Introduction
Welcome to the Valor Mortis Trophy Guide! Valor Mortis is a first person soulslike created by One More Level, the same developer who worked on Ghostrunner and its sequel. You play an alternate history version of the Napoleonic Wars, played from a first-person perspective with a heavy emphasis on parrying in combat.
Trophy-wise the game is similar to many soulslikes, requiring you to defeat all bosses, acquire all equipment, and complete most quests. The game does not have any side areas or optional bosses, all areas are progressed through during the story in a linear fashion. No important items in the game are missable, and you can return to all prior areas after defeating the final boss.
The only missable trophy is
Abyssal Eviction which requires having the Shield Transmutation upgraded to Level 5, and is missable due to there only being 2 of the maximum level upgrade materials. Make sure to use one of them on this Transmutation and then nothing else is missable.
Step 1: Story & Collectibles
Your first step will just be to complete the game. You can follow the Valor Mortis Collectible Guide to obtain all trophies and collectibles in one playthrough. Along the way grab any upgrade materials and consumables you find, so explore all areas thoroughly.
Keep in mind the only missable trophy
Abyssal Eviction which requires having the Shield Transmutation upgraded to level 5. If you want to be sure of getting this without extra work then save the first Quintessential Upgrade Material you obtain until you upgrade the Shield.
(Optional) Step 2: Cleanup After Story
After defeating the final boss, you are placed back near the final Lantern and can return to all previous areas to clean up any remaining trophies and collectibles if needed.

Aerial Annihilation Kill an enemy with a headshot after a wall jump. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for killing any enemies with a headshot after completing a wall jump. While there aren’t many opportunities for it, it is possible to aim and shoot firearms while in the air.
Before trying this you should make sure to have unlocked the Airborne Aiming skill in the third column in the skill tree. This causes time to slow down when aiming in mid-air, allowing you to make this shot much easier. One of the easiest locations to earn this is from the lantern The Outskirts > Broken Bridge. When you are progressing, you perform a couple wall jumps and grapples to continue up the area. On the second and third walljumps there is an enemy right in front of you that you can headshot after the wall jump. You can take two shots to kill the enemy as long as the killing shot is in the head, even if you already blew up a head weakspot on that enemy. You can also use the Musket instead of the Pistol as it should instantly kill all the normal soldiers. If you kill the enemy without a headshot you can return to the Lantern to respawn the enemies and try again. |
||
![]() |
Scattershot Kill 5 enemies with a single Blunderbuss shot. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for killing at least 5 enemies with a single Blunderbuss shot. The Blunderbuss is unlocked during Chapter 3: Rendezvous, but you will likely need to upgrade it multiple times before you are able to kill this many enemies at once. It is possible with a Level 6 Blunderbuss with the Collateral Damage (wider spread) upgrade.
For this and other trophies for killing enemies, one of the easiest locations is from the lantern Fallen Village > Marketplace. Directly in front of you there is a barn, when you enter it triggers a group of 5 villager enemies to chase after you. Stand in the doorway of the barn and block the enemies to get them to bunch up around you, then shoot directly in front of you. If you don’t kill all 5 at once you can just interact with the Lantern to respawn them. |

Windhover Kill 3 enemies with a Pistol while aiming in mid-air. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for killing a total of 3 enemies using the Pistol while in mid-air. This means enemies at 3 different time, not 3 enemies in one instance of being in the air.
It is recommended to do this in the same way at the same spot as |
||
![]() |
Hood-Snatcher Decapitate 3 enemies with a single Claymore attack. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for decapitating at least 3 enemies with a single Claymore attack. The Claymore is the final melee weapon, unlocked at the end of Chapter 6: Punishment. Unlock the other two weapons it is used with both hands and cannot be used to parry, which the exchange being that it does a lot more damage than the other two melee weapons and has secondary attacks that use Nepthoglobin.
Like the other trophies this is easy to complete from the lantern Fallen Village > Marketplace. Run into the barn to trigger the group of enemies, then stand in the doorway to let them bunch up. Hold |

Symphony of Steel Perform 10 Parries without taking damage. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for performing a total of 10 parries in a row without taking damage in between. This can be done on the same basic human enemy by just standing in front of them and letting them attack you. If you miss a parry and guard against an attack in between then you must start over, as guarding against attacks causes you to take damage. | ||
![]() |
Flaming Feast Set 4 enemies on fire with a single Flamethrower use. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for inflicting Ignite on 4 enemies with a single usage of Fire Transmutation. When you holding using Fire on an enemy it will slowly fill up the Ignite status on them, until the point it fully fills and they are lit on fire with the Ignite effect. You don’t need to fully deal all damage with one usage, only inflict the status on 4 enemies with one usage. For example if an enemy interrupts your cast but you hadn’t ignited anyone yet, then you can use Fire again and it still counts as long as you fully fill Ignite on 4 enemies with one continuous cast.
Like the other trophies this is easy to complete from the lantern Fallen Village > Marketplace. Run into the barn to trigger the group of enemies, then back up and let them bunch up before using Fire on them. |
||

Statue of Insanity Fully lock Sergeant Gaspard ‘Cannonhand’ Dubois in Stasis. |
![]() |
| This trophy is for fully locking one of the Remnants of the Iron Regiment enemies using the Stasis Transmutation. These enemies are first encountered as the boss at the end of Chapter 3: Rendezvous before you have access to Stasis, but then they appear as enemies throughout the rest of the game starting in Chapter 5: Crime in the Vale of Wrath region.
From the lantern Vale of Wrath > Wolfsbane Field progress by clearing the wall by destroying the two weakpoints, then in the path you progress there is an enemy similar to the second boss. Fully freeze it by using Stasis to fill all Stasis orbs that appear above its health bar. If you accidentally kill it before successfully freezing it, then it will respawn when you return to the lantern. |

Abyssal Eviction Kill an enemy by pushing them into the abyss with Shield Bash. |
![]() |
| MISSABLE
This trophy is awarded for killing any enemy by pushing them off a ledge into the abyss using the Shield Bash ability on the Shield Transmutation. This ability becomes available at Level 5, so you need to fully upgrade the Shield Transmutation to earn this trophy. This is missable as there seems to only be two of the Quintessential Transmutation Materials available in the game, so you must make sure to use one of them on Shield to fully upgrade it. After you have unlocked the upgrade, you can go to a location with an enemy near a ledge, then hold |

Single Stroke Shoot off a Risen Grenadier’s bucket. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for shooting the bucket on a Grenadier enemy.
Starting in Chapter 2: Regroup in the Valley of Ashes region you can find Grenadier enemies, which will throw grenades at you from range to attack you. At their waist they have a bucket which contains the grenades and is where they pull them from to throw. Shoot this bucket on any Grenadier to destroy it and prevent them throwing grenades, while also earning this trophy. |

God’s Trigger Land 10 consecutive headshots or Weak Point hits without missing. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for landing 10 consecutive headshots or weak point shots with ranged weapons. This can be with any of the ranged weapons, but is easiest with the Pistol or Rifle (Musket).
You can melee attack in between, as long as you don’t miss a shot with a ranged weapon. Shooting an enemy with a head weakpoint, then shooting them in the head again still counts. A multi-hit weakpoint such as the arm of the Grenadier also counts. If you want to specifically try earning this, you can return to the start of the game such as The Battlefield > Onslaught Arch and then just headshot all of the weapon human enemies going through the battlefield area. |
||
![]() |
Frenzied Flame Ignite the bonfire in the castle. |
![]() |
| This trophy is for igniting the bonfire in the Fortress area, a reference to the bonfires in FromSoftware’s games.
From the lantern Fortress > Chapel progress into the underground area until you reach a sewer room with a door on the left side after a pole jump. Go into that area, then at the bottom of the flight of stairs turn left and go down a second flight of stairs. After the stairs go to the room on the left to find a sword stuck in the ground. Use Fire Transmutation on it to light it and earn the trophy. |
||

Mind the Gap Die by falling into the abyss. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for dying by falling off ledges at any point in the game. “The Abyss” just means the area when you can jump off ledges and then take damage, then the game will place you back on solid ground. You can continually jump off a ledge until you reduce your health to 0 and die to earn this trophy. | ||

Rookie Mistake Attempt to use a Ferrofluid Flask with none remaining. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for attempting to use Ferrofluid (heal) when you have no flasks remaining. This can be done at any time by purposely damage yourself and then healing, until you have no more remaining Ferrofluid and trying to heal again. | ||
![]() |
In the Nick of Time Interact with a Lantern while below 20% Health and with no Flasks remaining. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for interacting with a Lantern while you are below at least 20% Health and have no more available Ferrofluid (healing) remaining. You can do this effectively at any time after the first lantern by allowing enemies to damage you and healing, then guarding to take damage and lower your health to around 20%, then returning to a Lantern. In-game you cannot see your current health with a number, only the health bar, but a way to estimate this is to have your health at around the small segment in the purple Nepthloglobin bar under your health bar.
If you use all Ferrofluid and then die to the boss in Chapter 1: Revival you will be at the next Lantern with low enough health you will unlock this trophy without trying |

![]() |
Fight Fire With Fire Ignite an enemy while you are also Ignited. |
![]() |
| This trophy requires you to inflict Ignite on an enemy while you have Ignite inflicted on yourself. The easiest way to purposely inflict it on yourself is by standing in a fire in the environment, such as campfires that are found in many areas. Then use Fire Transmutation on any enemy to Ignite them, awarding the trophy. Just be sure to watch your health while doing this as Ignite can inflict quite a bit of damage over time if you don’t heal.
An easy location to do this is at the Caverns > Last Sunlight Lantern. Go into the first cave where the enemies are and have one of them chase you back near the entrance to the area where there is a campfire. Stand in it to light yourself on fire, then use Fire Transmutation to ignite the enemy. |
||
![]() |
Jackknife Deal damage with every Melee Weapon, Firearm, and Transmutation without dying. |
![]() |
| This trophy is awarded for dealing damage with all weapons and Transmutations in one life. This requires you progressing to at least the middle of Chapter 8: Blasphemy as this is when you acquire Shield, which is the last of the Weapons and Transmutations.
After that at any point you need to damage any enemy with each weapon and ability. You can travel back to the start of the game and do this on weak enemies if you want, progressing through the first area. If you use all weapons and Transmutations and the trophy/achievement doesn’t unlock, try cycling through them again, and applying a full damage effect with both Fire and Stasis. |
