Chapter 4 Walkthrough
The Crime Scene
At the start of the chapter, it will be the next day and you will be tasked with going back to Seiryo High School to investigate more. Head up to the Faculty Room to attempt to speak with Sawa-sensei again. After some talking you will leave, then ask Tsukumo to find the crime scene where Mikoshiba was murdered, then head over there.
You need to find a way to get inside the building. Go around to the left from the locked door, then inspect the hole in the fence in the corner. Once inside turn around and inspect the air conditioning units to find a way to climb up into the building.
You’ll need to do some more parkour to get up and inside. The game explains how wall running and swinging from bars work, where you press the button at the correct time. Follow the path up until you reach the window to enter the building.
Drop down to the lower area, then you will start inspecting the crime scene. You need to inspect the arrow burnt into the ground and the blood splatter it is pointing to.
The detectives you saw at the school earlier will show up and bust you for breaking in. Show the detective the Photo of Hiro Mikoshiba so that they know you’re there investigating and you have info they might want. Once they remove your cuffs you need to go through all the dialogue options to get more information yourself.
Yagami notices some men watching them from outside the building, and you’ll go and chase one of them down.
Once caught the men come and explain they’re former students of Sieryo High who were in town together and decided to look at the building and the detectives let them go. You can then return to Yokohama 99 when you’re ready to continue the story.
The Wiretapping Incident
When you are outside Yokohama 99 you see some men talking about a “listening device”, which you then gain as a keyword to use in Buzz Researcher. Check it out to lead yourself over in front of The Bee.
Go nearby in front of the courthouse where the crowd is to find Tsukumo stopped by some police. Turns out they think he’s the one doing the wiretapping and want to arrest him. Show them your Attorney’s Badge to have them let him go.
Tsukumo gives you the Detector, which is another detective device you can use when searching that allows you to find bugs or other signal sources. To find the bug in the parking lot you can try searching yourself by following the readout, or run around to the opposite side of the building and inspect the dark SUV when the Detector lights up green.
You can then return to Yokohama 99 and rest on the couch when you’re ready to continue the story.
Inspecting the Station
You are now going to Ikebukuro Station to meet up with Hoshino from Genda Law Office to inspect the scene of the groping incident. Take a taxi to the new location at the top of the location list to meet him. At the station, you will first be riding a train where you can look around the interior. You can inspect the passengers as well as the window, but the main thing to inspect is the security camera just above the door beside you.
Next, you will be back in the station where you are tasked with spotting all of the security cameras in the area. These are the tube style with the black bottom that area typically at the bottom of stairs, and the normal rectangular ones that point down the walkways of the station or up the stairs. In this first area there are 4 to find, first a tube one to the left of Hoshino at the end of the stairs, and a rectangular one to its right pointing directly up the stairs.
Along the side of the train you can see one pointing away from where you and Hoshino are standing, then turn around and follow the train and you can see a second pointing towards you.
Follow the side of the train to get to the next area where there are 4 more cameras. A tube one immediately up to your left as you enter the area, and a rectangular one pointing away from where you just came from down the side of the train.
Walk further into the area and spot another tube one by the next staircase, along with another rectangular one pointing down the side of the train.
Continue to the final area where there are 4 more cameras. First, one final one pointing down the side of the train, then one almost right beside it pointing back in the other direction.
There is a tube one on the opposite side of the area, then one final tube one further down in the middle of the area.
You’ll now be looking at a top-down view of the station showing the groper’s running path, then with all of the camera view ranges imposed on top. There are 4 locations you need to inspect on this image: the “Disembark Point” on the left, the dotted line just to the right of that, the location where the “Escape Path” text is located, then finally where the “Apprehended” spot is pointing to.
After you finish viewing the image Yagami will speak with Hoshino and Saori, then return to Ijincho automatically.
The Detective Dog
Back in Ijincho you now need to go to Seiryo High and up to the Faculty Room once more to speak with Sawa. She gives you a lot of new info, then you need to head to Yokohama 99. When you arrive you’ll be treated by a dog, who insists on having you follow it. Let it lead you to the southwest where you will find a woman with a lost child.
The dog will then pick up the scent of the boy’s mother and will lead you further southwest into the parking garage along the river. Inside you’ll find a number of Yakuza who are blackmailing the woman, and you can easily deal with them so the mother can return to her son.
Afterward, you’ll receive a text from Amasawa who explains that the dog is actually hers, and you now have use of Ranpo the Detective Dog to sniff out clues whenever you need. You can then head back to Yokohama 99 again and speak to Tsukumo.
The White Masks
After some more scenes, you will now be chasing one of the White Masks through Ijincho.
The chase eventually leads you to the dead-end alleys by Ijin Street, which if you played Yakuza: LAD you will recognize as the Yokohama Liumang gang territory. You now have a fight against the branch leader Tesso.
Tesso fights with large sweeping kicks and quick attacks from the claws on his hands which cause bleeding if they hit. These are attached so don’t even try going for a disarm, it won’t even allow you to do the animation like some other enemies. His attacks aren’t overly out there compared to prior enemies though, so he is fairly easy to dodge. This boss fight introduces quicktime events though, the first for the game. When you reach nearly the end of his first health bar he will automatically lock you into one, the number of button presses being dictated by the difficulty you are currently playing on.
Assuming you pass the quicktime event you will parry his attack and knock him down into his second health bar. He will then power up and immediately perform a deadly attack where he charges towards you, so be aware and perform the reversal when he is near.
Once Tesso is down you will be attacked by more of the White Masks while you try to escape the area. You will have to take out each group before you can continue back through the alley to the next area. Watch for the couple of guys in this first group with weapons, otherwise, they aren’t a huge deal.
In the next group, you have a miniboss-style enemy with a lot more health who will also do Deadly Attacks, but you also have Kaito and Kuwana helping you out. Deal with the enemies then destroy the yellow carts that are blocking the way back out to the main road to continue.
There is one group of enemies waiting for you before the road who aren’t too tough, then a couple of normal guys and one more miniboss who drops in after they are dealt with. The miniboss has two health bars like Tesso did and will use Deadly Attacks almost immediately, but isn’t anything overly special compared to the normal guys otherwise, just takes more of a beating.
Once everyone is dealt with you are allowed to leave, then can head back to Yokohama 99. When you return you’ll find that the place was ransacked while you were away and someone attacked Tsukumo and Sugiura. Once the cutscenes finish you can rest on the couch to go to the next day and continue the story.
Back in Kamurocho
Saori wants to talk to you at Genda Law Office in Kamurocho, so head there in the taxi. After speaking with her at the office you will then need to take a taxi to the new location Tokyo Detention Center in a taxi to speak with Ehara. After the first two scenes show him the “Security Footage of Yokohama 99” evidence.
After finishing the rest of the conversation you will automatically return to Kamurocho, then head back to Yagami Detective Agency to complete the chapter.

Small correction – the guys you chase down after catching them spying on the murder site weren’t from Sieryo High. Their high school name started with a “k.”
