Iron Pipe is a Crafting Material in Tales of Arise. It’s needed to craft the Realm Unifier weapon for Alphen. However, unlike other materials that you get from enemy drops, this one is actually a secret weapon.
The Iron Pipe is a reward for completing Sub-Quest The Mysterious Pair. If you do that quest you’ll automatically have to pick it up and can’t miss it. The quest itself is also not missable, it can still be done after the story. So don’t worry, there’s no way to mess this up. Below are all the steps needed.
Step 1: Finish Sub-Quest “A Healer and Her Patients”
The Sub-Quest “A Healer and Her Patients” is automatically added to your quest log during Main Quest “Through the Greenery”, at the start of The 3rd Realm Menancia, Region: Overseer Hill. Getting the quest is an unmissable part of the story. The quest wants you to heal 3 people with Shionne who are wounded in Overseer Hill. It only takes a few seconds, they are marked by green stars on the map. The last person you heal is the “Wonder Bard”, this is the important part because he’ll be our future quest giver that leads to the Iron Pipe.
Step 2: Start Sub-Quest “The Mysterious Pair”
At the start of the 4th Realm “Mahag Saar”, in the town Niez, you’ll encounter the Wonder Bard again. He offers the Sub-Quest “The Mysterious Pair”, accept it. We need it to find the Iron Pipe. See his location below:
Step 3: Pick up Iron Pipe in Calaglia – Iglia Wastes
Now that we have the Mysterious Pair quest, we are supposed to use 3 mystery texts to track down 1 item location of what’s referred to as “a secret instrument”. That instrument is actually the Iron Pipe! Even though there are 3 clues they are all pointing towards the same location (not 3 different places).
The Iron Pipe Location is in Calaglia > Iglia Wastes. In the northernmost point of that map is a sparkling object in the dirt. Dig it up to obtain the Iron Pipe. See the location below:
Return to the Wonder Bard afterward to complete the quest. You’ll get to keep the Iron Pipe of course. After all, you need it to craft the Realm Unifier, the best craftable weapon for Alphen. At this point in the game you won’t have the crafting blueprints yet, they unlock automatically from main story progress later on.
