead attack as they will flash red.

If you want you can head back to the Hokora after each ema to make a manual save to make this easier. You can also simply avoid it after the first fight, as it is blind and will not attack you unless you make too much noise near it. Alternatively, this can be done on NG+ without even worrying about the enemy simply by inputting the code immediately.

Acupuncture Specialist
Arrived at the Nishida residence without making a single mistake on the scarecrow puzzle.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Ebisugaoka Second Visit

The scarecrow puzzle will require you to select the correct scarecrow in five areas. If you do all five areas of this puzzle without choosing the wrong scarecrow, you will get the trophy. If you ever make the wrong decision, simply quit out and continue, as it will checkpoint at the beginning of each area.

» Silent Hill f Puzzle Solutions Guide

A Federal Offense
Opened the Igarashi residence’s mailbox.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Ebisugaoka Second Visit

During the second visit to Ebisugaoka, you can find a Key to Sakuko’s Mailbox in front of Sennensugi Shrine, all the way north from the fields. With the Key to Sakuko’s Mailbox, backtrack all the way to the beginning of this area, at the General Store. Now head northwest and take the alley to Sakuko’s house. Use the key to open the mailbox.

The Sound of Silence
Defeated Sakuko without getting hit by the suzu bell attack.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Corridors

You will fight Sakuko at the end of the Corridors area. Twice during this fight, they will stun you and teleport away, then start charging up an attack where they will ring their suzu bell if you don’t stop them in time. When this happens, you need to quickly run up to them and stab them once to stop the attack. Both times they start this phase, they will do the charge attack three times, meaning you will need to quickly stop the attack six times in total. If you beat the boss without letting it hit you with any of these suzu bell attacks, you will get the trophy.

Go Away! You’ll Ruin the Shop’s Reputation!
Defeated the Giant Monster in front of Chizuruya General Store.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Ebisugaoka Third Visit

When you arrive at Chizuruya General Store with Shu and Rinko, there will be a Giant Monster as well as some regular enemies that you would normally ignore and go the other way to your objective. For this trophy however, you will want to defeat the Giant Monster. Lure out and kill the smaller enemies first, then focus on the Giant Monster. This will be the same as the previous encounter with it, so killing it shouldn’t be too difficult.

No One Left Behind
Stopped a certain number of enemies behind the white rabbit crest door from reanimating.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Worship Hall

In Worship Hall, there will be two sections you can go into. For this, you will want to go into the eastern section. This section will introduce blue lanterns as a mechanic, which will stop enemies from reanimating if they are killed within the light of a blue lantern. For this trophy, you will need to kill eight of the enemies in this area within blue lantern light. Enemies will glow with blue light when they are within range of a blue lantern. Some enemies will need to be lured into a room with a blue lantern. Keep an eye out for enemies during this section, if needed their locations are all listed below. These locations are for Story difficulty, on higher difficulties there will be more enemies:

  1. Inside the starting room with the Hokora Shrine.
  2. In the locker room near the red/green lever.
  3. In a nook in the second room with the red/green lever.
  4. In the adjoining room with the red door, must let it out by pulling the lever, then pull the lever again to open the locker room and lure it into there.
  5. In the green door corridor past the white door, lure it back into the room with the blue/white lever.
  6. Next to the red door at the back of these corridors, lure it into the room with the red/green lever.
  7. After entering the rabbit hutch, this enemy will appear in the room.
  8. After pulling the red/green lever near the rabbit hutch, a blind enemy will walk through the red door.
  9. In the second Hokora Shrine room after pulling the blue/white lever.
Agile Escape
Escaped from the Fog Monster at Sugisato without getting hit.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Ebisugaoka Fourth Visit

After going to the Mountain Hut where you get the gate key, you will drop down a ledge and subsequently be chased by the Fog Monster like in the beginning of the game. You will need to run through a few areas without getting hit. This time, there will be a couple of enemies along your path, so make sure to dodge their attacks. Be careful of the red tendrils on the ground as stepping on these can hurt you. If you picked up the Horse Omamori from earlier in this area, it is worth equipping as this will make it so stamina last longer when sprinting.

Once you reach the gate, you will have a brief respite where you can grab a few items, but then another chase will begin. This is more of the same, but near the end will be two Screamer enemies blocking your path. Let them scream and don’t advance until they stop, otherwise you will get hurt. If at any point you get hit, quit out to the main menu and continue to be placed right before these sections. Dying works the same as quitting out, so if you do get caught and instantly die, you can simply continue and it won’t count against you. The trophy will pop when you finish the second chase sequence, where the Hokora Shrine is.

Echoes of Jealousy
Defeated Rinko without being hit by her puppets.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Main Hall

You will fight Rinko at the end of the Main Hall area. During this fight, the boss will occasionally spawn puppets that slowly walk towards you. If they get caught in a fire attack, they will catch alight and rush at you, exploding. For this trophy, you will need to complete the fight without taking damage from any of these puppets. The best way to deal with them is to immediately attack them when they spawn while they’re still slow. They will die in 1-2 swipes, and you can then also Soul Siphon them with :cross: to charge your ability. If you see the boss charging a fire attack, stay away from any puppets to avoid them becoming explosive. If they do get hit by fire, stop attacking and let your stamina recharge, then dodge when they rush at you.

O Divine Tree
Discovered the Thousand Year Cedar.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Ebisugaoka Fourth Visit or Fifth Visit

In the area after being chased by the Fog Monster for the second time, there will be some stairs leading up to a shrine and some more stairs leading to this tree. You will need to come here on New Game+ to obtain the Sacred Sword anyway, so you will get this while going for endings.

Just Shut Up for Once, Dad!
Defeated Hinako’s father before her mother at the Shimizu residence.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Shimizu Residence

You will fight Hinako’s parents at the end of Shimizu Residence. For this, you will need to defeat the giant boss with the blade first. Simply ignore the smaller boss and focus only on the big boss.

Sly Like the Fox
Obtained all the crests without making a single mistake on the Inari statue puzzle.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Treasure Hall

For this trophy, you must find all three crests without making a mistake. There are rooms with multiple doors to choose from with only one being the correct one, so when in these rooms you must go through the correct doors. The correct door can be found by locating the Fox Statue with an arrowhead stuck in it. Remove the arrowhead and the Fox Statue will look at the correct door. Some Fox Statues will need to be revealed by holding :l2: near blood puddles. The correct doors will be the same on every playthrough, regardless of difficulty, and you can go through them without interacting with the Fox Statues if you know the correct door. You will likely get this naturally across the playthroughs.

Where Are You Going?
Caught up with the Fog Monster 3 times.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Location: Ebisugaoka Sixth Visit

As soon as you start this area, you’ll be chasing the Fog Monster. You will need to catch up to it 3 times for this trophy. You don’t actually have to rush for this, as it will only appear in your vision when you reach a certain point on the path. Once you see the Fog Monster, ignore the enemies and run up to it quickly. When you get close to it, it will teleport forward and block off the area, forcing you to the fight the enemies to continue. If you let the Fog Monster walk into the fog too far it won’t do the teleport, which means you missed it.

The Bird that Flies Highest
Defeated the Shiromuku without dying once.
Silver
MISSABLE

Location: Dark Shrine, Ending 1

This boss fight will only be during Ending 1. You will need to defeat it without dying once for this trophy. It is recommended that you equip the Blessed Hand Mirror Omamori if you have one, as it will fully restore your Health, Stamina and Sanity if you take a fatal blow. This is a long fight, so you will likely want a fair few healing items for this, but this shouldn’t be an issue if playing on Story difficulty as the game is very abundant with First Aid Kits and Bandages. For the most part this is quite manageable by wailing on the boss whenever you can. The only thing to really be cautious of is when the boss covers the ground in red flowers that chip away at your health. This will last about 10 seconds, after which an explosion will occur dealing heavy damage to you, so try to heal up while your health is chipping down to avoid getting instantly killed by the explosion. If you ever die during the fight, quit out to the main menu and continue that way, rather than clicking continue on the death screen.

Fox Tamer
Defeated all the summoned monsters before putting an end to the Shichibi.
Silver
MISSABLE

Location: Dark Shrine, Ending 3 (New Game+)

This boss fight will only be during Ending 2. Three times throughout this fight, the boss will weaken and start spawning enemies. Make sure to kill all the enemies during these phases before you attack the boss. If you kill all of the enemies before finishing the boss, you will get this trophy.

Puppetmaster
Defeated the Tsukumogami without getting hit by a single arrow.
Silver
MISSABLE

Location: Dark Shrine, Ending 2 (New Game+)

This boss fight will only be during Ending 2. This boss will use multiple weapons, and will eventually teleport far away and shoot golden arrows at you. For this trophy, you must get through this arrow phase without being hit by any arrows. It will have a few attacks here, but only three that fire arrows. For the first attack, it can fire 3 arrows into the air that fly towards you, dodge when these get close and be prepared to dodge 3 times. For the second attack, it can fire a volley of quick arrows directly at you. These will move quickly so you need to react with multiple dodges to avoid getting hit. For the third attack, it will shoot a rain of arrows directly up that will litter the entire area around you, just dodge constantly through this. In order to end this phase, you need to reach the boss, so keep running forward and dodging attacks as they come in. The other attacks that create waves can also be dodged, but if you get hit by these it doesn’t matter.

It is highly recommended that you do this fight with the Suzuran and Boar Omamoris. The former will make Perfect Dodges easier, which will fully restore your stamina, while the latter will make stamina regenerate faster. These will ensure you don’t run out of stamina mid attack. Alternatively you can use the Shrew Mole Omamori if you feel comfortable going into this phase on low health, as this will make it so dodges do not deplete stamina. If you are playing on Hard or Lost in the Fog action difficulty, you can lower it down to Story after dying a few times to make it easier to get to this phase faster, but this would mean you wouldn’t get the trophy for finishing the game on Hard/Lost in the Fog action difficulty.

God Slayer
Defeated both the Tsukumogami and the Kyubi within 10 minutes of the fight starting.
Silver
MISSABLE

Location: Dark Shrine, Ending 4 (New Game+2)

While on Ending 4, you will have a double boss fight at the end, against both Kyubi and Tsukumogami. Against Kyubi you will have fight with the Fox Arm, while against Tsukumogami you will have your regular weapons, including the Sacred Sword. Each boss will have three phases, with you alternating between the bosses after every phase. In order to get this trophy, you must defeat both bosses in under 10 minutes. Fortunately, there will be a checkpoint after after every two phases (so after doing one phase for each boss), and dying and continuing does not add to the time. This means you can die as much as you want, so you can take time to learn the bosses in each phase before completing the phases quickly.

It is highly recommended that you prepare for this double boss fight by bringing multiple Sanity-restoring items such as Ramune, Divine Water or Inari Sushi, as these can quickly fill up your Bestial Form charge, which will make the Kyubi phases significantly easier and faster. For Omamoris, it is recommended that you use Rabbit, Boar, Serpent, Suzuran and Beetle. With this combination, you will automatically counter when possible,  deal more damage against stunned enemies, be able to perform Perfect Dodges easier, and be able to counter by pressing :r2: after a Perfect Dodge (which is especially useful for Tsukumogami). Even on Lost in the Fog action difficulty, this is quite manageable to get in under 10 minutes, but if you find you are unable to do it fast enough, you can lower the difficulty to Story after dying multiple times.

MISSABLE

Location: Ebisugaoka Fourth Visit

For this, you will need to reach Shu’s house without ever using any Red Capsules. You can pick them up, but make sure to never use them. To make sure you don’t accidentally use them, it is recommended that you discard them by opening your inventory and pressing :square: on them. Once you reach Shu’s house, enter his workshop and DON’T pick up any of the Red Capsules in here. Grab the letter on the desk and you will unlock this during a cutscene. This will be a requirement for Endings 2, 3 and 4, so you will need to do this multiple times.

MISSABLE

Locations: Ebisugaoka First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth Visits (New Game+)

This will be done during Endings 2, 3 and 4.

In order to obtain the Sacred Sword, you must be on New Game+. In each of the first five visits to Ebisugaoka, you will find a Key Item and a Jizo Statue that you must offer the key item to. Once you have offered all five items to five Jizo Statues, you will be able to obtain the Sacred Sword from the Thousand Year Cedar.

Ebisugaoka First Visit:

  • Key Item: After the first Hokora Shrine, in a house that is open on New Game+. Grab the treasure key upstairs after crossing the balcony, then open the small chest in the room next to the kitchen.
  • Jizo Statue: Slightly down the hill, in the yard of the house on the left.

Ebisugaoka Second Visit:

  • Key Item: In front of the stones up by Sennensugi Shrine.
  • Jizo Statue: South from the Sennensugi Shrine, take the first path east and go behind the yard area.

Ebisugaoka Third Visit:

  • Key Item: Near the entrance to Ebisugaoka Middle School, take the left path to a deadend to find it on the ground.
  • Jizo Statue: Near the last Hokora Shrine, go up both sets of stairs and behind the house.

Ebisugaoka Fourth Visit:

  • Key Item: On the ground next to Shu’s Workshop, behind his house.
  • Jizo Statue: Slightly off the path to the south near where the last Hokora Shrine is.

Ebisugaoka Fifth Visit:

  • Key Item: Stuck in a tree behind a house, near the stairs that lead up to an Inari-sama Shrine.
  • Jiso Statue: Just west of the key item, up some small stairs behind a house.

Locations: Main Hall (New Game+) and Ebisogaoka Fifth Visit (New Game+)

This will be done during Endings 2 and 4.

When arriving at Main Hall on New Game+, you will be able to open an Inari-sama door upstairs near the second ritual area. Behind the door will be an outside area with a temple up some stairs.

Down by the water is a stone you can read with the Crimson Water puzzle on it. You need to ring 3 of the 5 bells in the area in a specific order. You will have to ring the bells one at a time, once every time the water fountain in the middle of the water tips and makes the loud clacking sound. Each bell will have a lantern on them with a symbol, which indicates the order to ring them.

  • Bell 1: Volcano, up near the temple entrance
  • Bell 2: Water, on the small island next to the puzzle stone
  • Bell 3: Tree, on the stone bridge on the right path

Doing so will turn water crimson. Now once you go to the Inari-sama Shrine during Ebisugaoka Fifth Visit, there will be a water bath full of crimson water. Place the Sacred Sword in the water to purify it.

Omamoris can be purchased from Hokora Shrines by first enshrining offerings to gain Faith, then drawing Omamori. While it says that they are random, it appears to only be random after some time passes. This mean that if you save before drawing an Omamori, reloading will give you the same one each time. Omamoris will start at 300 Faith, increasing by 100 after each pull until 1,000. There are a total of 23 Omamori to draw, costing a total of 20,200 Faith. If you simply want to get the trophy, you can save up enough Faith to buy all remaining Hokora to get the trophy, then reload in order to spend that Faith on stat upgrades instead.

You can get Faith from enshrining the following items.

Consumables:

  • Arare – 10 Faith
  • Ramune – 20 Faith
  • Yokan – 30 Faith
  • Divine Water – 50 Faith
  • Higashi – 80 Faith
  • Chocolate – 80 Faith

You could do a blind playthrough and still pick up most things on a second playthrough, it would just mean probably following two guides simultaneously (the regular ones and the NG+ ones), and it might result in an extra playthrough potentially.

Hey guys appreciate the early guide! It’s really great but one thing I don’t think is made quite as clear as it should be in the Steps section is that it seems the difficulty trophies stack while the puzzle difficulties do not. So would it be easiest to say

1st play through, Action: Story, Puzzle: Story
2nd play through, Action: Story, Puzzle Hard
3rd play through, Action: Lost in the fog, Puzzle: Lost in the fog

If the trophy descriptions are correct then this would probably be the best way?

Yes thank you for this correction, I didn’t realise at the time that Puzzle difficulty didn’t stack. I’ll adjust it to include this.

Thank you once again for the great guide !!!
Only one thing is not really clear to me from the guide: do the difficulty trophies stack ?
Meaning if I complete the game on “Lost in the Fog” difficulty do I also unlock at the same time the hard difficulty trophies ?

If that is the case can I play New Game on Soft, New Game + on Soft and then only New Game +2 on “lost in the fog” for the platinum ?

    • Archavia says

I wasn’t sure as I did Story/Story, Hard/Hard then LitF/LitF, but it appears that Puzzle Difficulty does not stack and must be completed on each difficulty. Action difficulty specifically states “or higher” so it should pop all when doing LitF.

Finally a game that makes you earn the Platinum by playing on the hardest difficulty. Very excited for this edition. Not looking forward to 4 different play throughs. Are all the play throughs very similar besides the Final boss/ending? Or will there be a lot of variation in the play throughs on new game+ and new game++?

    • Archavia says

      September 22, 2025 at 8:56 pm

There will be some new items/rooms you can access, and there will be new cutscenes (which the game tells you if it’s new so you don’t have to worry about skipping cutscenes), but the majority of the playtime on subsequent playthroughs will be similar.

    • Archavia says

I think Omamori Slots are the most important as there are some very powerful Omamoris. Then probably Stamina > Health > Sanity, but it really depends on how you play. Certain weapons/omamoris will benefit from more sanity, while others it’s almost entirely negligible.

If you missed Sakuko’s diary entries 1, 2, and/or 3 on your first play through, will they spawn after completing all the way through to the end of NG+2? In other words, can you collect them on a NG+3, or does it need to be a completely New Game? If it needs to be a completely New Game, will it merge with the files I collected on the NG+ runs, therefore counting 1-8 diary entries despite being on separate save files? In this way I will only miss the trophies of the two difficulties right? I do the last one on “easy” enigmas, I use the pills to go to Finale 1, I will be enhanced to the maximum and will be easier as a game. Is it any good?

Do you have any advice you can provide regarding defeating Shiromuku boss fight on Lost in the Fog action difficulty (doing this on a NG+ playthrough)? When the Shiromuku covers the floor in red flowers and explodes them, it seems to be an unavoidable insta kill. Is there a way to avoid this damage or a selection of omamori’s that can help? The Blessed Hand Mirror does not seem to break from this damage.

I encountered a trophy glitch on PS5 Patch 1.001.000. Trophies wouldn’t pop at all, and relaunching the game didn’t help.

I had to reboot the console and retrigger any trophy condition. Only then did all previously earned trophies pop simultaneously, sharing the same timestamp. This causes a major issue for anyone pursuing a clean trophy hunting record.

Additionally, the glitch occurs when my PS5 is disconnected from the internet. I saw someone on PSNP experiencing the same issue while their console was offline.

For Lost in Fog Difficulty you recommend beetle, boar, serpent omamoris but I’m near the end of NG+ and I have only the rabbit and suzuran ones. Was I supposed to spam the shrine with faith to get those or what. Kinda don’t see how you can finish the game in 3 playthroughs unless you do.

How strict do you need to be about turning consumable Offerings into Faith if you want to max out? Is it possible to max with ONLY the non-consumable Offerings?

I did a semi blind playthrough for my first run. Only looking at a guide to get the missable collectibles. Starting a New Game+, I was using your collectibles guide there but realized that there were some Omamoris and Emas I missed during my first run.

TLDR, is there any way you can create a combined collectibles list that notes which collectibles are only available during NG+ and NG+2? I’m finding myself having to have multiple tabs open just to make sure I’m covering everything.

One last thing, are there limits as to how many runs you can do? Just wasn’t sure if it were possible to do lower difficulties to get all the Omamoris to make the hard and Lost in Fog runs more manageable?

What ending is the best to do lost in the fog on? I tried doing it on ending 4 and just lost it at the final boss fight, now thinking about another playthrough with another ending…

I loaded a past save and worked toward ending 3. That was substantially easier as the boss isn’t so tanky and the right omamoris/perks make it quite manageable. Boss 4 is nigh impossible if you don’t have enough health/supplies it seems. Props to those that beat that on the highest difficulty!

For me i think ending 3 was best for that difficulty i found the last boss to be really easy on that mode the only boss I struggled on was your mam and dad

The guide says ending 3 is the easiest. Will try that after I roll credits on Yotei.

You almost have to dodge your way around all of the non forced fights on Lost in the Fog difficulty. Your weapons break after like two fights in this mode. This feels absurdly difficult.

Thank you for the guide! Just a quick question, I did my first playthrough in Story/Hard (Action/Puzzle) difficulties, will it cause any problems if I do my second run in Story/Story difficulty?

Can I do it like this?
    1st: Action Story/Puzzle Hard
2nd: Action Story/Puzzle Lost in Fog
3rd: Action Lost in Fog/Puzzle Story

Yes, that is fine. As long as you complete each Puzzle difficulty once, and LitF Action difficulty once, you will get all difficulty trophies.

About the trophy that you need to max health stamina sanity, I’m on my first playthrough, I’ve increased 3 omamori slots until now. will the slots carry on the ng+?or should I keep my faith for the other upgrades instead of omamori

So I missed diary 2 and 3 in first play through, can I continue my NG+ then get the all the missed diaries in a new game, will that count towards the trophy or do I have to do it in 1 continuous save? I just got to NG+, I don’t want to continue before confirming as it’ll mean doing 6 play through just because of 2 diary documents.

Question. Can I do Playthrough 3 on Story Difficulty. So afterwards I have got everything besides the Fog Difficulty thropy. I then would do a fourth one in Fog difficulty. I am in my third one and i dont have enough faith to get my fifth omamori slot and I had bad luck in drawing. So I am missing right now the Serpent one.

Would a better approach be to save the story puzzle trophy for the LitF action playthrough? The scarecrow puzzle and having to find more of Shu’s prized possessions seem to add risk of additional combat encounters. Correct me if I’m wrong about that though.

The scarecrow puzzle shouldn’t really have any enemies if you’re selecting the correct scarecrow each time, and regardless of difficulty you still go through the whole area for Shu’s Prized Possessions so it doesn’t really make a huge difference.

Unless you’re a great player with quick time events, I would add another playthrough. Lost in the fog difficulty is a huge spike from hard. And the final boss for ending 4 on the hardest difficulty? We’re looking for a way to get it done somewhat fast but this wasn’t it. I would say first playthrough casual/hard then second casual/lost in the fog (letting know that faith farm must be done at the fullest) and then lost in the fog/casual. Maybe I just suck but I just had a really bad time.

This has been my plan, I cant see a reason to play on Action Hard. Seems like two Story runs followed by Lost in the Fog would be best. And getting Lost in Fog puzzle done on second playthrough makes the most sense as well.

Don’t forget that the trophy for beating the final boss with Ending 4 in under ten minutes can be done in your LitF playthrough on Story action difficulty. Simply play through the game on LitF and make a save just before the final boss fight. Beat the final boss and don’t worry at all about the time it takes.

After clearing LitF, reload the save before the final boss and keep intentionally dying to it several times until the game offers you the chance to lower the difficulty. Lower it to Story and then focus on beating the boss within the 10 minute limit.

IMO the roadmap is perfect. I found the Ending 4 boss fine on Lost in the Fog, and I’m the type of gamer who finds non-Elden Ring FromSoftware games too hard. Honestly, the town 2nd visit fight against the blob before the storehouse exit and the Mother/Father boss fight was the worst part, the end boss was pretty straightforward, if not a gimme.

Hoard health items and do not engage in ANY non-mandatory fights. With a dodge-heavy Omamori builds this is quite easy to do.

Also handy to note, you get your health and sanity back when you alternate between the real world and “fox world”. So if you’re towards the end of a chapter and you know you’ll be entering “the other realm”, power through without health-ing up to keep those items as your health will be replenished for you.

For The Bird That Flies Highest, I missed it on my blind run. But while doing ending 4, I made a separate save right before Shu’s house, did some drugs and the cutscene in the shed didn’t trigger. There are pills in there if you don’t have any.

So glad I didn’t need an extra run. Thanks for the guide!

Hi just reading your step 1/step 2 guide,
I’m on step 1 at the moment, for that says play on story for action and puzzle.

    But for step 2 says
Play new game plus/puzzle on hard mode
So was just wondering , is new game plus automatically hard or when the new game starts I play it on hard mode or do I play it on easy mode again but choosing hard mode for puzzle?

    Sorry for the confusion

Hi I’m on my 2nd run doing ending 2/3

Do I want to do the ending without the sacred sword first , save that on my ending 1 save so that will give me two full endings and new game plus 2

Then load back up once I can get the sacred sword, then complete that ending,
If I save that on my save 1,

That would have 3 full endings, would that give me new game plus 3 by any chance? As I want to do my lost in fog with new game plus 2

I would really like to do a blind playthrough, and then get all collectibles on my NG+ run

But I noticed you have a separate collectibles guide for NG and NG+

If I do a blind playthrough, are these collectible guides written in a way that I have to consult both guides at the same time to make sure I don’t miss anything?

    Patch 1.10 just dropped

A patch that adds a new casual difficulty and reduces the amount of forced combat areas, speeding up NG+ runs, and bug fixes such as Sakuko’s diary in NG+.

Does this affect the platinum much?

I’ve seen that the boss in ending 3 seems like the easiest one. I was thinking of doing all the endings (2, 3, and 4) in story action mode and then doing a new run through Lost in the Fog to trigger ending 3. Is that possible? Or does the game no longer allow you to do a NG+ once you’ve done ending 4?

Update 1.003 just dropped. On New Game+, obtaining the front door keys to Shu’s house without using the red capsules even once will remove all red capsule placements. This triggers the “don’t take any Red Capsules” condition required for certain endings.

In fact, it may be easier to go to ending 1 first, then to ending 3 (take the sword and not clean it), then start over and go to ending 2 (take the sword, clean it), and make a separate save for ending 4. In my case, I go to ending 2 on “Lost in the Fog.” BUT, after getting ending 2 and continuing the game to ending 4, you can already die several times so that the game will offer to lower the difficulty. Next, kill the boss from ending 4 on easy difficulty (at this point, we have obtained all the achievements for difficulty).
This way, we can complete the game in 3.5 playthrough (as in the guide) and be fully upgraded for the highest difficulty.
