Tales of Arise Bibliophile Walkthrough

Bibliophile is a Sub Quest in Tales of Arise. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Bibliophile Side Quest.

Region: Menancia > Auteliana Palace (1F) > Library
Quest Giver: Tigrina
Requirement: Finished the Menancia story arc, Lord Dohalim joined your party
Rewards: Pancake Recipe, 3100 Gald, 185 SP
Mission Info: Like any good librarian, Tigrina in Viscint has a passion for rare books. If you find any in your travels, be sure to equip them and show them to her, especially since she’ll give something “special” in return.

Starting Location: Bibliophile

Enter the library through the 1st floor of the Autelina Palace (in 3rd Realm Menancia). Talk to the girl by the bookshelves (if she’s not there, return after finishing the story arc in Menancia when Lord Dohalim has joined your party).

Show Secrets of the Stars

She wants you to show her a few different books. The “books” in this case are Rinwell’s craftable weapons. Because she’s a mage she uses a book as her weapon to cast spells. You can craft books at any merchant, found at any campfire.

The first book “Secrets of the Stars” is Rinwell’s starting weapon, she automatically has this equipped when she first joins your party. So by now you’ll have it in your inventory automatically.

Show Nature’s Beauty-type weapon

Nature’s Beauty is the 4th craftable weapon for Rinwell.

Required Materials (Nature’s Beauty):

• 1600 Gald
• Bizarre Megacore x4 – obtained from: Forest Roper (Gilanne Woodland), Granilem (Traslida Highway, Razum Quarry), Creepzilla (Adan Lake, Mobile Fortress Gradia), Earthern Mass (Traslida Highway, Tietal Plain), Tempestuous Mass (Mount Dhiara, Aqfotle Hills), Viscous Mass (Aureum Falls, Del Fharis Castle), Ooze (Underground Waterway, Frozen Valley)
• Earth Stone x1 – obtained from: Earthern Mass (Traslida Highway, Tietal Plain)
• Titanium Vambrace x1 – obtained from: Ape (Gilanne Woodland), Alpha Reaper Gigant (Traslida Highway, only spawns once)

Show Taming Water-type weapon

Nature’s Beauty is the 2nd craftable weapon for Rinwell.

Required Materials (Taming Water):

• 890 Gald
• Strange Core x8 – obtained from: Roper (Ulvhan Grotto, Rudhir Forest), Golem (Sandinus Ravine, Iglia Wastes), Ooze (Underground Waterway, Frozen Valley)
• Astral Crystal Fragment x2 – obtained from: Cysloda Armored Marksman (Cysloden, Riville Prisoner Tower), Cysloda Armored Spearman (Cysloden, Riville Prisoner Tower), Cyslodia Chief Spearman (Riville Prison Tower). Also found in Cyslodia > Safar Sea Cave – Central Level (blue sparkles on map).

Show Radiant Light-type weapon

Nature’s Beauty is the 3rd craftable weapon for Rinwell.

Required Materials (Radiant Light):

• 1440 Gald
• Bizarre Megacore x6 – obtained from: Forest Roper (Gilanne Woodland), Granilem (Traslida Highway, Razum Quarry), Creepzilla (Adan Lake, Mobile Fortress Gradia), Earthern Mass (Traslida Highway, Tietal Plain), Tempestuous Mass (Mount Dhiara, Aqfotle Hills), Viscous Mass (Aureum Falls, Del Fharis Castle), Ooze (Underground Waterway, Frozen Valley)
• Clam Tentacle x2 – obtained from: Shellshocker (Safar Sea Cave, Traslida Highway)

Show the rarest book

The rarest book is the 16th craftable weapon for Rinwell (2nd best weapon), called Heavenly Gaze. This is the tricky part for the quest. You cannot craft the Heavenly Gaze until the very end of the story. The crafting plan unlocks near the end of the game. The required crafting materials are found in the final regions of the game. Hence, the Bibliophile cannot be completed until much later (about 20-30 hours playtime later than you can pick up the quest).

Required Materials (Heavenly Gaze):

• 19,580 Gald
• Mystical Luminacore x6 – obtained from: Blooming Roper (The Wedge), Treant Roper (The Otherworld), Magmalem (Berg Volcano), Gnome Guarder (Earth Spirit Temple), Lavalem (The Otherworld), Chrome Gazer (Gegham Helgarahi), Astral Agony (Tarfhal Helgarahi), Astral Doubt (Tarfhal Helgarahi), Punisher (The Otherworld), Flaming Mass (Berg Volcano), Astral Lament (Tarfhal Helgarahi), Helganquil (Gegham Helgarahi, Tarfhal Helgarahi)
• Ominous Eyeball x2 – obtained from: Astral Sloth (Tarfhal Helgarahi), Mash Boomy (The Otherworld)
• Incendiary Scale x2 – obtained from: Blast Bee (Gegham Helgarahi), Bee Prisma (The Otherworld)

If you always fight all enemy groups you see, you should have enough of the required materials after finishing the story. Then you can craft the Heavenly Gaze and return to the quest giver in the library. If you don’t have enough crafting materials you can keep farming them from the enemies & locations mentioned above.

Satisfy Tigrina’s hunger for books

Show Tigrina all of the books, including the rarest book, to trigger a dialogue with her. She will reward you with the Pancake Recipe.

This finishes the Bibliophile sub-quest in Tales of Arise.
